I've had my Massey Ferguson GC1710 for 7 years, not problem with it. The dealer even called me a month before the warranty was up to see if I had any problems, none whatsoever. Hats off to Card Brothers in Chesaning, Mi.
I have a New Holland 1530 I purchased new in 1997. At the time of purchase I did not know it was made by Shibura. My local New Holland dealer still has the parts I’ve needed to keep this machine maintained and running. Point being stick with brand names. You may pay a little more up front but as the years progress it nice knowing someone has your back… LS now makes compact tractors for New Holland. New Holland engineers the loaders and hoes and provides ongoing support for these machines. That support is priceless when you need it.
I'm in SW Louisiana, my neighbor is a LS Dealer. I just bought my second LS tractor last week. I have 2 or 3 small issues with my 2015 tractor and repaired it myself. The newer dealers have had issues with repair bc of exactly what you are talking about inexperienced mechanics. My Dealer and neighbor is 100% committed to customer satisfaction. I just purchased a 68hp cab tractor. Im really sorry to hear you had this type experience, I truly believe these tractors are great products for the money.
So glad you did this video and with detail. I know the dealer and was there recently looking at tractors. Learning of your experience making a choice is easy. Orange is right down the road. When something breaks its often not at a good time so support is everything. These are relatively simple machines and not that hard to fix so there is no reason to do anything less than a perfect job. That pin he wired up. No excuses, there is a TS just a hop-skip down the road with a good assortment of pins he could have used. With that kind of service I wouldn't even buy a trailer there.
I have two LS tractors. A xg3025 with backhoe and a 3010 thats 10 years old. the 3025 has needed a $1.00 spring on the backhoe and paid for itself with 200 hrs. The 3010 had emergency light switch go $30.00. Total of $31.00 for both tractors. They are great tractors.
I went pricing out some tractors today with my parents after we came back from doing some errands. We have Kubota, Massey Ferguson, Kioti, John Deere, LS, New Holland and Mahindra in my area. The two brands I priced out today were a Massey Ferguson and John Deere. The dealer who sells Massey Ferguson also sells the Kioti tractors so while we were there pricing out a Massey we also mentioned the interest in Kioti but the smallest machine he had in stock was slightly too big for our property. He said we were better off with a Massey as far affordability and features went because even the Kioti went for a bit more. We also priced out a similar sized John Deere with the same features we wanted on the Massey and it was going for almost $4,000.00 more. Plus the monthly payments on the Deere were also a lot more than the Massey. We have an LS dealer about 30 minutes from my house that I wanted to check out but we didn't have the time to go before they closed. So I'd like to check them out this coming weekend to see how they compare to the price of the Massey with the features I want. There's also a New Holland dealer right here in town but those tend to be pricey so I'll probably just skip those altogether. My father has a small Kubota BX setup for snow removal and mowing grass as he has my grandfathers larger tractor with a loader already. He likes it a lot but like a lot of people he's not fond of their stupid rocker pedal so I'll be skipping Kubota because of that. Besides that the dealer that sells them is really good, they've been champs dealing with my grandfather and his dementia when he was having "problems" with his Cub Cadet lawn tractor. Until I go to the LS dealer and get prices plus monthly payments it looks like my main choice is a Massey Ferguson. Everything else either seems to be out of my price range as far as payments go or there's a feature on it that would annoy me to no end (Kubota's stupid rocker pedal). I'd have no problems doing a higher monthly payment if I wasn't already paying a truck like I am now. As far as your experience goes with your tractor. To me it sounds like even though things broke on it when they shouldn't have your whole problem is that your dealer is total shit. Because they did to you like our Yamaha dealer did to my friend when he was paying for a utv through them. They were happy selling you the machine but the moment something broke on you more than once even with light use they started blaming you for breaking it on purpose. What made it even worse is you also wasted your time to promote the guys dealership without asking for anything in return and he still blamed you for breaking your tractor. A shit dealer always seems to be the one that instantly blames the customer when something on their machine breaks under warranty and the dealer has to fix it.
Honestly I wish it was just the dealers but it's the entire dealer network and the corporate Structure... Completely left me out high and dry on multiple occasions. The warranty is useless
@@TheRichardOlson Sadly you eventually end up running into stuff like that. But your dealer obviously wasn't of any help. Especially if they were there blaming you right off the bat for any failures you had. I'm mostly just going to see what the price is for reference and not much more. The Massey Ferguson seems to be the closest thing to what I'm looking for with what I want for a reasonable price. I've also heard a while back that Mahindra wasn't all that trust worthy either. Since the only "dealer" we have around here that has them is an equipment rental place they're pretty easy to avoid. If it comes down to it I'll just have to do as my mother suggests and just get the snow blower later down the line so my payments are more reasonable. :)
That's why I tell people, no matter what tractor you buy make sure you have a good dealer with a great service dept It looks like you have a dealer issue not a LS Issue. All tractors at one time or another are going to break or you need parts.
thats why my kubota dealer here in canada is called Good equipment because it has the best and good reputaion plus he fixes 100% any brands of tractors, forestry equipment, trailers, construction equipment small, med, large, lawn and garden equipment , engines, snowplows and wings on big trucks wich pretty good
i have a ls p7010 which i bought new almost 9 years ago and it has been a great tractor, a couple of minor issues which you will get with any brand you buy. dealer has been great with any questions and all service is done fast and efficient by them. i bought a ls k 5055 1 year ago with 1100 hours on it and it has been even better tractor than i anticipated.
You have to realize that the dealers of LS Tractors actually assemble it. It comes in a crate! So just a heads up for anyone, If you see a disorganized shop and don't trust their service department then there is a good chance your tractor might fall apart. I bought my LS MT225S in Nov 2020 from a Fantastic Dealer and I`ve had zero problems!
When I bought my New Holland it was not that much more than a LS when I checked at the time they were pretty much the same price(purchased in 2018). I have had issues with the service department but it is basically one person that is an idiot there and I wont deal with him at all. One reason I went with NH over LS was the LS dealers seem to be other dealers first and not even in tractors most times. My NH dealer is also a Kubota dealer and a Bobcat dealer but they only deal in tractor/construction type equipment. They have been around for 40 plus years and have several locations, again allot of people say when you buy a tractor the dealer is as important as the tractor you pick and your video proves that.
