This was part of Canada's centenary celebration, 100 years of confederation. This is our 150th year. Our school in Toronto sent some school buses full of students there, so did many schools in Toronto.
That was cool Even though I was only 5 years old I remember EXPO 67. Because my dad worked for the Canadian Pacific Railway he had a family pass for the whole summer. You didn't have any footage of La Ronde where I rode on a camel, went on the log ride many times and saw Batman water ski ( the original Batman ). Ha Ha. We also went on the hovercraft. The French Pavilion ( 8:22 ) is still there plus the framework of the US pavilion ( 5:39 ). The French Pavilion is now the Montreal Casino and I'm not sure what they use the US pavilion for. This was back in a time when there seemed to be some hope for the planet. I've got a few reels of super 8 that my dad took but I don't have a projector to watch them on right now. I'll find one though.
My parents and I were at E67. I remember buying "Soviet ice cream" while standing in line to get into the USSR pavilion. I was surprised that it tasted just like ice cream! (Stupid American teenager). The American pavilion was a huge disappointment. It had giant pictures of Clark Gable, Marilyn Monroe, Bogart, and some others I don't remember. Apparently the pavilion committee couldn't come up with anything better to show the world except our dead movie stars.
Nice footage. Photographer was either very excited or was drinking too many Cokes or Pepsi’s because he or she is bouncing all over the place. Really couldn’t get my eyes to lock on to one thing. It is more likely that he or she is just excited to be there. I guess I’m a little jealous. I would have been 10 years old at the time. I love fairs and expositions. If I were able to time travel the major fairs would be near the top of my list.

Like Corporateria's plucky psy-op c/o Man & His World, today's deplorable state of affairs comes from that very same *ancient* orchestration..!
