I think one of the coolest things about the nlss is that the crew are all very different people from different backgrounds and beliefs but they are all just genuine, good dudes.
Rinus Luijk What would you consider the pinnacle of music then? I actually think Queen is the perfect band. Not my favorite. Not even in the top ten. But literally everything a band can do right is done right by Queen. Lyricism, instrumentals, image, vocals, production, etc. And the mixture of quality, accessibility and longevity in Bohemian Rhapsody is really only matched by the Beatles.
Freezing temp for water 32 degrees, boiling point for water 212 degrees, why the fuck is that a thing? I'm an American and having the freezing point for water be 0 and boiling be 100 is so much more practical
I recently caught 5 minutes of a t.v show about commercial plane crashes in which the sole reason of the crash was linked to a misread of fuel because it wasn't in metric. Why don't they just change it? I actually don't know.
quiplash should have a third category of votes called novotes so that people can't win by a huge margin just because their answer was less terrible than their opponent's.
I wasn't sure at first, but I actually like Tricky Towers as an opener. Perfect balance of commentary and yelling. Also, you don't need to CTRL + ALT + DEL for task manager. CTRL + Shift + ESC opens the task manager directly. I felt like I was dying once when I had an intestinal abscess. If I went to bed instead of the hospital, I maybe could have actually died. Wheeee I love how the incredibly heated finger food debate is immediately tame if Nick is there. Bohemian Rhapsody is the song people who know nothing about music say they love because it makes them feel deep "because it's a suite".
When my friends and I all worked at Taco Bell we used to do these because with our discount we could get a 12pack for a little over 6 dollars (although usually one of us was the shift manager so we could just get it for free), and it was actual hell. Fun as shit though.
Wow, you guys managed to get Dead by Daylight to work. I'm excited and simultaneously disappointed considering how great the crashes are from a comedic standpoint.
Lava Lamps contain heated wax with a light at the bottom that constantly regulates the viscosity of the wax. As wax heats up it rises, which pulls it farther away from the light which cools it again, causing it to cycle in again.
Fahrenheit makes sense for body temperatures or the weather, Celsius is just for water temperatures. On the subject of showers, either makes sense. It's water of a certain temperature hitting your body.
As someone who grew up watching the LotR-trilogy of movies, I thought the Hobbit movies were great. And while some people complain about them taking one book and making it a trilogy, and the amount of stuff they added from the Silmarillion, I thought they added more to the movies for the better. I'm not the kind of person who complains about getting more than I asked for.
I don't think people complained about the lore inconsistencies or adding stuff into the Silmarillion. they complained about a trilogy that was stretched to the absolute breaking point (i personally think it broke that point) due to it being based of one relatively tiny book. ultimately, resulting in an overlong snorefest that was so structurally flawed, from characters to plot, that the only reason anyone gave these movies the time of day was because they had the vastly superior LOTR trilogies name slapped on to them. its not so much about getting more than we asked for, its about the quality of that "more". The Hobbit added useless fluff that was not engaging, wasted time and resulted in a set of movies so flawed that the first movie didn't really achieve anything, the second movie ended just as it was reaching its peak (ultimately killing the mood and pacing for both the second and third movie), resulting in the third movie having a weak opening that should have been great, and then puttered out in a pointless display of CGI armies being thrown at each other, sorry i mean "fighting" for about 30 minutes over basically nothing since the movie gave us nothing and no one to care about. they tried desperately to make at least one character worthy of note, but they failed because who gives a crap about any character in the Hobbit movies? fuck the book hardly cares about any of its characters in the hobbit (besides Gandalf, golum and Bilbo). it ultimately was made to make money of the LOTR brand, not because anyone gave a crap about making a piece of art or god forbid something entertaining. venting over.
The problem with the additions they made is that it was all Disney-style love bullshit. It is out of place, useless and totally undermines Tolkien's work... Plus the CGI was worst than in the original trilogy that dates back to the fucking 2000's!
Everyone acts like Celsius is such a great system but even the "it measures water" thing (which is completely arbitrary in and of itself) only works with distilled water at sea level, which does not apply to most environments, and is also cosmically arbitrary. Celsius when dealing with human living conditions only gives you about 50 usable degrees, whereas Fahrenheit gives you 150ish.
Blaine Drummond The only reason Celsius is better than Fahrenheit is that it uses the same unit as Kelvin. Which is useless for the vast majority of the population. So Fahrenheit ftw.
RocKie Rangarock I think you might be misunderstanding what I'm saying. The only reason Celsius has that makes it truly superior to Fahrenheit is that it uses the same units as Kelvin, which is useful for scientific purposes. Purposes the vast majority of the population of the world don't have. Otherwise, Fahrenheit and Celsius are pretty much equal. If you grew up with C, good for you, you know how to know what's hot and cold in C. If you grew up in F, good for you, you know hat's hot and cold in F.
Using the little wooden fork thing, the fish tends to come apart easy enough so that you can get pretty much perfect bite size pieces of fish 90% of the time.
Celsius is based on the freezing/boiling point of pure water. Fahrenheit is based on the coldest temperature recorded in a garden in Germany and the temperature of horse blood. Choose your side...
mtchell mariacher I'd give it an B+ Tricky Towers is in that great spot when the game is awesome but not awesome enough to be played too much(like Afterbirth and,to me,UCH),Dead by Daylight is not that good a game, but it's nice to see them bringing retired sections back, but I'd much rather see Lethal League or Family/Google Feud in that sense, and Quiplash is always solid and sometimes amazing
Depending on the tea, it could make it worse since many types of tea have caffeine - which adds to the dehydration factor. So amplify the salt headache and heart palpitations.
Tara does even the most caffeinated tea have the same amount as a cup of coffee? I don't notice any buzz from chai, but then, I'm so resistant to caffeine as it is that it takes multiple cups of coffee to get me to baseline functional and I rarely drink more than a cup of tea in a sitting.
RebelWinterwolf black and green tea generally have about half to thre qairters the amount of caffeine as average coffee. Caffiene resistance kinda sucks.
I'm pretty sure that even coffee doesn't have enough caffeine to dehydrate you when you take into account the amount of water in it. It offsets it by far.

