the lack of talking REALLY adds to the sense of overwhelming isolation; that was an awesome touch. the suspense was built up so well, and the pacing and tension of the man placing his hand against the wall before breaking, screaming, and trying to break it down was handled MASTERFULLY. This was an absolute treat to watch 👍👍

Channel Zero did something like that with Creepypastas and I loved it
This right here should be a movie and they should have it in a vhs type of movie to make it more ominous and dark because you may never know what could be lurking around the corner

What a Wonderful World is actually chilling when put into the context of The Backrooms because everything in the song is the complete opposite of what The Backrooms is.
The VFX look crazy, seriously amazing.
Also having 4:3 aspect ratio is genius.
It's actually a 1:1 aspect ratio, not sure if that was on purpose.

I really don't like it and it really shouldn't be exploited as a Netflix series, at least not by Leon Underwood. I explain why below your second trailer.
Apparently, I have been working in the backroom for over 25 years. I didn't know my workplace was considered a "Horror" lol. It's called photolithography in Semiconductor fab. I work the night shift and I am usually alone. And yes, we wear those similar suits, it has the same exact buzzing sound, and we have those narrow hallways just like it.
This would be awesome if Netflix had a series of the backrooms

I probably would watch this if it was a real series. Its weird to me not seeing first person perspective now though. I would watch this and kanes movie. The more backrooms stuff like this the better. I think its already close to beating stranger things mainly because the backrooms is probably where they go in the other dimension 😮

a full movie would ruin the creepiness factor because they would probably put a lot of dialogue and character development which is something this thing doesn't need

A couple of "what if's" i'd like to add-
What if it was filmed as though it was a voice journal? To make up for the potential lack of other people, depending on if the said film-makers are hoping for a more personal character arc about mentalities and to push forward, or if they'd prefer to have other characters that the mc may interact with or lose over time.
Going back to the 'if' it were a voice-over journal, it could be occasionally cut off (I imagine it would be alike to a reading of the journal he writes in, with occasional sound breaks during entity arrivals alike to interstellar for anticipation). In order for it to be perceived this way, I'd also like to imagine the mc may be able to find small journals as he raids drawers and lockers for supplies.
Just went to the kickstarter, I hope something like this gets supported in the future.

they really captured the feeling of being the only "living" thing for hundreds if not thousands of miles, some would say that the idea of that is the scariest part.
I absolutely love this! I really do hope netfilx makes a movie or series about the backrooms in the future I think it would do really well.

I think the backrooms could make for a good horror film but there’s just one common issue with these fan trailers that just makes them not so good. I do applaud the creators of these fan trailers for putting all their effort to making a really good looking trailer however most of them seemed to lack the pure dread and terror brought up by the backrooms. It doesn’t come in the form of levels or monsters but from the simple fear of the unknown. Not only that but the lack of monsters or any form of life being completely absent and leaving you all by yourself in a unknown location is already maddening concept. But with the addition of not giving any information or context gets the viewer in the mystery and leaves their imagination running wild. People will ask themselves questions like, “how long does the hallways go”, “am i the only one here” or “could their be something lurking in the corner”. Just the simple idea of you being trapped in a place where you don’t even know if you have chance of escaping is already horrifying thing but coupled with the infinitely distorting, nostalgia invoking hallways plastered with yellow wallpaper and the constant anxiety inducing humming buzz radiating from the ceiling lights creates this creepy atmosphere. Really the star of the show is just the location, the backrooms is really a character in itself. And if you have the need of using entities, use them sparingly like what Kane does in his backrooms series, if you show them less of the entity it can pose as a very menacing and terrifying threat. Also another factor that heightens the terror of the backroom is by having everything done in found footage. Having the character record everything from their point of view can make it feel real thus making it more scary. And it would also serve well in jumpscares which also should be used sparingly just like the entities.
I actually think movie like this would totally work. They should film it.

for me, it would make a great horror movie, because it could put many different types of monsters and terrors in each scenario. like terror, suspense, psychological terror, and in the end, when you show the person leaving the backroons, you show that in fact the person never left, that that reality is still from the backroons. since the mechanics is that if you enter, you can no longer leave.
