The people in Vault 4 didn’t really suck. It was the original regime that conducted those horrific experiments. Until they were eaten by them. The current occupants were weird, but pretty harmless as it turned out.
The new residents were New California Republic refugees, and the NCR is about as reasonable as factions get in the wasteland. Or was, prior to their biggest settlement getting bombed.
Bud was talking about Bud's buds at 36:43 but you didn't want to listen ;). He seems like such a minor character in the past, but is the literal brain behind vault 31-32-33 and using time to outlast the competition. I think all his assistants were just cryogenically frozen and unfrozen when needed rather than being modified in any way. Im not sure how Moldaver survived until the present though.

She had a huge oart in creating cold fusion so no doubt she's capable of either making those chambers or getting access to them.
You mentioned "The Dune" film. The actor who plays Hank Maclean was the lead actor in the first Dune film from 1984. Forty years ago.

Vault 4 has so many luxuries because it was intended for the scientists, not the usual vault test subjects.

@11:18 I think the history they teach there is accurate (within Fallout), Lucy was just curious because it was the part of the history she and all the others from 33 missed while living underground.
@26:45 Actually, I think it was Betty. The prisoners knew too much about Vault 32 and the outside world that Vault 33 dwellers are not supposed to know.
@39:52 They are all Vault-Tec managers from before the war in Cryosleep. I don't think they or the 33 vaulties are genetically modified. (the idea is that you don't ageing during cyrosleep)
The city at the end was New Vegas, from the videogame and the creature skull was a Deathclaw one of the most dangerous on the wasteland

The end credits which you didn't seem to watch, showed where Season 2 might take place. Its a well known location in one of the games. However, that location game takes place in the year 2281 which was 15 years prior to this TV show. The location has been drastically altered in the mean time.
I had no idea there was end credits, luckily I’m rewatching it again out of pure enjoyment & ill watch those end credits this time 🫢

There's a high-level Intelligence perk in the games, called Nerd Rage. If you are thoroughly beaten up with the max intelligence required to take this perk, time slows down, and both your damage done and damage resistance go way up.
In season 2, I would love to see Norm go into a Nerd Rage. Maybe he's beaten up again like in episode 1. Hiding again, following his strategy that we've seen before. And maybe he's linked up with his sister and she's there with him and in immediate danger. Enter Nerd Rage. Slow motion ass whipping delivered by Norm. Equal parts intelligent choices, cunning actions and pure rage. I want to see it.

personally I'd assume his family is in Vault 31. It's an easy solution that keeps the vault relavent.
Barb is not one of Bud’s Buds, instead she likely has higher seniority than Bud. Plus, she talked about a special vault that oversaw all 100+ vaults not just vaults 32 and 33. So she is most likely somewhere else.

There is nothing that suggests that Lucy’s brother has to cryosleep. I wouldn’t follow buds advice.
It's interesting watching your reactions. Especially since I didn't know any of the lore of Fallout either when I watched through. Eventually I played the games after I finished the series. And I realized how wrong all my pre-conceived notions were for a lot of the stuff that happened in the show, lol. What a wild ride
I definitely want to play the games now, I’d love to understand and learn more of the lore!

36:18 that car is a real-life Messerschmitt KR200, very similar to a car model that we can see in games.
and I'm not sure that Moldaver, a woman who has remained the same for 200 years who knows how, does not have some responsibility for the destruction of Shady Sands and the ghulization of Lucy's mother.
The small car bud drives is the Messerschmitt KR200. Not sure what car Cooper Howard is driving, but it has similar lines to the triumph Spitfire mark III. Coopers car is bigger though and has sliding doors.
Looks like Cooper may have a 1954 Kaiser Darrin Roadster

@Grimbol Fellow Canadian here. BTW there are 122 Vaults in the games. According to one Vault-Tec map I saw, one of them appear to be in Canada. In the lore, Canada had been annexed by the USA sometime prior to 2077, the year nuclear war broke out.