I think Kate's logic wasn't about Austin losing the mental battle, but strictly about his limit. The moment he placed nug #20 in his mouth, he went over his limit and started fighting a losing battle, so it's his loss. So in her mind, it's not so much about how much you can force yourself to eat compared to everyone else, but how much you can actually eat. So mental fortitude(?) versus physical capabilities.

NL you could say every popular song in history is overrated and I'd respect your opinion, but I would argue... well not to the death or until I'm blue in the face cause that's fucked up... but like for a decent period of time that Space Oddity has good character development. I mean if you're saying Major Tom isn't decently developed, Bowie's got like 2-3 songs over the next 45 years that talk about the character I mean come on. If you're saying specifically Space Oddity then maybe I see your point, but I think he does a good job of fleshing out the character well while focusing on the atmospheric feel of being about space (hence the length of the song).
Dear lord I just wrote an essay about a single sentence you said in a 3 hour video. What has happened to me? I need to turn off notifications for you so I don't stay up all night watching your vids and end up commenting stupid shit like this.
England only uses odd measurements for human dimensions. We use metric for everything important (unless you run into one of those prehistoric engineers that still uses weird shit like BTU). The US is one of the only three countries (others being Liberia and Myanmar) that still actually use the imperial system. It really needs to just go quietly into the night, for important measurements at least.
The average shower is about 105f. Also, there's no real such thing as celsius vs fahrenheit, because they are both inferior to the Kelvin and Rankine. I'll eat my words when someone explains to me how a body can have NEGATIVE temperature, when absolute zero (the coldest temp in existence) is when an object has no energy at all.
Nick says, "the joke is I don't know if Hobbit came out first or Game of Thrones" "the joke is I don't know" Rob says, "Hobbit definitely came out first" Nick says, "yeah, the joke is I know" ... That's a joke?
Quiplash is always an S-tier section, it's so bad but so good at the same time.
Propastypete it's better with josh
Zebodia what isn't better with Josh?
Quiplash and pintrillo are the best segments, any docket that does not contain at least one of these has me slightly disappointed
Propastypete HORSE
im waiting for the day the quiplash seed is NLSS
I think one of the coolest things about the nlss is that the crew are all very different people from different backgrounds and beliefs but they are all just genuine, good dudes.
Clinton Rohlf Except for Rob. He's a racist.
Who watches NL at 2 in the morning?
Elsewhere
OH BOY 2 AM!
I thought it was 3 AM
It was, but that doesn't take away from the joke too much.
Matthew Mccleary its what I watch at 4 am
"Hey im Northernlion Bohemian Rhapsody is trash but will smiths wild wild west is an absolute work of art" i hope you egg gets cracked m8
Bohemian Rhapsody is severely overrated, though. It's a decent song, but not the pinnacle of music that some people make it out to be.
Rinus Luijk What would you consider the pinnacle of music then? I actually think Queen is the perfect band. Not my favorite. Not even in the top ten. Andrew SS did you not watch quiplash? That's a fucking sin quiplash is easily S tier
There's been a crash of a spatial probe in 2011 because a contractor of the NASA used the imperial system
Why is that a thing? Because the freezing/boiling point of water is entirely irrelevant to the daily life of human beings.
Solid Lion, master of tactical bleeding out in the tall grass.
Today on Dead by Daylight, NL becomes a grass danger noodle
At least he was Dwight and sat in closets :)
Tricky Towers is my favourite of the three opening segments, glad it's showing up here and there now :D
quiplash should have a third category of votes called novotes so that people can't win by a huge margin just because their answer was less terrible than their opponent's.