I see all of these discussions but there are just a few critical decisions to make before you buy a compact tractor. Are you going to resell it? If you buy a used off brand, you will pay less. If you plan to keep it forever who cares about resale? If you have to have new and you want the option of selling later buy the green or orange ones. I like used pre emissions stuff with mostly metal. Keep the plastic hoods, fenders, shrouds. Most models will work for what they were designed. I would bet I could break any brand if I just wanted to abuse it. To me a critical concept is that most implements if sized for a machine should give before the core parts of that expensive tractor.
Thank you for sharing your experience. With a combination of your videos and Deep South homestead LS experience has changed my mind on our next purchase.
Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm glad I paid extra money for my Kubota. Paying an extra $5,000 doesn't amount to much when they give you 0% financing over 84 months. Two years bumper-to-bumper warranty and I paid for the extended warranty after that to cover the whole seven years. The tractor is a moneymaker for me, I don't have the time to nickel-and-dime.
@@michaelmactavish4445 that's highly opinionated though. Because my brother bought a Kubota L3301 and the dealers service sucked! The service department and technician weren't reliable, they wouldn't return his phone calls for over a week the parts department was slow so to say it was just a headache for him. Now I've shopped around a lot and have been to many dealers. I've never had a problem with my Massey Ferguson dealer and just in my experience I've never talk to anyone who has had a bad experience with Massey. Just my experience though.
I bought a LS XG3140H to help me with some property in AZ. I never needed the three-point lift for the first 3 years, just the backhoe. About 2 years ago I needed a box blade, so I removed the backhoe attachment. Once attached, the machine couldn't lift the blade! I spent months jiggling the controls, as suggested by my dealer, to no avail. They offered to repair it under warranty, but they're 1800 miles away! I found a closer dealer only 150 miles from here, but they won't work on it because LS will only reimburse the original selling dealer for warranty work! Talk about worthless customer service!
Couple of things Roger, when you disconnected the backhoe did you reconnect the two hydraulic lines on the tractor back together? Also, if the valve that controls the speed that the 3 point hitch goes down is opened all the way the hitch won’t lift. Both of these things got me, live & learn, lol.
Absolutely love my LS XG3037. Have had some minor issues but my dealer has been great. Works circles around my buddies Kubota of the same size but mainly because mine seems to be a bit heavier.
I have an XR3037H that I purchased new 09/2015. I have nearly 1000 hours on it and have had ZERO maintenance issues. I use it mainly with a grapple for tree and brush removal, but also have a regular front loader, rear blade, box blade, brush mower and landscape rake for other jobs.
Dude, it isn't just tractor dealers. I've had to go round and round with the local dealership over my new truck. You had a great experience compared to the treatment I got from my truck dealership. It was so bad, the manufacturer bought my truck back. Regarding tractors, I have two John Deere dealerships close by. The battery wasn't charging so instead of working on it myself, I decided to let the professionals handle it. I took it in and they said it was putting out 14.4 and said it was a bad battery and offered to replace the battery for $170.00. I had already checked the voltage and put a different battery in. Needless to say, I didn't buy the battery. I bought a service manual and researched the internet. It turned out to be a bad diode for $20. The kid that worked on it was just that, a kid.
Sorry for your experience but really a Auto dealer and a tractor dealer are not the same thing. Pretty much anyone I've ever had a conversation with about having their vehicle service have had multiple issues with dealer service. Whether that's the dealer trying to make more money than just what the vehicle was being serviced for by pointing out something else that looks like it might need to be replaced (which doesn't) or pointing out something with the brakes that looks dangerous (which really isn't). Auto dealers are ALWAYS trying to get more money out of you because they aren't really making any money off you unless they are servicing your vehicle. But tractor dealers a lot of times try to have a good relationship with you and give you good service so they don't leave a bad taste in your mouth so you come back and buy the implements, attachments, accessories ect from them. Auto dealers on some accounts don't care if you come back, tractor dealers do!
I have been researching compact and sub-compact tractors for over 2 years now looking for the best value for the money. I’ve carefully looked at all the major brands, comparing reliability, capability, initial price and cost to repair. I also looked at dealer support and parts price/availability. I’m not pressed for time or have and urgent need to buy a tractor (obviously if I’ve spent 2+ years looking), so I’ve been able to research and analyze a lot of data. As to dealer support, it is interesting to note that generally it falls into three categories, good, so-so and bad. And more interesting, to me anyway, a given dealer will fall into all three categories depending more on the perception of the customer and the circumstances which caused the failure. However, I’ve found that LS and RK have the worst overall reputation. Most LS tractors have failures due to poor quality issues. Rk failures are generally on average with most other manufacturers, but the majority of RK stores are not equipped to deal with anything more than minor repairs, thus a bad rep. Parts availability at RK is almost non-existent. Parts at many LS dealers are sketchy more often than not. Luckily compact LS tractors can use many New H parts as they are interchangeable. My research seems to indicate that Kioti and TYM, which are in the mid-price range seem to be the best buy for the $$. Kioti in particular, has a reasonable dealer network and it is growing quite quickly. Another contender is Mahindra, but their dealer network is somewhat weak. Although their tractors are beast, they have quality issues occurring more frequently in their tractor class. As a side note, Bobcat tractors are Kioti tractors painted white. You may have got a good price for your tractor but the old adage, “you get what you pay for” may be quite true when it comes to tractors.
@@TheRichardOlson thats why i like my kubota dealer i get best support from them plus my kubota dealer takes any tractor brands in for repairs no matter what dealer get it from he wants keep customers up with no down times and when my kubota hears other brand dealer dont support there customers he wouldnt be happy wich why the LS dealer here where i am are went out of business wich why kubota dealers in canada has the 5 star rating with good and the best reputaion plus the best with kubotas they usually take $500 to $2,000 off attachments wich is nice plus he gives free hats, jacket and toy tractors for kids free with purches wich is nice
This is an LS DEALER issue, not a tractor issue in my opinion, I have an LS tractor from a great dealer in Texas, never had one service issue with them at all, my tractor has had the normal maintenance and wear and tear issues, but my dealer was on it every time with great service and pricing.
