At 6:19, was that a "Wisker Pole" on a Genoa to run wing on wing? I know nothing about sailboats but just purchased a '85 C-22 that came with nothing but a main sail.
@@ZeroToAwesome Is your Wisker Pole this one (seems too heavy duty): " Forespar Heavy Duty Twistlock Telescoping Whisker Pole - 7' to 15' - 407101 Item # 865943 Description Forespar's model 7-15 Whisker Pole is stronger than its predecessor, yet much lower in retail cost than their Line Control™ poles. Depends on the size of the motor. If you have a current in the River or tide in the bay might want to make certain you have enough HP to make it back into the docks/ramp.
Well done, I remember days on Deep Creek Lake, in Western Md. Racing have a ball, much like you were. Think I need another boat...
Ahh, brings back memories. ⛵️ (Hated those gusty days.) Congrats on 2nd place. 🥈
Tiny sandwiches really change the overall strategy.
My partner and I have a 1980 Catalina 22. We sail Lake Pepin which is part of the Mississippi River. We love our time on the water.
Thanks for sharing! Great video, btw! 11:43, the Melges with the red sail passing close to the other boat is Lucky Dog, the boat I race on.
See you out there one of these weekends!
Life jackets are awesome
so are life lines
I'm so happy to find this channel. I have cat 22 on Lake Grapevine. See you guys out there.
See you out there!
@@ZeroToAwesome Awesome had C&C 26 then an Sanatana 30/30 out on grapevine back in the day!
Fun video to watch! I haven’t been interested in racing my 28 Newport, but perhaps that could change.
Go for it!
I think you are doing a better job of being young than I did.
Thanks! Only the fun stuff makes it into the videos though, back to the office on Monday…
Great time!
Sailing: Waaaaaay to much work. (Definitely only for smart people)
I’ll stick with them motor boats- no thinking required.

Yes, a Forespar brand whisker pole.
@@ZeroToAwesome Thank You for both replies.
Good luck with your 22!!

Fun! I need to take my 73 Catalina 22 out on Wednesday nights..
‘73 sounds like a nice low hill number!
I’m still confused?! Did we catch any fish😂
The most delicious of fish were caught.
Ramming speed!!
Speeeeeeed!
what speed were you getting?
I just got a 22 catalina, would it be okay to just use the motor in like a river / bay until I learn to sail , or would it not have enough power etx

Neat !!
Where did you get those spacers for your jib cam cleats?
Catalina Direct, they bolt all the way through the fiberglass combings.
Hey wait this lake looks familiar. I'm Juan's Crew and I know exactly who was taking first.
Nothing worse than a missed start time unless it is being.......becalmed?!
becalmed and out of beer?
@@ZeroToAwesome Haha, so right!
