He can't speak Chinese, English just a bit. now he is taking English and Chinese lessons. It will give you a chance to build up your mental armor to survive some of the things he does during the later performances in that show and his performances up until now.
As a longtime Dear I can only echo the superlatives of my predecessors. I would humbly suggest you use Gloria Wu's vids for your reactions to Singer 2017-especially Late Autumn and Daybreak. Her vids are copywrite-free and have backstories and subtitles which will vastly enhance your reactions.
It's fun to watch how you can hardly contain yourself 😂 You're so right about how Adele or anyone else would be all over the place if they had to sing in Chinese or Kazach. Dimash knew no English at the time this was recorded, other than a few greeting words. He sang strictly using memorization, which is why his pronunciation was a bit off in places. That doesn't lessen the incredibly amazing talent it took to sing a song of this caliber, in a foreign language, and be able to make it sound soooooooo good!!!
