Mi 10 Pro does better overall, but I'm honestly impressed at how well the P30 Pro can hold it's own against it, considering it's last years version. Looking forward to what the P40 is gonna bring to the table. Solid comparison. Thanks!

You are impressed even though they both look worse than three year old Samsung or Apple phones? Huawei in particular has had poor quality video for years. Originally it was a bandwidth issue of their non-competitive Kirin chip, but nowadays it's just their generally terrible encoding, framerate, and EIS implementation. I guess everything looks great in a bubble. Newer also doesn't mean "better".

@@aoikemono6414 iPhone 11 Pro is impressive, before that not so much. Samsung doesn't even take pictures, they do draw pretty good paintings though.
8 months later the P30 Pro is still among the best. Can't imagine what the P40 Pro will bring to us

P30 pro destroys the mi10 for me. I have more trouble with getting far shots than clear close shots.

That video stability even better than on iPhones, MI 10 Pro, a round buy. And I would choose MIUI over EMUI any time of the year.

One remark regarding the low light shots around 4:40 in the video: the persons in the Mi10 pro are more blurred (motion blur); in my opinion, this demonstrates an advantage of the P30 pro when considering low light shots of moving subjects. This is probably due to the combination of higher ISO and the brighter lens on the P30 pro.

Can you tell me why you chose not to use the Huawei Mate 30 Pro to compare against the new Xiaomi phones? The P30 Pro is now a year old, and the Mate has the better low light edge over the P30? Especially in video. You've noted that yourself in your review of the Mate 30?

I know first hand that Huawei needs to figure out auto focus and quickly. I have a P30 Pro and the focus NEVER ever stays where I want it. It either forgets to focus, or straight up will not focus. Even if I do land focus, it keeps dropping in and out of focus constantly.
Go to the Pro mode and when you get your focus long press the AutoFocus Burton and it will LOCK focus.
@@dhaoracle Yeah but that isn't autofocus then. That's just manual focus on a single point, other brands manage focus fine, I think it's just the Kirin chipsets suffer majorly with anything to do with Video recording
2:12 Both are quite poor?? All I can see is a very clear 5x zoom from Mi 10. It's true that P30 lacks in the auto focus at the beginning but where exactly is the poorness on Mi 10? Ok it's 5x not 1x, I mean it's impossible to get the greatest quality as in the non zoom mode.

i have p30 pro my self and the stabilization is nowhere near as bad as your device unlike all the other reviews i saw so there may be something wrong with your devices OIS.the only thing i hope is would they let us disable the EIS when we record video because at night the stutering in the footage is pretty frustrating at times.but it is much less noticable in the 1080 60fps mode
Hi. Could you please test the true capabilities of those cameras for videos using the Filmic Pro app and its Neutral and Log profiles? It should unleash the true capabilities through higher bitrates, less oversharpening, flatter image and higher dynamic range. Being so heavily focused on both photos and videos, I'd like to see the Mi 10 Pro put under stress.

@@Techtablets It's not that expensive, in my humble opinion. I would buy it for my phone if it had support for it (my Mi A2 doesn't have support for camera api 2). The normal tests for dynamic range that you make should be enough to see the difference, but maybe try looking for scenes with dark shadows and bright sun (like from inside looking at a wall with a window)

That process of changing between lenses is supposedly thanks to the processor capturing two simultaneous videos so the processor just has to be powerful enough. I'm guessing that if other brands can do it then Xiaomi could if they wanted. However, xiaomi rarely adds important features after the release so I doubt they'll add either the EIS in the front facing camera or the option to swap between lenses while recording.

So wired how the p30 has great stability on pictures and worse stability in videos. Overall the p30 good at daylight and night and zoom photos but its chipset can't handle video as pixel, galaxy and mi10

Ho avuto il P30 pro per una settimana, ho effettuato il reso perché i colori sono estremamente innaturali per i ritratti e per le foto con luce artificiale..trasforma il marrone in arancione e viceversa e inserisce il giallo la dove non deve, i volti lì ingiallisce oppure li sbianca..presumo che avendo un RYYB hanno lavorato molto male sul software , molto molto male, peccato perche ha un hardware davvero interessante

Well i think you should wait a few days until your device had the same firmware that DxOMark had. Xiaomi started rolling this firmware out on 5/3 the day you uploaded this video (so most likely your device had the previous firmware).... This was officially announced by Xiaomi so you should wait to do a proper comparison, but overall i always enjoy your reviews and tests.

Not even 4k quality on a bright sunny day. It's a waste of space to even record in that resolution. P30 Pro still exhibiting it's trademark random flickering near artificial lights as well as general stuttering. The EIS induced shimmering and ghosting in low-light, as usual, is vomit inducing on both phones, and at least on the P30 Pro the last time I used it, could not be turned off. Basically don't you dare move when recording in low light! And Huawei still demands a premium.
Huawei is poor at video hopefully that will change sooner or later
the Huawei p30 sometimes does not include stabilization.

Those are just things that xiaomi takes ages to fix. And now it's not a matter of money like the dual speakers, huge batteries or great screens, it's a software issue that they don't try to figure out, like the problem we had with the status bar icons or the notifications on the lock screen, so we'll have to wait until they decide to do something.

Something's wrong with your P30 pro. The video's stabilization in my P30 pro is a lot better. My video's doesn't shake that much. I can't agree with you.
Yes I must have a faulty unit. Funny how that's always the case. 100% of time. But you do know you can't disable stabilization? So I have a broken P30 Pro. But if I buy a brand new one the shake will be exactly the same.
The problem could be software related too. I'm saying this because, I've recorded a lot of video using P30 pro. Yeah, the stabilization isn't the best, but it doesn't shake that much. I could show you some samples if I had any ways to send those to you. Hope you can understand.

I think in NORMAL usage Mi10 Pro is winner. Most people do not zoom in as much for just normal shots. The Image stabilization is also a winner. I got a P30 because of all the hype around the camera, I am VERY disappointed in some of the shots.
I wonder why almost Xiaomi phone (flagship) stutter lag or delay when panning is there something not optimize on there Android-Skin/Camera software or their camera hardware issue.
Always software, the best option is to wait, open (unlock) bootloader and get XIAOMI EU ROM, everything is smoother and battery is way better.

I noticed that a lot of Chinese phones cameras like to beautify people's faces and I prefer the natural look from the pixel or iPhone. before the phone came out they were saying that United States prices should be around 715 dollars. I seen pre-order prices for close to $1,000. That seems a little steep for a xiaomi phone.

p30 phones had unaccurate colors in flower shots and worse white balance in general as i saw in other old reviews, so i guess they must have corrected it

Mi Note 10 or P30 Pro? It is a little bit hard question for me. Did the xiaomi solve freeze problem at the Mi Note 10 when anyone wants to change the viewing angle so fast?
No the lag or freeze is there still the shutter delay and swapping lenses

i have the p30 pro the mi 10 pro and the realme x2 pro overall they all have their own edge but one thing the p30 brings is usb 3.1 the others dont and that means ethernet over dongle can reach over 1 gigabit the mi 10 can only do 300 mbit and the x2 pro can only do 150 mbits over 4g so my p30 pro is not yet ready for retirement they all have exelent performance and charging speeds but its the litle things that matter

at 1:32 if you stop the video P30 have a little more detail in the frame. at 1:38 the word "velasyviento" is more clear on the p30 pro
