    I’m 39 and somehow this game never made it in to my game quiver as a kid. I’m absolutely going to play this soon, but upset that I won’t have the nostalgia. Hate how back in the day you could so easily miss out on good games!

      Hey, I totally get that! It’s amazing how some classics can slip through the cracks, especially with so many great games back in the day. But the good news is, Castlevania still holds up really well, even without the nostalgia goggles! It’s got that challenging gameplay and iconic soundtrack that just never get old. Hope you enjoy your first playthrough-better late than never, right? 😊 Let me know what you think once you dive in!

    It's pretty ridiculous Symphony of the night never come to Nintendo system sony really dont want this game to be on any Nintendo console i guess

      Yeah, it’s wild, right? Symphony of the Night would be perfect on a Nintendo system, especially with how many fans of the series are on Switch these days. It’s one of those games that feels like it should’ve been everywhere by now. Hopefully, one day they’ll make it happen! Fingers crossed we see it on Switch 2!

      I’ve got a feeling we’ll see the Switch 2 reveal soon, maybe even this September, with a release in the first half of 2025. A more powerful console will definitely bring those AAA third-party games back to Nintendo fans! @thunderstashgaming i dont think Switch successor will be able to sell 100m like the Switch. Maybe around 50m max

    • @thunderstashgaming
      @thunderstashgaming  Месяц назад

      That’s a fair point-matching the Switch’s success will be a big challenge. Currently the Switch has sold around 143 million units. The Switch really hit a sweet spot with its portability, versatility, and a stellar game library. Ultimately, people buy consoles for the games, and Nintendo’s IPs are some of the most beloved in the industry. The Switch has sold an impressive 1.23 billion pieces of software as of May 2024, showing just how much fans are engaged.
      Plus, we shouldn't underestimate the sales impact of Nintendo’s broader entertainment ventures like Super Nintendo World, the Mario movie and its sequel, and the upcoming Legend of Zelda live-action movie. These can all be major sales drivers for Nintendo's new console! With all the said, historically speaking when a console hits record sales numbers, there's usually a sizeable sales drop-off with the successor. Nintendo, Sony and Xbox have experienced and lived through that reality. Either way, I'm excited to see it all unfold! And for more on this, be sure to catch our discussions on the Nintenbyte podcast-we’re diving into all these possibilities!

    I first heard of Castlevania on the N64 but never played it, even though it got great reviews. Last weekend, I started playing NES, SNES, and Sega Genesis games on NSO, and I tried Castlevania, which I think was on Genesis. Now, with the new Castlevania Dominus Collection coming to Switch, it's the perfect time to dive into the series! 🎮🦇 I’ll keep playing the classics on NSO + Expansion Pack. Great video, by the way! 🎉

The Dominus Collection on Switch is definitely a great opportunity to experience more of the series. Glad you enjoyed the video-hope you have a blast with all the retro games on NSO + Expansion Pack! 🎮🦇 And stay tuned, I’ve got more Castlevania reviews coming up that you might enjoy!

      Wow, 70 hours of AC Syndicate plus DLC-that’s some dedication! Are you planning on picking up AC Shadows? A break with some classic games sounds perfect. The Nintendo Championship is an awesome way to get back into retro gaming. I grew up with the NES and never stopped playing, so retro gaming is a foundational part of my DNA. I’m really glad to hear you’re diving back into the retro scene! I had a lot of fun reviewing Nintendo World Championships and even made my first-ever 'no commentary' guide for it! Thanks so much for the kind words about my reviews; I’m happy you find them detailed and enjoyable! I recently made the jump to being a full-time RUclipsr, and it’s been an amazing journey so far. I think Switch 2 will be revealed or leaked before TGS, with the PS5 Pro coming after. What do you think?
      Super Star Wars series on SNES would be awesome to see reviewed 🌟🚀I’d also like to hear your opinion on Concord for PS5 vs. PC. Why do you think the game has failed, and what should Sony do to get people to play it?

      Hey jarleklausenmusic, thanks for the awesome comment! 🎮 It’s exciting that you’re picking up AC Shadows-the choice between the PS5 Pro and the potential Switch 2 is definitely a tough one! Personally, I’m 100% picking up the Switch 2 and am way more excited for Nintendo’s new console than for the PS5's mid-console life cycle upgrade. I play my PS5 quite a bit and am happy with its performance. The PS4 Pro made sense with its support for 4K TVs and HDR, so I’m curious to see what the PS5 Pro will offer. However, the Switch 2 has me far more excited, and I’m looking forward to picking up games that I know or think will be available on it.
      I’m thrilled you enjoyed my Castlevania reviews! I’ll be sure to dive into the NWC review soon. That’s cool to hear about your gaming journey-from Moon Buggy to the PS1 and N64! Classic games have such a special place in my heart, too. I actually remember Moon Buggy, that was a fun game!
      It sounds like you’ve got an epic weekend planned with Castlevania Bloodlines and Castlevania Legends! 🕹️ As for the Switch 2 and PS5 Pro speculation, it’s definitely interesting to see how the timing will play out. I agree that both announcements could come soon, but it’s all just a wait-and-see game.
      The NSO + Expansion Pack really does offer a fantastic library of classic games across so many systems. It’s great to hear you’re making the most of it! Do you have any standout favorites or hidden gems you’ve discovered recently? I’d love to hear about your top picks! Also, I think it's really cool that Nintendo went back and added online play to old games like Super Mario Kart and Mario Kart 64 just to name a couple.
      Enjoy it! Bloodlines is such a great game! The music in stage 4 is the absolute best, easily my favorite song in Bloodlines! What a coincidence, I have Castlevania Legends on my short list of Gameboy games to play too.
      The Super Star Wars series on SNES is a fantastic suggestion-I’ll definitely keep that in mind! I rented them quite a few times growing up and I do own them physically. Those games did a really nice job with the soundtrack too.🌟🚀 Interestingly, Sony just announced today that they’re removing Concord from their online store after just 10 days and issuing refunds due to the negative reception. We'll have to see what happens with Concord but I'm following the situation closely as I do with all gaming news. If you have any other game suggestions or thoughts, I’m all ears! 😊🎮
      Thanks again for the kind words about my reviews and my new dream job as a full-time RUclipsr! I’m loving the journey so far, and I appreciate your support! 🎮👍

