Great points ! My only push back is, has in my case. Starting off with a beginner/easy not so intimidating etc…. Leads to a potential hoarding of different types of snake species.

Great video JZ. We need more videos explaining the logic behind "beginner" pets. Personally I've always struggled with that. I see so many "beginner" pets getting rehomed from loss of interest more than anything else. But there's a limit. I personally don't think youre incapable of jumping right to an intermediate pet if youre truly passionate about it and do the work. My hope would be that the persons love for that species would prevent them from getting it once rhe research showed they werent really built for it. Of course that doesnt always happen. But I don't think you need to have a leopard gecko, a beardie, a crestie, and emerald tree skinks before you can think about a monitor. It always always always comes down to people being real with themselves about what they can actually handle. I hope that makes sense.

It’s a fair point. Because I’m involved with pet keeping, breeding, rescue, large scale breeding and education I see a lot of cases like what I was talking about but hopefully I got the point across that it isn’t always the case just happens a lot. I think I reshot this 4 times in total and after a point I forget what all I missed in other takes

Not disagreeing with you, but you didn’t mention the beginner snakes that get discarded once the keeper feels they have practiced enough and can now get what they really want.
I think that’s one of the saddest reasons why beginner snakes get rehomed or abandoned

I thought about it but I felt it fell into the responsible keeping part in general and I was mainly focusing on the “doesn’t matter what kind of animal” comment because you’re not wrong but I could end up ranting for hours…again… if I go too far into that
