Love hearing your voice, it's just soooo relaxing!
Thank you! 😊😊😊😊
Yeahhh sooo true :P
Agreed
Lee Hannah, you are right
That paint looks awesome. However, as someone that knows oil paint very well, it's not really like oil, but I wasn't expecting it to be because oil paint is of course oil based, unlike the other paints. Oil paint doesn't dry fast at all, so you are able to get very smooth and vibrant mixes of color that is almost impossible with other mediums. But, it does has the vibrance of oil, however, so does acrylic, haha.
Regardless, I would never betray my beloved oil paint, but for other mediums, it's the perfect paint for me because I was looking for something that was like acrylic, gouache and watercolor combined.
Thanks for the insight! If you do give this paint a go, lemme know how it goes for you 👍👍
SemiSkimmedMin I sure will
I started using water-solvent oil painting (Cobra) some years ago because I was diagnosed with a lung problem (and we know linseed-solvent oil-based smells so... so). I must say I find the same pleasure as with the "old" solvent. Maybe you could give it a try ;-)
After watch so many unqualified and extremely badly made reviews it was very refreshing to find a real professional like you, your reviews are excellent , please continue making more of professional artists paints
i really enjoyed this! can you make a video about the difference between gouache and other mediums such as acrylic?
Sorry to use this video to gush but you have very quickly become my favourite youtuber: the filming and editing of your videos is unique and fantastic and your art is mind blowingly beautiful. So thank you for sharing your talent with us! 💕
Ahh I have no words to tell you how grateful I am for such a kind and heart-felt comment. Thank you so much for reaching out
Loved the painting of the deer! I'm gonna have to try painting on glass.
Thanks :) painting on glass is definitely a fun new experience 👍🏽👍🏽
I love how you made this video to be honest
Thank you very much for reviewing AQYLA and for such a lovely lovely video. You are incredible.
Thank you for introducing me to this amazing product!
I love this kind of video. It's so cool that you push yourself and work with a new medium
I liked the video, I had no idea people were trying to create new mediums--ignorant of me I guess. I came across this video through searching watercolor/gouache. thanks for giving the info/sample in the video
Aw the woodland piece you created with it is beautiful
Thank you so much :)
I love your videos and all of these paintings turned out beautifully, particularly the deer on glass! The paints look nice and have really vibrant, full pigments, but I don’t really see how they are that different from standard acrylic paint? Because you can also mix acrylic with water to get watercolor effects, build it up in thick layers, and work with it on paper, canvas, glass, wood, etc. I suppose the time that you can re-wet acrylic paint is only a few minutes rather than a month. Still, I’d be curious to know what vehicle they are using with the pigments to call it a new medium.
Okay. Pigments or dyes? Light fast Ratings? Your demo was excellent. I enjoy your non biased approach.
I love to see this type of video! I didn't even know gouache existed before I started watching you. It's great to learn about a new tool from a trusted source before you buy in.
You should do more of these, it was really helpfull and your final drawing with the deer was beautiful
This paint definitely looks like it's worth a go. Thanks for this thorough review!
Thank you :)
The way you made that painting using the paper and the glass is so cool.
Loved it!! And the glass painting looked gorgeous
Great review! I hadn't heard of this type of paint before. It's really surprising to see a new type of paint come out that doesn't fit under the other paint types (oil, watercolour etc.) ... very cool. Thanks for sharing!
Yes it's really interesting to try something brand new! Thanks for watching :)
I like watching your review videos i think it helps people with seeeing if a products good or not.
I love product reviews so I just subscribed. Keep them coming :)
Thank you, that's great to hear! And welcome to the fam!
I loved the video and the painting! 😁 I'm quite new to your channel so i searched for a video where we can see you talking, just to feel a bit more connected rather than jumping straight into the videos with painting only - now I'll definitely check out the other ones!
I love these kind of vids. they are really good to discover new art supplies!=) And the way you explain everything is so detailed is a good way to see if it is something for me or not... i love the fact that you can paint on glass...the painting you did on glas turned out amazing!!
and btw i love your hair!(;
Thank you, thank you, thank you :) I'm glad you liked it and I'm happy I covered everything. The painting on glass was definitely my favourite. Thanks again my love 😊😊🙌🏾
I absolutely love the feel of your channel, it's so relaxing. I can't ever not feel inspired after watching one of your videos. It's so amazing :^)
Thank you, that's so kind 😊😊
Thanks to show us this new product, it really look cool to use.
Wow it sounds amazing, I am definitely going to try it. THanks for the review^-^
Nice review on the new product..
I liked this video, it's interesting seeing other products being tested. Thanks!
Looks interesting! I'm in Tokyo right now and will look for this paint and try it out too! Lovely work on the deer in the forest image by the way!
Ooh let me know how you get on if you find it. And thank you :)
Minnie you look stunning in this vid
Hey, Minnie! I wondered if you've ever tried Sakura Gouache. I was thinking of trying them out because of the price and the reviews, but I've only ever used Holbein Artist's Gouache, and I'm scared it would be too much of a downgrade. It could've been a mistake because my first experience with the medium was Holbein (thanks for your recommendation :D)
I love how honest and detailed this was! I would like to try Aqyla now..