My New Holland dealer is the one New Holland calls when another dealer goes belly up, and New Holland doesnt want the hassle of getting the inventory back. So he gets a massive discount and buys it all, we got a Boomer 40 with loader bush hog for 25k. It has been a great piece of equipment that we have used well beyond its intended use. It has moved rock, boulders, not gravel, 200 yards to build a 4 foot tall 18 foot wide 150 foot long dam/road. It has done about 4 other similar projects. Clutch and a wheel bearing so far.
Bad service is the worst! I'm lucky that the LS dealer I go to is amazing. Even when I made a bone-head move and broke my LS, they came to my house and fixed it on site and only charged me a $100 service call and covered the parts under warranty. The service guys are all very helpful and willing to think outside of the box to help me make something work that shouldn't.
Soon as you mentioned the part about no torque wrenches in the shop, I thought: "But these are the guys who assemble and prep the tractor!". Should have mentioned that to Ed when he was trying to blame the loose bolts on YOU! Thanks for the vid- I've seen a few used LS's for sale lately, and had no opinion of them as I've never even seen one in person. I like the idea of a cheaper non-luxury tractor (Keep it simple!)...but this does not sound like a good company. I bought a 91 Case-IH 1140 a dozen years ago for five grand...I use it pretty hard on my 27 acres(Including 9 hours of bushhogging at a time with a 5' hog)...it has never let me down or needed any repairs! I feel like I won the lottery now! Buying new and having the issues you've had is unacceptable!
Sorry to hear about your troubles. I bought my LS XR4145HC with the backhoe attachment three years ago. I have 780 trouble free hours. I've accomplished a lot of hard jobs in those hours. I saved over $12K in buying this tractor with no regrets. I had only 2 LS dealers in my area. I chose the one with the best equiped shop and best trained mechanics, just in case I had a major issue. But it's all been good. Long story short, good dealer support and good dealer set up is an absolute must no matter what brand you choose.
I got about 20' on my new LS snowblower before it stopped working. I found a shaft bearing which is supposed to be sandwiched between 2 mounting plates was missing one of the plates. Bearing came out of the single plate which caused the chain to come off. Apparently it was assembled wrong at the factory. I took some measurements and bought a better / more secure bearing off of Amazon. Had to make some minor mods to it, but that fixed it and was significantly cheaper than an LS bearing assembly.
I bought the same model you have about a month ago to do some work around the house. Mine is a 2020 and I certainly understand why you love your little beast. I’m only about 25hrs into operating mine and the only thing I’ve noticed is it will not tilt the bucket back while I’m raising it. Thanks for the videos!
I don't have one so cannot be sure, but I assume this has a remote joystick for the loader valve. There will be a linkage or cable that connects it to the actual spool valve. My guess is that it is either adjusted incorrectly so that it never really pulls the valve open, or the clevis at the end is broken. I have a TYM and the clevis broke. They are both Korean tractors and probably both have Besko hydraulic parts. You might have the exact same issue I had. The casting for that clevis was defective. They didn't fill the mold properly and the casting was hollow. It looks fine from the outside but was literally like a soda can. Best of luck on the fix.
I have the LS MT345E. I picked it up used from the original owner with only 63 hours on it for $16,500. That included the front-end loader, a 5' box blade, 6' brush mower, and pallet forks. It has done everything I 've asked of it with ease. The features are nice and controls are well located. I added the rear remote hydraulics and third function. Personally, I need at least 40HP. Anyway, I've not had any issues with it at all. Dealers are few and far between, but I can get most parts online or by calling one of the bigger dealers. I can complete any needed repairs myself, but I haven't had to repair anything yet, just perform the standard maintenance items.
Appreciate the conversation. I am in the process of purchasing my first tractor and the research I have put in sounds familiar to how you opened this video. I am researching TYM, Bobcat, New Holland, Rural King, Massey Ferguson, Kubota, Mahinda, John Deere, Kioti, and LS. I am sure I am missing something. LS appears to have a great value on their sub-compact tractors. BUT... And this is a huge BUT... If their service is trash then LS will lose a customer here. I was really thinking about pulling the trigger on a new MT125 until I saw this video. I don't have any hands-on experience with tractors and this is all new to me so service and support are extremely important. Thank you for sharing your experience with your local LS dealer.
@@TheRichardOlson to bad you wernt handy my kubota dealer take it in for trade for a reliable kubota wich he been taking quite a lot of ls tractors because he had to fix the issues on them wich che gave the costumers that had LS tractors he gave them $30,000 for the trade ins wich pretty good amount of money he gave them for the trade ins on them
I am in the market for a tractor and LS was the main contender until I saw this. After learning from your headaches, I have decided against purchasing a tractor made by LS. Thank you very much
Sorry to hear to about this man, sounds like a bad dealer. I’m a mechanic at a small tractor dealer, LS and Deutz Fahr, and this would never happen where I work. I have personally removed parts from tractors we have in stock to get customers tractors going again many times. I can’t speak for other dealers, but I can say I’ve been pleased at LS’s support. They’re generous with warranty and the parts are a fraction of the price of other manufacturers. We work on mostly John Deere as that is what most of our customers have and you can repair that LS for half the cost of a similar 4000 series John Deere.
I have a MT122. It’s still new with just a little over 200 hrs on it but no issues so far. I’ve used it to build and maintain gravel roads on my 5 acre property and clear brushy areas. It’s been great so far. The dealer I bought it from seems decent and is within about 15 miles but I’ve done my own service so I can’t really comment on that. I saved about $6,000 on an equivalent Kubota.
@@TheRichardOlson you are right I have never used their service that’s why I said I can’t really comment on that. They were pleasant when I bought the tractor and when I’ve bought filters and such to do my own service. It could turn out if I need warranty work they show themselves to be All Dick’d Up.
Completely a dealer issue. If you had to get "super-nasty" and threaten to sue them to get them to do base level servicing, it has nothing to do with the tractor. I purchased a slightly larger unit XR4040H back in 2016, and have well over 400 hours on it, and the ONLY issue that I have is the ignition switch is getting a little "soft". Before I would turn hard clockwise to fire it up, now I have to turn a little more softly and find the spot where it hits. I use it to posthole dig pasture fencing, power a WoodMaxx woodchipper, box scrape landscaping on the farm, and haul firewood, stone, and barn manure with the loader. Literally, 400+ hours, and I have had no issues other than the 'touchy' ignition switch.
