I am vastly grateful that this platform has been able to aggregate so much of the music recorded from all the world's orchestras. I figured out the econimics about why so little of it is heard in one's city concert hall and the local classical station: It is such a huge investment of time, practice, paychecks, etc. for any one given orchestra to learn the standard repertoire, let alone the lessr known works and composers. Until we could visit all these magical works in places like this, we were stuck with performance seasons/radio playlists weighted with the works of the Germanic workaholics and the Mightist Russians, plus a limited number of stand-alones by the likes of Lalo, Rodrigo, and the French Impressionists. Saint Saens has his war horse chestnuts in this pantheon. Great to hear the likes of these bonbons outside his oeuvre!
Another absolutely beautiful work, full of character- and virtually unknown! Saint-Saens was a remarkable genius! Absolutely "made of music" what an astonishing output!
really so melodic am entranced and relaxed thanks rodders
Bravo bravo bravo bravo bravo fantastic brilliance grandiose genial music ballet super
Of all the great composers there are none who have a more varied and wide range in style as Saint-Saens. He is a true genius.

This work is unknown to most peoples. I know it since Debussy translated it into piano music~
Care sunt partile baletului?
Lovely ballet suite! "Vespers" (8:00-11:26) is gorgeous...
Œuvre charmante oubliée des ballets écrits par Saint Saens (Ascanio ) dans le style de fin XIX s superbement restitué par OPMC et David Robertson .