I've seen Robs face and I fully approve. Even without the nuggets.
"Smoked whitefish" sound like one of those randomly generated poptropica names
"Hybrid Narwhal" sounds like one of those randomly generated poptropica names
I wasn't sure at first, but I actually like Tricky Towers as an opener. Perfect balance of commentary and yelling.

How long until the dozen taco challenge becomes a real thing.?
Sprankton that seems super easy
Bob Saget I can personally in down five at most of I push it, and that's with tacos that some people don't even consider actual tacos.
Joseph Overstreet You know, now that I think about it, Taco Bell gets me really full after one of those $5 boxes
When my friends and I all worked at Taco Bell we used to do these because with our discount we could get a 12pack for a little over 6 dollars (although usually one of us was the shift manager so we could just get it for free), and it was actual hell. Fun as shit though.
i eat 12 tacos almost every time i go to taco bell
Wow, you guys managed to get Dead by Daylight to work. I'm excited and simultaneously disappointed considering how great the crashes are from a comedic standpoint.
Zachary Reed i actually play DBD on the daily and experience crashes almost never
I have never hated myself more than I did when rob sang that iceage song and i recognized it instantly
While referenced in Ice Age, "Food, Glorious Food" (in Austin's case, "Seed, Wonderful Seed") is from Oliver! the Musical.

50 nugs cannot be that bad. I'm also a fat piece of human waste.
my thoughts exactly
50 nuggets isn't that bad, my next step will be trying to eat somewhere between 75 and 100 nugs
Next step should be the 50 NUT challenge: Eat 50 testicles.

I was watching this in study hall and when the loot hoarder impressions came on I tried so hard to contain my laughter that my lungs imploded
also all you have to do is multiply the celcius temperature by 2 and add 28 then you get fahreheit

Yellow mustard has vinegar, so why wouldn't Dijon also have vinegar? It's just normal mustard with horseradish and paprika.
dijon is made with wine
Apparently the "original" Dijon mustard replaced vinegar with verjuice.
Reverend Maillet-Crutcher
I defy you to walk into a North American supermarket and find a bottled Dijon mustard made with whine, or anything but unspecified "vinegar."
So unless NL is buying twenty dollar bottles of mustard from a fucking whole-foods store, imported from France, it is _not_ made with wine.
I eagerly away this devolving into some kind of retarded "No True Dijon" argument, though.

I'm giving it a D+, I would fail it if not for Quiplash.
A+ would be Ultimate Chicken Horse / Worms WMD / Quiplash.
C+ for me, tricky towers is an A, Dead by daylight is a F and quiplash is a B at best
Neko >Tricky Towers is an A
Tricky towers is a C.
tricky towers is amazing!

How many nugs did everyone get to? Austin got to 40 or something right?
Kaospyri Nope, Austin got to 25 and threw up. Nick did 42, MALF did 50, NL did 51, Rob did 57.

NL only did twenty nugs? What the hell is this? That's literally just a meal at that point.
Austin Vanderveer He did 51. If you're referring to the leftover 30, I think Kate did 20.