My sister bought an LS tractor about a year ago we use it all the time it’s been great for us and we have had great service with the dealership but maybe we are lucky that the owner is a nice guy bc if we had problems there is not really any other LS dealership near us to go to. We are an hour north of Houston Tx.
@@TheRichardOlson yeah hopefully it works out it was a gamble buying that tractor bc we had never really heard of that brand but we could not really find a better price they were even significantly cheaper than Mahindra so far we have had no issues but time will only tell.
An old thread, but I bought my MT125 from Foskett Equipment in Woodstock CT. Northeast corner of the state. Nice guys. Call don't email. I've had it for several years now and have put a few hundred hours on it. I do all the servicing as I'm in the southern part of CT, there's a bit of distance between me and them. Any MT125 parts you need, you'll find quite a few of them to be the same as New Holland, Kubota, etc. The MT125 has been very good to me. A couple of tweaks here and there, but that's just basic tractor maintenance. I have the MT125, the mid mower deck, the FEL, backhoe, and front mount snowblower. The lift cylinder on my snowblower has a slow leak, so I was looking for a seal kit. And you;re right, LS support isn't as available. But the part number for the LS cylinder is the same for New Holland, Kubota, and likely a few others. I didn't look deeper once I found what I needed. Your 'dealer' is the one who assembled your tractor. Their shop was a mess, and as you discovered, so was their work. And attitude. I'd have taken your repair complaints higher than your 'dealer'. Go up the LS chain. I don't see your beef as being with the tractor. It's with the 'dealer'.
I bought LS MT125 2 years ago. I had some small issues but my dealer was and has been excellent. They have taken care of everything no charge due to 6 yr warranty. Even bought my wife and I lunch one day because I have a 2hr drive to the dealer. Poor dealers are everywhere with every brand. I would not rate the tractor solely on the dealers actions. I have about 200hrs on my LS with loader and backhole. After some minor issues such as hydraulic leak due to loose fitting, loose lug nuts on left rear and broken joy stick the first 50 hrs I've had no further issues. Dealer Dealer Dealer is the key here. Sorry your dealer gave you such a bad experience. Again mine has been great. Wapakoneta OH has been awesome . They have stood behind what they sell.
i agree totally with your total comments. . home san antonio,tx. dealership closed... i have not tried the new one yet.. xg 3032 purchased 2017 error code ab04 intermittent for 3yrs now currently temp gauge not reading, rpm 1800 max eng runs for 30 seconds and dies. ign to off position and starts rt up. replaced both fuel filters at 200 hrs currently have 300hrs . going to replace fuel filters as easy test. any help or comments. tks for your help. and your rt. purchasing a tractor the dealership should be scrutinized for service and parts availability. many tks
I realize it’s apples and oranges, but I have a 1980’s Massey Fergusson. It’s still looks and runs great, also have a 1939 Ford 9N. I doubt the LS Tractors will still be around in 50yrs. Heck yours is struggling in months. I think you’ve been really patient with the dealer and his bargain product.. Thanks for the video
I’m glad I watched this…dealership customer service is vital! I did look at this dealership, but I’ll now find another place to drop $25,000.00 of my hard earned dollars at!
Before i was a Kubota owner I spent 6 months researching spent hours at different dealers talking with salesmen from almost every company and at the end every salesmen I spoke with said after all the attachments I wanted the price difference was about 2000CAD go with Kubota. Just so you have the/my List Boxblade, mower deck 60inch, 54inch gear tiller, proper forks. thumb,
I've been shopping the compact tractors fir a couple months I showed this video to our local ls dealer he flipped his lid, madder than a wet hornet he was, thanks for the videos appreciate ya
Thanks for the video was going look at the LS on my way to MB tractor glad I found this video first. I’ll stay with kubota always had good luck with the dealership .
Thanks for your info-clip which comes in handy for me since I am in the process of getting something you have purchased and yes, thousands of $'s difference in price may be important too. The next dealer in my area seems to be Kubota and Case and yes, I guess to start my search with them in order not to have bad luck since we do not have the equipment dealers al over in the desert anyway.
Good for you, and you've got your facts straight. tough to argue with a kubota or JD or other reputable well established brands, LS is scary, I want one ,but nervous. I love my Kioti, but I've had no issues whatsover. just got to part of NH, I live in southern maine and NH, I just emailed earlier today to the LS dealer in NH, he never responded, I guess I dodged a bullet.
I can understand your dealer issues, I had 2 JD's for over 20 years the first one never had any trouble. The second one Nightmare! The dealer screwed it up several times breaking the glass on my cab, due to mounting the loader brackets on wrong. The second issue was putting the wrong rotation mid-mount deck gear housing on backward, they later corrected it and did not put oil in the second gear housing causing it to break and lock up. Now I just go a New LS tractor MT352 hopefully I will not have issues. The dealer I purchased it from seems to be honest and stands behind his product. I guess time will tell.
The shock had a factory update. Why should a customer have this nonsense. I have been a LS/ LG dealer for 20 years. We try to have a good repour with our customers. May be you bought from the wrong dealer. We are in North East Connecticut and been there for 45 years. LS has been a good company to work with, and a great product.
In 18 I bought a ls mt350e with the backhoe attachment. It has just over 100 hours and the only had one issue where the dealer sent me the part and I installed it. Paid around 29 out the door.
They are junk. We buy and sell used equipment. We have had one for a month now called a dozen dealers and can't get any parts. Half of them tell us they are not part dealers or they will get back to us. Now I know why they bring nothing at the auctions.
Thanks for the honest review. I live in Oregon, closet dealer is is Sublimity OR(about 30 miles drive)are there any subscribers that live in Oregon and have purchased the MT225S, any thought on the tractor, quality of Oregon dealer customer service etc?
