Those sailboats were probably abandoned by their owner or owners. That is a very real problem in Florida in waters all over the state from the Panhandle to the Keys. Nice trip. I need to see if I can find a boat along the lines as yours. Mine is a pintokn and I carry a tent and go to fishing camps that also have tent sites, but I've just gotten over cancer so my camping days are pretty much over! 😊. I never have gone this way, I stay on the main river and go stay at a fishing camp on the eastern shore of Lake George. Its nice in calm wind days but when the wind is up, its a bit nasty to transit it.

I know of a project HOBO for sale in Lakeland, and a recently refurbished one in Tallahassee will be up for sale soon (see youtube channel Be-A-Hobo).Also look for the Facebook group "Hobo houseboats" if you are interested.
