    i like how much rhythm you got out of just 4 samples. I'm new at this and I tend to use way too many samples at a time, and it ends up being awful. I'm realizing now that 3-5 is the sweet spot in general, not 16 🙄

    • @distantcry2
      @distantcry2  5 месяцев назад

      Trust me bro I've been there, it honestly depends on the sample, less chops can allow for more groove, whilst more can give you more control when needed, just keep at it man I'm still learning myself

    Always so crazy to see the process of chopping on software, really is a great workflow fr. Interesting to see how they basically have an entire MPC as a small section of the DAW

    • @Tapehead
      @Tapehead 2 года назад

      it's cool seeing that tempo tapper too, I do that by laying down a hi hat groove, and then playing the sample chops over that groove, and tweak the BPM of the hi hat sequence until it matches the sample. Also dope to see you adding more chops to get the sample on beat, so essential

    • @distantcry2
      @distantcry2  2 года назад +1

      @@Tapehead man that's one thing about using hardware is that natural groove, sometimes I try to do drums manually but the latency always makes me end up quantising most things 😂😂, I respect anyone who does drums like that

    yessss!!! i use Sony ACID so most of the stuff here doesn't apply there lol but its always fun viewing the creative process! everyone works differently andit shows each time i see things like this.

    • @distantcry2
      @distantcry2  2 года назад +1

      Glad you like it man, literally my first time hearing that DAW today, I assume you can do similar things in there though

    • @blackskrillexvevo
      @blackskrillexvevo 2 года назад

      god no lol. ACID is basically a $40 version of Audacity (at least to me). its midi support is extremely confusing and the only think im able to record in it consistently is my voice from time to time. maybe im using it wrong but Sony turned the audio portion of Vegas into a daw and thats basically how ACID handles. i personally treat it as a "drag and drop" daw where i just layer samples to my liking and make stuff work. it also has a pro version but its noticeably more expensive and it adds a few improvements like sidechaining but the vanilla version gets the job done even if it can take a bit longer.

    • @distantcry2
      @distantcry2  2 года назад +1

      Did you make that track that you posted in discord using that?

    • @blackskrillexvevo
      @blackskrillexvevo 2 года назад

      i sure did! ive made everything ive put out using ACID and i can make it work out fairly well due to my years of experience just toying around. FL and Ableton i can see myself adopting in the future once i get a better pc but because ACID still has the same feel it did when released in the 90s it runs on a good amount of computers and doesnt eat up the ram or cpu.

    perfect tutorial, saved me hours of struggling! Thank you. Just one question; when I play my samples on my launchpad through fpc, how do i make one sample playing while i press the next sample? Now when I press the second time the first one immediately stops. Would appreciate your help! 🎉

    • @distantcry2
      @distantcry2  3 месяца назад

      Hi, this is probably because of the cut settings (I show this at around 8:20) if you change from 0,0, to say 1,1 for example, this pad should now play when you press another one. They will overlap as long as the cut values are different

      Top right hand corner of the Edison window there's an icon with a mouse arrow and a file, when you've highlighted a region just drag that arrow to one of the pads on FPC 👍🏿