The dealer is the MOST important part of your purchase, the tractor is second. ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT! Buyers get hung up on the price of the tractor and that is secondary. Your painful experience is a lesson for every buyer!
great pics of the damage/repair. My local Kubota dealer has been great to work with. I have a friend who sold LS, and owns a 40 hp LS, and loves the tractor. Dealer: not so much.
So glad i watched this, i live in NH and have been tractor shopping , planned on stopping by the NH dealer tomorrow to check them out, which is what made me find this video while doing some research prior to going. Looks like ill be going going to the kioti dealer tomorrow instead which was my plan for Saturday. Saved me some time, id much rather pay more and be confident i buy from a dealer with pride, ethics and provides a high standard of customer service
Had mine for over 4 years now, sure, a few parts wore out and some consumable parts are expensive, nut all in all, no major problems. In fact, when it was under warranty they had no problem with me fixing it. By the way, I was ROUGH with it the first 2 years clearing property and it is only a little MT125. The only really issue I have had is getting cowlings off to replace a head light the wife deciided to put a limb through.
Your right the real difference is dealer support. I have a 1st class ls dealer hear in Kentucky with Morgan's. And another thing is there all the same on the tractors. All of the small ones are made in Korea or Japan by the same people
You have a bad dealer. My dealer is great, as is my LS tractor. I bought my XR4145 in 2017 and used it to clear 8 acres of woods. 400 hard hours on it and it’s been nothing short of great.
watched your video and your right....everything you said and did was right on par, i couldnt agree more....actually your much nicer about it then i would have been....i like those tractors too, in fact was just thinking about heading to the local dealer tomorrow to have a chat with him.....here in utah we have 2 different dealers local, thanks for your honesty on your video's... i tell people, when your honest with others, you have nothing to worry about....
That looks a lot like my old New Holland. About 20 years ago I bought a new Holland 33 horsepower tractor with gear transmission and shuttle shift. It was most of everything I wanted in a tractor. Except that the workmanship building that machine was really horrible! A week or two after I bought the tractor a gear broke in the transmission, I had to take it back to the dealership and they fixed it. Each time I drove that tractor over a pile of brush or dirt hump or something it would rip the wires out underneath the transmission! Some of the controls are on the fenders and the linkage bars that they used were very very weak and bent easily!!! Some other weird design flaw caused the rototiller to stop the engine when it hit a steel pipe. I had a hell of a time disengaging the rototiller from the transmission so that I could get the tiller off from the pipe. I could not disengage that tiller, I could not get the tractor into neutral, I could not even start the engine because the powertrain was jammed!!! I don't remember how I got it unjammed but it took quite a while. Anyway I lost total faith in the tractor and sold it. I owned it less than two years. If I would have kept the machine I would have replace the linkage on the levers with steel reinforcing rods! Not that soft metal that practically bent in the wind that they used! And I would rerun the wires over the transmission, not under it!!! I would also disconnect the stupid switch under the seat that would turn the motor off every time I moved in the seat. I had plans for making a few other improvements to. I hated having to sell it, but I would not be able to afford to have repairs after the warranty ran out.
Biggest problem with ls tractors is the the engine is too powerful for the rest of the tractor and constantly breaks something...can't keep the rear end tight in the frame rails...no torque specs listed anywhere even the in the service manual at the dealership...gotta completely remove and disassemble the rear end just to replace the mid mount pto seal
Damn I have 700 hours in my GC1715, FEL, belly mower, front snowblower, and 48 inch brush hog. delivered to my door for $15,000. Not one problem with it.
Every brand has lemons, as does LS. The dealer makes a difference. I’ve had my tractor 7 years and I’ve had a few small things happen. And all were my fault. My tractor has held up great and it has been severely abused. My dealer and their service department is great. My experience is the complete opposite of yours.
Completely agree. I'm on my newest LS tractor now, an MT573, and am completely satisfied. It's definitely the dealership that makes or breaks any brand. My dealer, Diamond R in Freeburg, Missouri, is terrific. Great service, easy to work with. They have provided me loaner tractors when mine has needed repair. I could not recommend them more highly.
I bought a MT225s two years ago. My issue is with cold starts. After it gets below 40 degrees it takes at least two key strokes to start. The glow plugs only stays on for one second and that isn't enough. LS claims the engine only needs 1 second until the temps get below -5. My dealer has other owners with the same issue but LS is not willing to reprogram their modules to increase glow plug on time. At their request I sent videos of my tractor starting cold and now I'm getting no response from them via email or on the phone. My dealer is just as frustrated as I am. In the end, I wish I would have bought a Kubota.
Welcome to the real world and the service industry. I expect this kind of crap but it pisses me off. I have had very few issues with my Kubota in 20 yrs of that helps you any. I am finding out Mahindra is not too different than LS.
Great information about the dealer. I wish you had encapsulated the video to say what you did at the end covering your feelings about the tractor in 30 seconds and then said the next 15 minutes will be about the crappy dealer. I'm currently trying to decide if the extra thousands will be worth it to go with Kubota and really having trouble finding anyone giving thorough reviews of LS equipment quality. I do appreciate the detail you gave and sad you found a really shitty dealership.
Thats not true! That's a sales gimmick from LS. They Source many of their parts from the same suppliers .... they have much different assembly lines and Quality Control process
I went with a Kubota cause it was the nearest tractor dealer in my area! Kubota is a hood tractor and many consider it over priced likes JD …like paying for the name! I’ve bought 2 tractors from them in the last 10 years and they’ve been great! I’m sure they made a lot of money off me.😂 No issues with my first tractor and only traded it in for a hydrostat with more HP! The failure on your tractor to me isn’t something that should have come apart ! You shouldn’t have to go around and tighten every bolt after 50 hrs. Fluid , filters and greasing is pretty much all that should need done! The dealer really blew you off! I would have come unglued with that type of failure and the dealer pretty much was trying to get away without repairing! It should have had a warrantee and in my experience when a car , truck ,tractor has a warrantee and the dealer beats around the bush not repairing it …..that means you paid for the warrantee but the dealer kept the money and didn’t submit the warrantee!
