I like M2. Yeah there is sometimes issues with them, but most times its easily fixed. I like them cause they make alot of cars others arent making. The way they disappear at our Walmart would indicate that they get snapped up quickly. Usually the ones i like i have to get off Ebay.
Happy Father's Day today! I like the Corvette XP-86 in black 15:45 and Moon belly tank lakester. 19:19 I dislike the soda type vehicle's. They do have quality control problems and break kinda easy.
I have a version of 19:19 from 100% Hot Wheel's from 1999. Haven't seen one since M2 released it a few years ago. That belly tanker was designed from the drop tanks of the WW2 P-38 Lighting.
Acetone is really an M2 collector's best friend. I usually skip them too, but for the few I have, I was able to see under the soda or cookie graphics to the cool car underneath. To be fair, GL used to have a lot of QC issues too, but you and I still bought them. For me M2 just feels and looks lower quality, I can't pinpoint why.
Some nice looking cars. I do have a number of M2's in my collection. Try to find the stock looking ones. If it does have any advertising, I prefer that it is car related. They put out a beautiful '49 Merc in black with flames. It also had Hormell written all over it. Very sad. Anyway, my fav here would be the belly tank. Very cool casting. HW's did one for the 100% series. Two came out, one by itself, the other in a 4 piece set. Designed by Larry Wood. Very cool. M2 has alot of hit and miss. Dig the variety of cars and styles. Good stuff.
Hey DJK, I picked up a very similar selection this week too. I got a stand alone Mustang funny car that also won’t close all the way because of the seat/roll bar, and a Chevy Super 30 w/camper shell and trailer w/ a Camaro funny car in the “down” position. They have the soda logos, because the one you got wasn’t available. Also got Ford pickup(non-chase), but passed on the K5 blazer, went back for it the next day, but it was gone with the wind! Thanks for sharing!
I buy M2 if like it has a stock feel to it. On the trucks like blazer, I glue the tops on. The quality it hit and miss. But they offer some cars I like that other diecast brands do not offer. The older cars from the fifties is a strong set for them if the quality standards is there. The brands castings are likely a way to help offset some production costs, but seeing many of them as peg warmers makes me wonder if this is working out or not. Scaling from any brand can be hit or miss. Packing format really determines the final sizing.
Very nice assortment of castings, I only do the M2 60's vans /trucks and the 50's wagons because they are the only ones making those. most I leave in the the case so I probably have not noticed the quality issues. thanks for sharing
I like M2 , and like most of the diecast makers there will be something we can complain about. Hopefully in the future they will take notice of your videos , and be more preceptive of their quality assurance , and still crank out some of the older models and off brands others tend to avoid. Keep up the good work , and thank you for sharing.
Championdjk, for the price M2s really need to have side mirrors also - they do glue on some parts so if they can't cast the mirrors onto the metal they should have pieces that should come pre-attached.
Yeah, if I do pick up M2's, I try to avoid the soda liveries, plus they're a few bucks more, than the regular version. The QC issues are sometimes a problem, but appear to be better now.
Some OK pieces. I like the Chevy trucks. I don't like all the pieces with logos or sodas names on them. I only collect certain Mopars. That's it. Thank for the great videos.
That XP 86 has been on my radar for a while. That’s the kind of M2 I like. I don’t collect the brand but I do pick up models here and there that I like. I stay clear of all their product tie ins though, be it Coca Cola or car products. I don’t care. I want my cars “clean”. I have had my fair share of issues when it comes to M2 models, like everybody else. Since I can only buy these online, without being able to check the quality of the model directly, that pushes me to be even more selective. The 50/50 chance that I might get a quality issue most of the time makes me pass on these.
I only have a few M2 models, they’re one of my least favorite brands. If Hot Wheels is the McDonald’s of diecast (and it is), then M2 is Hardee’s. The Belly Tanker is an external gas tank from a plane, probably a bomber, that’s been converted into a salt flats top speed car. Hot wheels did a basic version that hinges open, and a nice 100% version with a removable top.
i stopped collecting m2 a number of years ago quality issues and i simply don`t have the room to collect everything they`re just not up to the standards of mini gt inno 64 tarmac works auto world etc quality over quantity
Yes, I agree about quality, but the price point is less than half that of Mini GT❤ or Tarmac. Plus hate the plastic base on Tarmac when paying so much.
I like M2, hate the goofy sponsorship cars. I look them over very well before buying because of terrible quality control. Just the other day there was a 80s Buick Regal at Walmart and the chrome bumper insert was chilling in the bottom of the box🤷🏼♂️ d have some unique castings no one else has 😮😮that’s why I continue to buy themnnn…….
Hey Champion, I'd LOVE to get that M2 Ford truck chase from you. Lmk if we can setup a trade!! I have a rare JL ultra white, white lightning Dodge war ambulance I could trade, also have other stuff.
Right on, I do still have it. I would be looking for an STH or an Ultra Red.. if not those I would consider import diecast of some sort. Shoot me an email at championdjk@gmail.com
Just return that one set you didnt like. That's an advantage of buying from Walmart and not a hobby retailer. I only like the clean M2 cars and trucks and will buy them on rare occasions. I cant stand the Coke, food, and auto parts manufacturing logos all over my cars. I've never seen a classic K5 Blazer with Dinty Moore Stew livery on the road and i certainly don't want it on my diecast! But people buy it so they keep making them.

Yeah, "I Buy Cars, Not Commercials" is what I usually say. I Don't Need Hostess Pie or Soda Ads on My Diecast. I Don't Buy them Anymore.
That says a lot if you of all people stopped buying the vans with that stuff on it!
Acetone is really an M2 collector's best friend. I usually skip them too, but for the few I have, I was able to see under the soda or cookie graphics to the cool car underneath. I can tell you from taking one or two apart. The metal was thin on the ones that I messed with when I used to customize. Much thinner that Hot Wheels

Id take the hauler set buddy 😮

Love the Ford and the Blazer
I love m2❤ Its my favourite brand. Suspiciously i dont have many quality issues with it. They made beautiful detailed models.
In my opinion. I think M2 doors on their antique 50's cars open and close better than their hoods open and close.
Quality issues aside, m2 get some special Charme to me 🤩👍
So-Cal Speed Shop is the appropriate livery for the belly tank

Soda? Aren’t you supposed to say pop where you live? 😂😂😂
Hahaha I haven't said pop since I was a wee lad

18:10 HW does one, was originally metal/metal
Say it once and say it again: every M2 chase is gold
Well not every one. But most are
Wish I could find them for my husband
I usually don't mind the branded ones when they're set up as race cars. Otherwise, yea it can be annoying lol
27:50 I just call it a utility bed. Heh
Just so you know that Camaro may be an older casting but it is a recent release.

I agree with soda delivery sucks and quality for sure..!🍺😎

well than auto world is probably a better comparison

Hell, yeah man, their quality sucks, you’ll be lucky to get a good piece once in a blue moon, I’ll pick one up, but I know I’m wasting my money
I feel like it has gotten quite a bit better than it was

Tires😂😂😂
Quality control with M2 is not too good
Bros critiquing M2 like it’s a 50$ car and paying 30+ dollars for hot wheels rlc that have a bunch of mistakes 😂
Hahaha totally fair
I wish m2 would make more without the coke cola advertising on them
💯
It's one of the primary reasons they're able to keep costs down
The casting on that Chevy is terrible. That thing is way low, looks like it’s got blown shocks
This brand has big quality issues. BIG! The soda liverys suck. Thier wheels are the worst. This brand is just for show. To keep in the case.
