Very good review. I've watched it several times because I have a dilemma with this yo yo. I don't want to love it. But I do. Love. It. It is small (ish). It isn't bimetal. I got the IST as an EDC. But it is so smooth and quiet. It spins a long time. It is stable and maneuverable. I got the Chestnut color and it is beautiful. Your point about using the IST to fine tune tricks is spot on. I love this yo yo and need to find something else to EDC.

Did you try the MikeMonty Memento? I just got it and it instantly became my favourite throw. Considering your playstyle I think you would enjoy it.
Never did play a Momento, but it does look like something I’d like.

Which do you prefer, the ist or kappa?
That’s a tough one. I like both because they break the mold for what you’d expect from each. The ist being undersized but super capable, and the Kappa being able to be pushed as an organic. In other words, but then both if you can. 😂