As I began watching this video, the more and more I thought - Is this guy talking about the LS dealer in my town cause it sure sounds like it. But no I live in Fredericton, New Brunswick. The LS dealer here is the same as you have, main business is selling travel trailers with cheap tractors on the side. I have heard so many horror stories about that place and LS being so cheap, all that warranty sounds great til it comes time fix it. As your finding out, dealer support is everything. I have always paid out the money on JD (My tractors are 115hp and up) when I have an issue I need it addressed today not next month. Caterpillar is a great example, you pay big $$$ for the name, but you will never beat the dealer service and parts network.
I don't think I will run right out and buy one of those LS tractors. There is more than enough drama in our lives these days without that kind of crap.
I appreciate your story. I’ve had my Kubota since 2003. The only failures I’ve had were my fault. Like taking out the hydrostatic pump pulling a 4’ box blade in high gear with a non OEM hydraulic fluid used at the last fluid change. (Won’t do that again). I won’t say Kubota dealer support has been the best, but they’ve been good enough. Less of a Kubota problem, more of a cranky family owned and employed dealer problem. When you leave, you know if they were have a good or bad day. For some of us, the support is worth it. I picked Kubota because there are parts everywhere. The >6 grand less can outweigh your experience though. Just plan on no warranty and not have to deal with someone like that. Good to know going in. Thank you for sharing your story. It helps us all.
I’ll be the first to admit that I’m a John Deere fanboy but you get what you pay for. Engineering, build quality, ergonomics, dealer support. I have a 65 yo JD. Still running , getting the job done. Coke I can still get parts and service.
Was just at an LS dealer in Utah last week. Priced a 25 hp with an FEL (basic equivalent to a K B2601) and the price was within a couple hundred dollars. If I found one that was 7,8,9k less I'd buy it and take my chances.
I'm researching tractors and dealers and the LS dealer I found also sells Mahindra and McCormick tractors, so hopefully they are better at fixing tractors and honoring warranties. Still don't know what brand I am going to go with, but I'm looking at several different makes and models.
I have a 2014 XR3037C it’s now been at Sutton Tractor (local LS dealer) in Tulsa for five months, they are no closer to fixing it or finding out why it will not complete the regen. In my opinion LS is a rip off. I have contacted LS corporate they opened a ticket three months ago. I have heard zero even after emailing them with the ticket number asking to see what if anything they will do about it. I am just being held hostage by LS who cannot fix it or get parts, meanwhile I make my monthly payment 😡 worst costumer service I have ever experienced!!!!!
I'm In California paid alot of money 4 the extended warranty I asked him at least r times your sure this covers the backhoe, bucket, rams everything oh yes sure we'll let me tell you my friend that was a lie backhoe had hiedaalic Leake had to pay 4 the parts and fix it myself, now it won't start any they want to charge me 4 the mechanic to come fix it I asked him about all this oh ya it's covers it all! Get in writing because the dealer straight up lied to my wife and I
u just had a crappy dealer. ls tractors are fine. all dealers dont want to put your warranty first if you didnt get it from them. its not just LS dealers its many others as well.
Still better than dealing with LG appliances... Anyway I've learned over the years do not play nice with crooks like that, no delays no getting to it later no making a deal, no feeling sorry for them. Sure mistakes happen and you give them a chance to make it right, but one chance. The second I saw the copper wire "fix", that dealer would no long be allowed to touch the machine (get an independent equipment mechanic) and I would have called a lawyer to get my compensation options. As for the equipment, with those industrial pattern skateboard wheels it hardly qualifies as a tractor. (The word derives directly from traction.) which is fine if you just want a cheap loader and hoe but its pretty limiting for other uses. I'm not saying low cost brands are all bad, but that design has some red flags visible a mile away.
I called my dealer because the front tires dry rotted and I was getting ready to move to another state. So he set a price and I took them to him. Well after 3 or 4 days I went to the dealer and he said they couldn't break them down so he took them to a garage to do it. So next day I went back to the dealer and he said if I picked them up he would take 50 bucks off the price, I said I could do that. This dealer has one mechanic working on tractors and lawnmowers, not good.
Dude, you get what you pay for. I've had a John Deere for nearly 4 years and have always receive amazing service from them. I haven't had anymore more than a lost cotter pin for repairs, and this is coming from a guy who is pretty rough on his tractor. Thanks for sharing, this has turned me off from the LS brand, I will take a Japanese or USA (with a Japanese made motor) made tractor any day over Korean.
To be honest, I haven't had to see ice one yet. But at a glance it's easily serviceable. All the filters are easy to get to. I guess we shall see, I'm selling my JD 3033 before a move and will move to a skidsteer instead.
Just found your channel. I’m also in New Hampshire and I’m doing my research now to purchase a tractor. I’ll go back and watch your other videos on this, but I’m curious if you have disclosed the name of the dealership? If you did in this, I missed it. I’m in Milton so my range basically is Concord east, down through Portsmouth and Brentwood. That’s routes 4, 125 and 1….with so many to choose from…and putting in as much time as I am to research, it really be angry if I got wrapped up with this dealership. A quality customer service dealership is on my list of “wants”, when I finally buy. Documentation is not only crucial, but today…so very easy!
@@TheRichardOlson same distance issue with TYM. I’ve really narrowed it down to YANMAR or Kioti….Mahindra is a maybe. In the end, I will likely end up with Kioti, there’s one in Chichester, although YANMAR was and is my first choice…but that’s north Hampton. I suspect that in the end, it will be whomever impressed me most on service and parts. I won’t go into Maine…taxes on a tractor, will equal a good implement and I’m not willing to make that trade off.
Thts a bad experience you had! Thats to bad. I will say I have a great LS dealer (Sumerix Implement) and i make sure to buy all my filters etc. from him too. Best service I could ever expect. Had 2 small warranty issues and they came to my house to fix it!! Its a shame bad dealers ruin an experience for a company.
Hello, How does this compare price wise with Kioti or Bobcat tractors? For me Bobcat offers more tractor for buck of all out there but not sure how LS compares to these 2. Thanks!
The worst mistake I ever made was buying a LS Tractor hade a 5 year warranty, but the shop hade it for the five years it borke down every time I tried to use it I was paying for a tractor that I could not use as soon as the warranty ran out I got ride of it lost 9000 dollars
I have a different brand of tractor, the dealer I bought my tractor from is not totally dishonest... more incompetent and with no customer service. Owned the tractor four months and still no operator manual. Two service calls and two months to replace the leaking loader hydraulic connectors. Worst customer service I have ever experienced.
