I was watching another documentary about Versace's killer and was wondering why Versace didn't have security guards. This documentary answered my question. In Miami, at that time no-one bothered the well known.

His clothes he’s were not that expensive when GV first started, well not as expensive as in the early 90’s with the silk shirts. I bought a flannel grey no collar short at this small novelty store for about $35. This was 81-82 and I guess GV was trying to get his clothes in any store he could. I think the label said Gianni Versace Design.
A few years later GV was getting some attention for his clothes and design and before that, hardly anyone knew who he was. I only noticed GV for his wild design in the Italian men’s vogue ads in the early 80’s.
When he launched he’s first women’s perfume in 82, he made a appearance at Macy’s San Francisco and I went to meet him. I told him I wanted to get in the fashion business and he just said good luck and signed something, I don’t think he spoke English very well in 82. He had very soft hands. I found out from one of the fashion directors at Macy’s that he was having a private fashion show at the St. Frances hotel, but it was sold out. They said they would let me know if there’s any cancellations. So a few hours later they called me from Macy’s and said I would be able to buy a ticket for $50. I rushed to pick up the ticket and had to buy a GV item to wear. I wasn’t rich and don’t even have a job and only 18 years old. But I found this great 3/4 jacket in turquoise color marked down to half price in my size with a broken zipper. So I showed up all dolled up and everyone else was pretty conservative and in suits.
Anyway, I love discovering ppl. before the rest of the world eventually did and again I was right about GV. Back then, when you were into new great things, the rest of the world thought you were weird bc of the mindset of ppl. back then. When I wore GV back then before ppl. knew about him, ppl. thought I was a freak and strange. Glad ppls. minds are finally opening up after 40 years.

28:37 This is the real Versace.
He became a professional who soon learned to play the game.
Fashion industry is quite evil and disheartening.
It's a game. He played it. Only his few most close friends knew him.
There's a a kind of defamatory vibe on the way some people talked about him in this documentary.
32:27 Who is this? Versace's prosecutor? He is expert on "Versace's problems.
I didn't know Versace was on trial.
I wonder if he wrote a book
    😂
It's a TV documentary. What can we expect?
He should have kept his money on the bank. What did her do to acquire his fortune doesn't matter.
"Versace's Trial" should be the title of this TV piece.
    51:16 *"I love life...*
Now we need the truth about his death.

NAKED'' Liam said to him ''ok you can do it but mate im here eating sausages and you're talking about talking pictures of me in the nude.. '' haha

In my country Italy gay men are generally accepted as long as they talk & act like real men & are discreet, but not the passive effeminate flamboyant gay stereotypes, they're still being made fun of & sometimes even killed. So when people are other than what we tolerate then it might not be as universal as what something is in reality 24/7.
