  • @jpsmith4576
    @jpsmith4576 10 лет назад +45

    The MPC is to the right of the keyboard/sampler (Ensoniq ASR-10). It's what he wrote the beat on and layered it with the vocal sample. The beat he wrote separate from the sample. Most tracks include layered samples with independent beats, creating something entirely different from the originally sampled track, as is evident here, and it sounds fresh. I wonder how many people would be talking shit if it didn't have Kanye's name on it and/or they thought it was made by their favorite artist. lol

    Hip Hop groups like Stetsasonic, Fugees, and The Roots were all instrumentalists who made their own compositions as well as sampled music, or covers of old soul/funk whatever. Theres a place for it all. For those of us around when sampling was the done thing, not only did it expose us to the sounds of the past being revived and reinterpreted, but for many of us it broadened our musical horizons to genres we might never have considered before. In any case the original artist gets royalties too.

      ***** I do make music actually lol. I play over 5 instruments as well. Fuck out of here with your assumptions and salty ass attitude. The album was overrated relative to his other work.
      Never mind the fact that music is subjective - but unless you enjoy pop/radio/commercial type rap over what Kanye was putting out earlier in his career, then you would see how someone could justify MDTF being overrated.
      But continue making assumptions about people posting youtube comments and getting upset as if I just made fun a family member for saying an album was overrated. Lol fucking weirdo.

  • @CommandAndCommentary

    The man just changed the tempo, pitch, sliced up the audio to perfect lengths, and sorted them in a different pattern/rhythm to give it a whole new feel. It's not out of this world by any means necessary but it does take patience and a good ear. Don't sell him short.

My heart beats to the sound of music and I have to say there is nothing like making happy music. It just can't be faked one has to be in that space. Hope Kanye gets there again. I think he will when he looks at his baby's eyes. He'll get that inspiration.

    The great thing though, Tron, is Kanye owns his craft so much that he could evolve, like he is...and still later down the line put out an album like The College Dropout...and still have big hits from it. Ego aside, the guy is phenomenal and his passion for being regarded as an artist is what makes him truly amazing.
