So glad you liked these! Great review! I just bought a surround system for my Brother-in-law (they just moved into a very nice home in Kentucky...it's his 1st EVER surround system!) and here's what the setup is:
Jamo S 807 Towers for the Fronts, Micca MB42 Center, Klipsch SUB-100 10-incher, and a Sherwood RD-6500 AV Receiver, and it sounds fantastic! And all for about $525!! if you can believe it!
One really doesn't need to spend a fortune for a great system! 😊😄🤩 Love your channel!

hello, is it worth buying the s809 over the s807 if I am only using them 95% of the time for movies an set to small in my receiver?

  • @K03sport

nice review. funny, it is the Atmos toppers that drew me to the S809 towers. I also like that they are taller than my Infinity Primus 262 I've had for 20 years. would do the front+center+atmos (all in black) as I already have a sub. I'd love to do a speaker build from parts-express, but this jamo route might be more economical

That's a really tough choice. I haven't heard the emotivas but I heard they're really good. I'm also a fan of folded ribbon tweeters giveb that I own GoldenEar speakers. I would say go with the emotivas but be weary that they're a 4ohm speaker and you'll need an amp that can handle 4ohm loads.

I understand what you're saying but there are some limitations to how successfully that can be done. For one, the quality of the microphone recording the speakers, then you have the quality of the device where you're watching the video (Most likely a phone), and finally you have RUclips's video and audio compression. Creators also stay away from this because music that anyone would want to listen to is copyrighted, which would cause the video to be demonetized. This leaves only copyright free tracks most likely provided by RUclips. I'll do some experimenting on my end to see if I can come up with a solution. Crutchfield actually implemented a program called SpeakerCompare which is a "Patented Virtual Audio™ technology for auditioning speakers online." You should check it out with your best set of headphones though. www.crutchfield.com/S-51BhMlMZSCA/speakercompare/default.aspx
