Besides this hilarious movie, my dad has some old film reels from a camera that his dad had. Some of that film includes a trip they all took out west to California in their van in the late 70's early 80's (I'll have to check what year) but every time I see that home film, I think of this song. it's all silent film, (a time before home cameras could record audio) but I can almost hear their conversations, laughter, jokes, etc... Makes me nostalgic for a time I never got to experience.
I love that movie I love the old days people we’re normal that then Chevy Chase and John Candy. Beverly D’Angelo. Christie Brinkley. Dennis Quaid. What is not to love about this movie? Play at a time machine believe me Id go back.
One of the greatest movies I ever saw as a kid. Aunt Edna strapped to the roof of the Family Truckster whizzing through Arizona sent me into hysterics.
At the end of June 2021 the score is: Dancin' Across the USA: 52 The New Lee Highway Blues: 18 That's a complete turnaround since the last report: At the end of January 2021, the score is: The New Lee Highway Blues 11 Dancin' Across the USA 18 Something is afoot.
I always loved watching everyone's natural unscripted reactions, when riding the roller coaster at the end of the movie. Seeing Chevy look visibly sick and almost having to throw up always makes me laugh.
Yes it's a very cute song and not just as a very cute way to end the film of Vacation and after they had enough of going down Holiday Road as another way to coin another term too.
One of the great songs in one of the all-time classic movies that made soooo many people laugh over the years.
This movie still rocks!!
Forever!

I miss these days so much I could cry!! Beautiful song!! That passion line I always sing it with all I got lol
Cry? Lmao
I've really stopped watching so many new movies these days and find myself gravitating towards the films I grew up with like this.
As do I!!! Something about the 80's and 90's movies hit different as an adult.
Better writing, comedic acting. And the jokes were thought out
No CGI.
Came here after watching the movie. It was really good. Too bad Hollywood no longer makes movies like this.
I just did the same. The family loved it 😊
Yeah, but daddy says I’m the best at it……..
Watched Vacation dozens of times with my dad, He loved the movie and this song. God speed Dad
Lindsey at his wildly creative quirky best
Listening to this song brings back such good memories of the 80's.......😢
Great movie and great song!!!
I love the soundtracks of this movie. I miss soundtracks of the 80s.
Better song, better movie.
My wife and I watch this every summer around July.
This brings back so many great memories!

Cute? Lmao..A girl is cute, not a song
Was that Christine McVie singing backup?
Yes
family guy brought me here ❤
😊😊😊
I wondered who did the back up singing
Wagon Queen Family Truckster.
I'm trying to imagine The Oak Ridge Boys singing this song.
I always thought this was the beach boys
It might as well have been them.
I think that's what Buckingham was going for.
I was thinking the Statler Brothers.
What
🥰❤
Is it just me or Will Ferrell, somehow, has a comic attitude very similar to the one that Chavy Chase used to have?
@K-Pine440 🌲 I agree
Kinda makes me wish we got a Vacation remake with Will Ferrell as Clark.
Who’s the backup singers in this song
Christine Mcvie
