Yay good luck, I can't wait to see your progress videos. You aren't kidding about the competition, last year's winner's was insane!! ! I have a corno di toro in mine lol but it was the only pepper variety I could find in my stash, my fire and ice seeds disappeared somewhere. Of course, after I started the corno I ordered some flower seeds online and lo and behold they threw in a packet of fire and ice pepper seeds with the order haha, so I might get a second can going with those. I'll be surprised if the corno does well at all since it is definitely not a mini pepper variety.

if you give it adequate fertilizer it would probably do ok. I've seen some people grow some crazy peppers in cans but yeat those corno peppers do get rather large so will be interesting to see what yours does. I should try a larger variety just for fun.

Never heard of hard tea 🤔And 8% at that 😮Nice looking cans, and awesome tip with leaving a bit at the top! I need to make up my mind what to grow in cans this season and start them soon. Think I have some StarrLing seeds as well actually! Looking forward to seeing updates for this over the season.

Yah I hadn't heard of hard tea either until I came across this stuff. You should do StarrLing in a can too! :)

What happens if/when they get root bound? Do the roots come out the holes like with your double solo cup technique?
    Love your videos!

Sometimes a few roots might come out the holes but usually they just coil around inside the can. It's against the challenge rules for the roots to come out the bottom actually.

Beautiful. What do you do with the old cans?

I toss the plant in the compost and old cans go in the garbage. Though I still have one from last season in the greenhouse that I haven't tossed out yet. I'm sure its deader than a door nail though.
