Life is all about timing and I'm about to go shoot my first salon. Great tips. Thanks for doing these!
That’s awesome! Best of luck with your shoot and thanks for taking the time to watch and leave a comment!
Great information. I’m very new to making videos and this was very helpful. The only tool I have is a camera (6700). I’m broke, so I had to start somewhere. 😅 I’m a bit limited, but I hope to grow. What about lighting? Especially in a Salon, there’s a lot going on, with customers coming in and out… what did you do for that?
Thanka a lot for your tips, I was very scared as it was my first shoot for SALON but I did it. Here's the video : ruclips.net/video/t5Q14_9tbHk/видео.html
Keep Inspiring and rocking 🎬
Super awesome tutorial, thank you.
You went a little too quickly with the Color Matte example. My slowness couldn't keep up.
I've worked out how to get it up, but there was a few clicks you did.. a quick explanation would be appreciated... I've got my 3rd ever shoot, and first paying, at a Salon this weekend :).
I like your video
Dope, shooting a high end salon all day tomorrow. Good looks. Subscribed.
Hope it went well!
Hi David. What kind of camera can you suggest for me to get I am just starting and I want to be able to explore more on this type of cinematography. Any tips on camera type is super appreciated! Thanks
If you’re really passionate about learning cinematography it’s really not about the camera in the beginning, it’s 90% lighting and lenses. That being said if you need a camera to start off, depending on your budget I’d look at a BMPCC 6K, GH5S, Sony A7III
Thanks a lot David! I’ll go ahead and check that out. Super helpful!
Just about to make a salon promo video for the first time. Thanks for this
Kill it Matt, you got this!
Did you use a 1 or 1/2 black satin filter? I'm shooting a salon in the next week and I might what to add this to my kit. Great video! Thanks!
I used a 1 for most of the wides and a 1/2 for anything greater than 50mm

Nice Tips!

Thanks Sam 🙏
What color temperature did you use in the beauty salon video or what’s a good color temperature to record beauty salon videos?
Thanks for the question! In general you want to color balance to the most dominate color you’re looking at. If you’re pointing the camera at a bunch of in door lights you might want to use 4000K for instance. If you have a window in the background that’s pushing in daylight but also have in door lights in the scene you can try splitting the difference and use 4800k for instance.
@@atdavidlee got it!!!
Thank you very much!!!