Why argue with a mechanic? Seems silly. I appreciate the video, seems the LS is more cheaply made, and it definitely makes it harder to purchase it. You are better off selling it and moving to another brand. Good luck man.
Basically stay away from ls tractor. That's one reason why the big names charge more for the support system. Also resale on ls is garbage. Stick with john deere and kubota or new Holland or Massey. Even bobcat who is made by kioti tractor.
I've had my Massey Ferguson GC1710 for 7 years, not problem with it. The dealer even called me a month before the warranty was up to see if I had any problems, none whatsoever. Hats off to Card Brothers in Chesaning, Mi.
Yes, I wish I went another brand
Makes me want to buy massey!
I have a Massey Ferguson it’s really reliable
I have a New Holland 1530 I purchased new in 1997. At the time of purchase I did not know it was made by Shibura. My local New Holland dealer still has the parts I’ve needed to keep this machine maintained and running. Point being stick with brand names. You may pay a little more up front but as the years progress it nice knowing someone has your back…
LS now makes compact tractors for New Holland.
Yea, they not soo great. Kind of the ls standard they don't have good dealership standards
Im soo glad that your ls has been good!
How many hours on each?
Yupp. I just didnt like the blaim game amd not standing behind stuff. The trying to blaim me was bullshit
thats why my kubota dealer here in canada is called Good equipment because it has the best and good reputaion plus he fixes 100% any brands of tractors, forestry equipment, trailers, construction equipment small, med, large, lawn and garden equipment , engines, snowplows and wings on big trucks wich pretty good
i have a ls p7010 which i bought new almost 9 years ago and it has been a great tractor, a couple of minor issues which you will get with any brand you buy. dealer has been great with any questions and all service is done fast and efficient by them. i bought a ls k 5055 1 year ago with 1100 hours on it and it has been even better tractor than i anticipated.
True, it was 8000 more for the kubota
kubota has the best service and more reliable plus they have best discounts and savings
@@timtwing5886 kubota dealer here in pei and new brunswick and newfoundland and nova scotia are great dealers i get great service from them
Ls comes with 5 or 6 year standard on power train
Just wait
Thanks man for all the feedback
Hey, I can’t thank you enough, you’ve saved me so much time!! Thank you!!
Tym is great, same as rk, just saying.
None of those three are worth the money. In the long run you will pay more for repairs than what you can buy a kubota or deere for.
have had a 2025 for almost 7 years.. Have had a few issues but dealer took care all of them.. would absolutely buy again
This is an LS DEALER issue, not a tractor issue in my opinion, I have an LS tractor from a great dealer in Texas, never had one service issue with them at all, my tractor has had the normal maintenance and wear and tear issues, but my dealer was on it every time with great service and pricing.
Yes, i get that 1000%. I love my LS too!
Sadly there is only one in my entire state!
Awesome!!
Just that final prep/ assembly... that sounds like dealer prep issue
I HOPE they fix it for ya
I saw a video that said you have to have the RPMs over 2000 for that function to work
I have the LS MT345E.
Not just here, its nationwide. Very very few good dealers.
Thank you very much
I’m with you. I just lost my Kubota BX 25 in a fire and was looking into LS. Not now I guess I’ll stick with the Orange brand.
I repair myself, and the amount of small stuff wrong is mind boggling...
Well, you do not know if ylur dealer is good then do you?
@@TheRichardOlson you are right I have never used their service that’s why I said I can’t really comment on that. They were pleasant when I bought the tractor and when I’ve bought filters and such to do my own service. It could turn out if I need warranty work they show themselves to be All Dick’d Up.
You convinced me , I'm going to cancel my LS . I'm not interested in the dealership hassles like you experienced at all
Just wait to you see the next video
But lack of dealers too
Thanks for the intel. I was going to purchase one but they definitely scared me away with your experience.
If you don't have more than one dealer it's kind of a crap shoot
Sounds like Ned and Bruce lack integrity. Not smart to throw away a good customer like yourself
My sister bought an LS tractor about a year ago we use it all the time it’s been great for us and we have had great service with the dealership but maybe we are lucky that the owner is a nice guy bc if we had problems there is not really any other LS dealership near us to go to. We are an hour north of Houston Tx.
Yea hope that relationship doesnt fail eh?
Thanks for doing this video. I was considering getting an LS tractor but not anymore after watching your video. Regards.
I would say you are the exception not the normal.
Wait untill you have some issue or over 300 hours on that machine. They seem to have issues after 200hrs
i agree totally with your total comments. . home san antonio,tx. dealership closed... i have not tried the new one yet..

Yea no problem.. your story is sadly common...
Thanks man. It wont ladt 20 years tjats for SURE
"That's you, Ed! Hope you're watching." Golden. I like my LS3039, but there is NO dealer support.
Soo true
Of course he was pissed off... truth...
Thanks for the video was going look at the LS on my way to MB tractor glad I found this video first. I’ll stay with kubota always had good luck with the dealership .
Thanks for your info-clip which comes in handy for me since I am in the process of getting something
you have purchased and yes, thousands of $'s difference in price may be important too.
Thats the tractor dealer who I delt with thats the service to expect 🤣🤣 Dodged a bullet bigtime. Check my other tractor videos!
Thats awesome man! I love when things work well
They are junk.
Yes. And had there dealer close out of no where... do not count on dealer support
The dealer is the MOST important part of your purchase, the tractor is second. ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT! Buyers get hung up on the price of the tractor and that is secondary. Your painful experience is a lesson for every buyer!
Oh yeah I saved a bunch and I get to tell everyone how horrible it is
great pics of the damage/repair.
Yea the new hampshire dealer stinks. 1000%
I would look at the Kubota over the kioti.
Thats awesome and rare to hear!
Yea sadly. But there is only one in my state...
watched your video and your right....everything you said and did was right on par, i couldnt agree more....actually your much nicer about it then i would have been....i like those tractors too, in fact was just thinking about heading to the local dealer tomorrow to have a chat with him.....here in utah we have 2 different dealers local, thanks for your honesty on your video's... i tell people, when your honest with others, you have nothing to worry about....
