Hey cat lovers! Before heading to the comments, be sure to subscribe to our channel and ring the notification bell that way you never miss a future upload! 🐈
We got a 6-week old shorthair seven years ago and we kept her separate from the adult Bombay and Yorkiepoo while we were at work for about two months just to be on the safe side. Neither the Bombay or Yorkiepoo ever hissed or growled at her when we were at home and when we finally let her have run of the house while we were out, we came back to a nice happy fur family. The Bombay acted like her protective big brother and the Yorkiepoo was just as protective as a mother would be also.
Another, very, very helpful content! Eight months; we believe it as one of our cats took nearly 2 years to accept his new friends.
My kitten hes about 8 months. Too. So yeah he's at that stage. He might have a older cat roommate soon. She is either around 5-10 years old idk. So I'm worried haha they never met. But maybe smelled each other scent. Cause I've pet them both.
Thanks for your videos because it helps me to know my cailco cat more hope you share your love with everyone 🙏😻
Thanks for the video and advice, getting a 10 week kitten the weekend and already have a year old male cat, so gonna take all the precautions 😊
Do they get along now?
I’m happy to know I’ve been doing this right for decades.
Thank you for telling me this we have a lot of cats at work
It does not matter.
@@jonogren5567 yes it does
I will just say this. Adopt two cats together if you don’t already have any. My first adopting experience I adopted two. I didn’t have to do any of that introducing . They were both already in same cage and everything went amazing. They both played etc. one of my boys died a year ago leaving the girl by herself. I waited a year to get her a fur friend. Mind you the resident cat is 15. The new adopted is 8 year old male. I thiighf since my resident cat was raised with a male and the adopted cat was raised with female that if would prob go well. I also thought adopting an older cat would be better so a kitten wouldn’t pester her as much. The apl said I have 30 day trial period that if it doesn’t go well I can return adopted pet and it will not be considered surrender. Well the introducing is going terrible. I am following Jackson galaxy videos. Swapping blankets , rooms , putting up the screens etc. I finally let them In same room. The adopted one attacked resident so I had to start it all over with separating , swapping etc. it’s to exhausting and I am bringing the adopted one back to shelter bc my resident cat sometimes will not eat , hides etc and it’s affecting her. It’s stressing me out too and I have to work out of state soon. I always bring my cats with me but I can’t bring these two growling and attacking. I do think I need more time for the introducing and I just don’t Have that time. I heard I can sponsor the cat etc. I’m going to ask the apl what I can do to help get him adopted like I will pay for the fee , I can put an amazing word that the cat is extremely friendly . The first day I had him he was rolling around on the floor , purring , licks me all the time , he had not had one litterbox accident . I have videos of him flinging his toys around. I think he would make rhe best cat ever for someone who is looking for a cat that doesn’t have any other cats or has a lot of time to introduce to other cats. I am never doing the introducing thing ever again. You have to have a lot of patience and time etc. I just don’t have either
I don't plan on getting any more cats but I did enjoy the video.
Glad you liked it! 😺
These videos help me with kitty withdrawals lol. Thank you. (Part 4 of Stray!)
I'm only allowed one cat. I adopted my cat Tiger-J when he was just a little kitten.
I hope you'll be able to show a video about Persian cats.
Is it easier if the cat is a male and the kitten is a female or if the kitten is a male?
Would like to know why my 2 full grown cats who were adopted together at 8 weeks old (they were siblings), would go to the veterinarian together and come home acting as if they’ve never seen each other before. This just happened recently when we took them in for their yearly check up. It took them 2 full days and nights to finally realize that they knew each other. They growled like a couple of demons at each other. ???
Thanks!
Maybe they didn't smell the same after being at the vet so they didn't trust each other's smell? My friend's cats would do that with each other, and that's just our theory. I hope you find out why, and if you do, please share with us 🙂
Thank you Chris, you may be right. 🐈
I'm just over a month. Its very up and down, still get snares and growls and avoidance
Hang in there! It could take several more months for them to get used to each other.
What about having 2 litter mateded cat's that have been perfectly fine with Each other for 12 years an then their doggie friend passes away an the Female cat becomes combative too the one brother Cat but not too the other cat or the other female cat that is living in the house?? all the cat's get Along still except for the one female cat an the one brother cat?? its been so bad that she has forced this one male brother too the confines of a bedroom?? I'm just so confused on how to get These two too become reacclimated to each other!! I've tried to reintroduce them to each other but again they have not readjusted too the fact that they know each other.
il mio leo questa estate verra' dato ad una persona che ha gia' due gatti e una gattina in stallo..
spero solo che vada tutto bene...
speriamo vivamente!!
When i took in my mom's cat, they got along fine without those steps. Now she is going to take her cat back, so im worried he will get lonely. Also, i have to take in my friends cat for a while and am wondering if my cats will be nice to him
Love from Pakistan
Just planning on just the one cat 🐈! But really good info in this video! Thanks 😎🐈😻😺
At one point years ago, a Russian blue we had was so accepting of other cats coming in, she was so sweet. She was born May 5th 05, passed on good Friday a few years ago. When I get a bigger place, I'm gonna adopt the sweetest kitty at a shelter soon. I've gotta have a kitty lol.
1 big thumbs up
This seems like it took so long and this video is so underrated
