To me, NOOOO, you don't get rid of the dog that you had for six years and is being attacked by the new dog, you return the new dog and respect that it was there first. @@angelanelson2275 How can you be so sure of that??
If that couple live together, which it sounds to me like they do, from the defendant bragging about how he makes so much more money to give the dog a better home and the fact that the Aunt signed the dog over to him on their notorized agreement but the dog is legally registered in the girlfriend's name. And if his behavior and treatment of his cousin, the Plaintiff, is any sort of representation of how he really is as a person and the girlfriend accepts that behavior by staying with him... In my opinion, they are too immature, selfish, and cruel and are probably not the best pet owners. Just like the Judge said, the amount of money you make is completely irrelevant and doesn't determine how you care and provide for your animal. That couple are just nasty people and it shows. To treat your family member like that, create all of this drama between your family and, even worse, to find it amusing and was seemingly enjoying the Plaintiff's desperation and heartbreak... Truly awful. I just pray that they do actually give that dog a good home but my hopes aren't too high for that, unfortunately.

She did want the best for the dog, hence her keeping the dog in a place that had more room. Times are tough, and she was in a rough spot in her life. That doesn't mean it was OK for her family to give away her dog.
They won because all paperwork and the such were in her aunt's name, when she should have did everything herself (bought the food, went to the vet, etc) to show she owned the dog. I felt like that too, but the bigger picture is that the dog is in a better place. Even though the defendant guy is a pos, him and his gf are taking care of the dog. And my heart goes out to the plaintiff girl, but I think her grandmother was right, she had a lot on her plate. Hopefully the plaintiff makes peace with the decision. It didn’t matter how long they were telling her she could have the dog, they really didn’t want her to have noodles. She wasn’t the best candidate due to her circumstances.

I don't think this guy should be given a badge and a gun and the right to be a bully, but there are police departments that look for aggressive officers.