Thanks man
Spend more money, have less headaches. You get what you pay for. Most long term reputable tractor brands are pretty good to deal with.
I wish we had the same experience
Good to know
Great information about the dealer.
I paid extra and got s a John Deere! No issue, great quality, no regrets. Good dealer support and parts if needed are plentiful.
Of course, New Holland and LS small tractors are identical. ...built on the same line in Korea by LS.
Thats not true! That's a sales gimmick from LS. They Source many of their parts from the same suppliers .... they have much different assembly lines and Quality Control process
@@TheRichardOlson …look at the serial number plate on the NH.
Anyway, it is common knowledge. Identical machines.
I went with a Kubota cause it was the nearest tractor dealer in my area! Kubota is a hood tractor and many consider it over priced likes JD …like paying for the name! I’ve bought 2 tractors from them in the last 10 years and they’ve been great! I’m sure they made a lot of money off me.😂
No issues with my first tractor and only traded it in for a hydrostat with more HP!
Honestly I kind of expected the dealer and support to be poor... The dealer was kind of hokey but I saved almost $10000 so what can I say.
There is no warranty.... A warranty is only as good as the man that sells it to you
Just got an MT345E and I love it.
Soo true its the sad part about LS
I don't think I will run right out and buy one of those LS tractors. There is more than enough drama in our lives these days without that kind of crap.
Yuup.
100% i paid 10k less then deere!
Was just at an LS dealer in Utah last week. Priced a 25 hp with an FEL (basic equivalent to a K B2601) and the price was within a couple hundred dollars. If I found one that was 7,8,9k less I'd buy it and take my chances.
Untill it breaks... then your doomed for parts
I'm researching tractors and dealers and the LS dealer I found also sells Mahindra and McCormick tractors, so hopefully they are better at fixing tractors and honoring warranties. Still don't know what brand I am going to go with, but I'm looking at several different makes and models.
This video made my decision to to not buy from him, thanks!
Too common of an issue sadly
I'm In California paid alot of money 4 the extended warranty I asked him at least r times your sure this covers the backhoe, bucket, rams everything oh yes sure we'll let me tell you my friend that was a lie backhoe had hiedaalic Leake had to pay 4 the parts and fix it myself, now it won't start any they want to charge me 4 the mechanic to come fix it I asked him about all this oh ya it's covers it all! Get in writing because the dealer straight up lied to my wife and I
Yea, Honestly hes probably doing you a favor.... Their tecs don't really have a high standard or mucg training...
u just had a crappy dealer. ls tractors are fine. all dealers dont want to put your warranty first if you didnt get it from them. its not just LS dealers its many others as well.
Yea, very normal... seems to be sadly
The front tires come new dry rotted lol
@@TheRichardOlson no I had the tractor for 6 years and lived in Florida
Mine are dry rotted... 2 years old now...
Dude, you get what you pay for. I've had a John Deere for nearly 4 years and have always receive amazing service from them. I haven't had anymore more than a lost cotter pin for repairs, and this is coming from a guy who is pretty rough on his tractor. Thanks for sharing, this has turned me off from the LS brand, I will take a Japanese or USA (with a Japanese made motor) made tractor any day over Korean.
kubota is the best reliable japenese engines in the world and they are accully pretty desent prices on the kubota engines
John Deere uses Yanmar engines from Japan, they are also incredibly reliable.
@@Devin82m i never liked yanmar engines because there accully over priced on parts and its a night meirror to service on
To be honest, I haven't had to see ice one yet. But at a glance it's easily serviceable. All the filters are easy to get to. I guess we shall see, I'm selling my JD 3033 before a move and will move to a skidsteer instead.
@@Devin82m my buddy just bought 3 kubota svl75-2's wich was cheap for $48,000with buckets and forks with them

Well unfortunate for you the closest dealer that's decent is in Maine. The tractor place Of nh is the worst. Owners are as bad as it gets
Tractor place Of NH. He owns a place in mass too
@@TheRichardOlson same distance issue with TYM.
This has helped me to decide on a different brand. Dealer support is key. Sorry LS. You need to do better.
They have horrible support! Good choice!
Dealer support means Everything 🙏🙏
LS dealer support is non-existent
Thts a bad experience you had! Thats to bad. I will say I have a great LS dealer (Sumerix Implement) and i make sure to buy all my filters etc. from him too. Best service I could ever expect. Had 2 small warranty issues and they came to my house to fix it!! Its a shame bad dealers ruin an experience for a company.
Hello,
How does this compare price wise with Kioti or Bobcat tractors? For me Bobcat offers more tractor for buck of all out there but not sure how LS compares to these 2. Thanks!
The worst mistake I ever made was buying a LS Tractor hade a 5 year warranty, but the shop hade it for the five years it borke down every time I tried to use it I was paying for a tractor that I could not use as soon as the warranty ran out I got ride of it lost 9000 dollars
At least it was getting "fixed" lol
I have a different brand of tractor, the dealer I bought my tractor from is not totally dishonest... more incompetent and with no customer service. Owned the tractor four months and still no operator manual. Two service calls and two months to replace the leaking loader hydraulic connectors. Worst customer service I have ever experienced.
Yea the LS brand just doesn't stand behind there machines...
😂🤣🤣😂Yip, you talked me into spending the extra 6-8k
the only problem i have come across ..... the loader bucket has no way on knowing when the bucket is level... wish I knew a way to know
Why argue with a mechanic? Seems silly. I appreciate the video, seems the LS is more cheaply made, and it definitely makes it harder to purchase it. You are better off selling it and moving to another brand. Good luck man.
and let me guess, probably no escalation method through the manufacturer right?
@@kevinmckinley3305 I don't know I just gave up sourcing parts from another manufacturer. On my dime
Thanks Dick for the info..
Cool, thanks for watvhing!
Lol
Yep, you got it right with your title.
Basically stay away from ls tractor. That's one reason why the big names charge more for the support system. Also resale on ls is garbage. Stick with john deere and kubota or new Holland or Massey. Even bobcat who is made by kioti tractor.
Looks like we need to find a good source fo shop manuals
Look in the fourms.. lots of guys out there doing thw lawrds work lol