      @thunderstashgaming  Месяц назад +1

      Ah, I like that answer-'both' is a great way to sum it up! Castlevania definitely has its classic charm and some outdated quirks that make it an interesting experience. What parts of the game do you find classic or outdated? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

    • @Jokerwolf666
      @Jokerwolf666 Месяц назад +1

      @@thunderstashgaming The knockback and jump arcs are the biggest classic parts that hold that feel for me. The game itself is pretty well paced but It suffers from the artificially inflated playtime that many games of the era had because of those types of design choices.

    • @thunderstashgaming
      @thunderstashgaming  Месяц назад +1

      Great points! The knockback and jump arcs really do capture that classic feel-love or hate them, they’re definitely part of what makes old-school Castlevania unique. I totally get what you mean about the artificially inflated playtime; it was definitely a way to keep us playing longer back then! That's why it's sometimes hard for me to say how long the game is in the review because it's going to vary greatly for each player. Despite those quirks, there's still something special about conquering those challenges. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

    Sweet, I managed to pick up the Castlevania Anniversary Collection from Limited Run after your recommendation on physical for Switch. Haven't played too much of Castlevania, but now I have this review to help manage my expectations. Looking forward to the game and the bosses look epic. Enjoying the fact some weapons are impractical against bosses. Dominus Collection also looks amazing, will be looking out for it at LRG.

      Nice pick up! The Castlevania Anniversary Collection is a fantastic way to dive into the series, especially with that sweet physical edition from Limited Run! The bosses are definitely a highlight-some are really tough but super rewarding once you get their patterns down. And yeah, figuring out which weapons work best (or not!) adds a fun layer of strategy. I’m excited to hear your thoughts once you get into it. The Dominus Collection looks awesome too-I downloaded it the other day and will be picking it up physically once LRG puts it up for preorder! You should also check out the Castlevania Advance Collection. It's got all 3 of the GBA Metroidvania games and it goes on sale digitally fairly often. Was this an arcade cabinet before the NES game? I played this for the first time in the anniversary collection on switch and loved it. Recently went to a free play arcade and found a cabinet. Controls felt super sloppy on the cab and I immediately felt angry and sad for people pumping quarters into this thing back in the day.

    • @thunderstashgaming
      @thunderstashgaming  Месяц назад

      There was a Castlevania cabinet using the Nintendo PlayChoice 10 system under the name 'VS. Castlevania'. Is that the one you played? Konami also released a game called Haunted Castle the same year as Castlevania that is very similar. Haunted Castle is definitely a quarter muncher if that's the one you played. It’s unfortunate to hear that the arcade cabinet’s controls were disappointing-sometimes those old machines don’t hold up as well as we’d hope. At least you had a good time with the Anniversary Collection version! Thanks for sharing your experience!" Also, here is a picture of the Vs. Castlevania arcade. Both Haunted Castle and VS Castlevania are rare arcade so if you got to play either one of them that is really awesome! castlevania.fandom.com/wiki/VS._Castlevania

      @@thunderstashgaming Yea that’s the cab. If you didn’t hit the joystick just right it would register a crouch. The jump and whip buttons also felt delayed. Could have just been an old worn out cab though. Didn’t end up spending much time on it because the pinball machines were calling my name.

    • @thunderstashgaming
      @thunderstashgaming  28 дней назад

      Hey, thanks for confirming! It sounds like the joystick issues and button delays were a major letdown-old arcade cabinets can definitely suffer from wear and tear. It’s a shame that it didn’t hold up better, but I’m glad you enjoyed the Castlevania Anniversary Collection on Switch!
      Pinball machines are always a blast, so I can’t blame you for heading over to those. I'd love to own a full sized pinball machine but I have the next best thing which is one of the Star Wars Arcade1Up Digital Pinball machines. I did a few mods to it like removing the standard plexiglass and replacing it with tempered glass. Almost makes it look like the screen jumped from SD to HD with the tempered glass. Then I added all of the Zen Pinball and Pinball Arcade tables to it. Playing the Back to the Future and Jurassic Park pinball games is a lot of fun!
