I really hope that the final film keeps the simplicity of the series as Kane has done it, since adding in all of the extra levels and stuff just makes it seem like chaos and mythical stories instead of the believably realistic simple but super eerie and scary atmosphere that Kane has given us.

"respect the lore" yes he already did a whole series on level 0. what's up with people wanting to see the same level over and over again.
The backrooms is an infinite space of different dimensions and spaces, an entire movie about the mono yellow level would be super boring, just being realistic. there are far better levels than 0 bro, its not much of a backrooms movie without the other levels.
@@backroomsbot to be fair when Kane was making the first found footage tape he was not aware of of the "level's" wiki or anything of the sort. The "levels" and kanes idea of the backrooms are different. It wasn't until "pitfall" that we got to see any big variation on the "levels". So its hard to say what direction he goes. I know it'll still be really close to the current RUclips anthology though.

I'm in love with the first half so much, it's so calm and completely eerie because of that. The scene at 0:39 especially, the unexpectedness of seeing a blue sky and a "normal" lane with suddenly realising there's something standing there that shouldn't be (along with the vagueness of the figure) really is unsettling. I also love the brightness and prettiness of some of the scenes, it's not all dark and gritty, which makes the creepy parts so much more creepy, those whole scenes are like gorgeous but disjointed from reality, making it so uncanny, which really sells the backrooms vibe :D

Damn... This was so good I legit thought for a second that this is an actual trailer from A24 & Kane. The soundtrack, animation, flow... Everything was just perfect.

They actually used this trailer for the official trailer so maybe it wasnt a concept trailer after all... (This trailer concept came out before the official trailer)
@@GODBSMPthe “official” one isn’t offical, the channel isn’t the real A24 studios and they stole this video, the stranger things soundtrack, and a couple movies scenes. Just look at the subs and the vids on that A24 channel that made that trailer, they even copied the fnaf trailer too with different music. The backrooms trailer for the movie or any leaks hasn’t been posted yet.

Wow, this new movie looks totally awesome, Kane. You made me really believe there was a movie coming out and as I watched it, I was getting more into it and more sad because there wasn't gonna be a movie based on this :( overall, this really captured the backrooms entities and the mystery of it all.

Pretty much kills anything that brought atmosphere fear and tension and turned it into a soft toy, basically kills the essence of what it originally was. Visually its together, but…it’s like Disney got their hands on it
And now I want a full movie with an accompanying tv and book series
No offense to either GibbsonTV or kanepixels but if this is what the movie is like then imo it's already failed to capture what the backrooms are. The concept was never scary because of monsters, not really. It was the slow-burn mix of psychological and cosmic horror that came from the very concept of a sort of 'deadzone' in reality where there was no meaning, no change, no real point of reference for anything. It's an idea that used symbols of sterile, empty, corporate environments to create a crushing sense of a space so void of meaning or intent that it was utterly horrifying. And I don't mean "oh my god I'm going to die in here" horrifying, I mean pure existential meaningless horror. Think more along the lines of Everything Everywhere All At Once and Jobu/Joy's existential despair, except in the Backrooms there is no story, so no way to make peace with that despair by turning it into optimistic nihilism like the movie does. Just the quiet hum of halogen bulbs, the bland yellow walls, and that's it. Reality so empty of meaning that adding a defined monster to it actually makes it far less scary.
This (and other backroom videos/games/fanfics/copypastas) have turned the whole concept into a video game where there are monsters that are the real horror and that you can at least attempt to fight. It's massively dumbing down an incredibly disturbing concept into something that can be approached like just another horror shooter. And I say that as someone who plays and loves FPS games. It's just frustrating to see such an incredibly terrifying concept gamified. Like seriously, how the fuck is that guy walking through a wall and then making boring-ass generic anime-bad-guy clenched-fist moves with his hands and killing soldiers with some kind of psychic power anything that stands out from the mass of generic horror? And what the fuck does it actually have to do with the backrooms? Sure it looks cool but there are a million types of entertainment that can show me rule-of-cool moments these days. I was hoping if something like this ever got made it would be by people who understood what makes the backrooms uniquely scary, not by people who just jammed a bunch of generic gaming tropes into it because they don't get what would truly be so scary about being alone in a meaningless corner of reality. Or if not alone, at least not just being chased by something you can even vaguely understand, let alone fight.

Thank you, I had to scroll WAY too far down to finally see this comment. I can't believe how utterly disappointed I am at this trailer. Kane had something special, true deep seeded horror of the unknown. All that mystery is absolutely gone now after seeing this trailer. Like sure some of it looks cool but it's also massively cheesy to the point it's laughable. Incredibly unfortunate he went this direction with it.
Love the minotaur entity. However cool the bipedal design is, there would be something terrifying about it galloping towards you on all fours.

Everything about this trailer seems absolutely great except for one (and a couple other small) animation details. You should give the suits real cloth physical and change some of it's variables to make it seem more metallic and plastic-like. This can easily be done in blender and I'm sure it will make this look 10 times better.
I know it's small but that tiny stiffness and clipping of the suit on the left of the scientist shoulder quickly breaks the emmersion and keeps reminding the brain that this is an animation. Again it's a small detail but the subconscious mind quickly sees these things and notices it quicker then the conscious mind. Not only will the cloth physics fix the stiffness but it will also fix the small clipping. Like I see the suit of scientist barely clipping through itself.
Also I can sometimes see the suits worn by the soldiers bend and deform in an unnatural way like the right armpit of this fallen soldier 1:08 . The reason why this these small details are so important to fix is because close up shots like this one and when the scientist opens of the chest (left shoulder), these small imperfections sticks out and breaks the emmersion for a second.
Although I would say you got the movement animation down for now.
From what I can tell your not using blender (I think), but oh boy not only is blender easier, it's better and free.

One last thing, if you want all your movements to look so much more real and powerful, you have to give it WEIGHT. Give evidence of it's power and movement. Like when the soldiers and scientists walk and run let their clothing and attachments bounce and swing. Let the dust particles fly aside and the puddles of water bounce and tremble with each step of the monster. When the goat man kills the soldiers and tenses up let his muscles and vains pop out and let the green substance temporarily quickly spread throughout his body. (Although you can do that later I know muscle physics animation is actually hard)
Also there's one thing you really do got down, and that's the cinematic shots and atmosphere! 👍

Normally the Backrooms has a kind of subdued creepy atmosphere which is of course perfect for it but I'm loving this epic-fantasy take of the Backrooms. It enunciates the awe-inspiring element of the setting, which is just as at home in this universe as fear and weirdness. I'd love to see a movie with this feel to it.

Truly a beautiful, and remarkable artwork. I loved the graphics, and how cinematic it was. I don't know how this isn't a top-movie, and honestly would be amazing if you and a couple of others got together and made a actual BIG movie. This captured my attention because it captures my vibe, and attention. I love this. I hope the movie comes soon!

The Backrooms reminds me of something that caught a glimpse of our world and loved it. Enough to try to replicate it. But just as a human meets another human who speaks another language unknown to the first, tries to communicate, the sound ends up being gibberish instead of a coherent imitation.
Kane should take you to the team making the backrooms movie. I feel like the monsters in this are bit unrealistic for the lore but i have seen your other backrooms videos and they have amazing animations

Not to downplay this video... but this just shows what huge difference good sound design makes. I know there is some serious work behind this, but it just doesn't quite have the vibe. Also with the textures, the camera quality, the lighting... Kane's version of the backrooms feels much more alive. But this definitely deserves a like!