If you apply it to ceramics or something, will you need to put a glaze over to make it stay or no?
I don't believe so, as far as I know, once it's set after a month, it's set.
That's pretty neat. I like the color range. And the price is pretty great.
Oohhh, I am very interested in this paint. Thank you for the review!
I'm rly excited to try them out! thank you so much!!!
I love trying new medias! and You made me wanna try these. Great job!
This video was amazing, I loved and thoroughly enjoyed every second. x
loved your review, pretty much answered everything I'd usually ask about a product (also the artwork was great!)
Fab! I'm so glad I was thorough enough :P I was super nervous that I would just be rambling on and on haha
So interesting! I would love to try these someday!
Amazingly comprehensive review, thank you!
Thanks! 💕
Never heard of this paint before, intereted to try it out now! thanks for such an imformative video too!
Really interesting to see a paint so versatile! Definitely looking in this paint :)
Yes very cool! I'm excited to keep testing and seeing what this paint can do :)
I primarily use gouache and love it, tho I use it primary for watercolor looks. But this looks like an even more versitile gouache!
Oooo! Thanks for the review! Looks very interesting? I love you earnings btw! I recognize them! You can never have too much marble 😊
I forgot to ask! Do they sell it in Amazon?
Haha yes! You remember! I'm gonna have to start wearing them all the time since they disappear and camouflage into my furniture every time I put them down :P thanks for watching love 💕💕
+Luna Jones yes I forgot to mention actually, they do! I think it's a little price it there though, I might be wrong.
+Luna Jones *pricier
+SemiSkimmedMin thank you so much! 😊
I would certainly love to see you try new things. When I, as a viewer, watch your video's, I am hoping to learn things and find ways to expand myself as an artist. Therefore, your opinion on products such as these, carries a bit of weight to it. You love gouche, and you are the reason why I have been actively trying to find a good gouche to try. Price and quality are always important for me. I need something high in quality and colour, but low in price. So an item review like the Aqyla, is helping me to figure out what to try. I trust your opinion more than I would someone who is trying to earn a commission in a store lol.
That means a lot to me, to know that you trust my opinions and experiences of new things. Also, I love that you're looking to try some good gouache, I hope you love it as much as I do! Thank you so much for your comment and thank you for watching :)
+SemiSkimmedMin Thank you for making such great videos and for offering your words of wisdom to us beginners :)
If you have some more ideas on what kinds of brands would be good to start with, I'd love to know your thoughts. I'm Australian tho so some of the products you like are hard to come by here
Interesting. I'd like to know more about its constituent parts - what is it chemically, how is it made? (I'll look it up on their website.) I knew about gouache or a while, but only just 'discovered' it to work with, and am loving it.
sounds neat
loved this video, I might try these paints they look interesting so ty for sharing with us. P.s. you hair and earring combo really suit you :)
Thank you for this. Very helpful and informative.
Really enjoyed this video! Would love to see you try more mediums!
Thank you! I'm definitely gonna try and push myself out of my comfort zone more often :)
Love your channel! I'm a new subscriber, I've been looking for a really good Art Channel and I think I've found one. I also LOVE your voice haha!
Aw welcome! And thank you so much haha
Enjoyed the review 👍🏼 And think it would be great if you reviewed other things; I trust you wouldn't bring up anything you didn't support yourself. Seeing you try new products or even push your own boundaries with the same medium for example, inspires me to do the same. 🐧💟✌🏼️
It was a informative video , I can see how it can be used like water color , acrylic and gouache. The oil I'm not sure about. The best part was the painting on different surfaces and no varnish
Yeah, for me its closest to watercolour and acrylics. I can't wait to paint on more different surfaces :P all the surfaces!!
Ok thats great to know , let me know how it turns out when you try it on wood and metal lol :)
This paint looks awesome!! And your doe painting looks amazing!!! I want it! I'd buy it tbh i love the glass!! You shoukd so more glass work
Thank you, I'll definitely be doing more glass work, it's so fun!
The future of painting.
loved it wow.
I'm sure we will be hearing of these a lot more in the near future
Very informative! I would really like to try them.
Thanks, I hope you get to try them one day 👍
Hm, interesting. Maybe be when I get my paycheck I'll try this out. I'll be going to study art in Japan this summer so maybe I'll try to get a hang of it before then. Btw, I love your videos, and your art, I love your graphic style
Ohh studying art in Japan sounds awesome!
Thank you 💕💕
This kind of video is cool, I prefer your inspired speed painting videos the most though
Thank you 👍🏽
Ugh your hair!!!!!! You are sooo pretty!! and great video!!
I love the way you put the glass and the paper together that looked soooo pretty
Thank you 😘😘😘
+Samantha Esther yeah I'm glad it worked so well, thank you!
amazing
wow! very interesting... now i wanna try out aqyla too :)
She is so pretty omg
omg thanks! so lovely!
What type of paper do you use with this then??? Do you use watercolour paper or Bristol? Thank you for sharing us this wonderful video! I have so many questions.
Love it
I'll take one of everything! Painting is def. my next skill to adventure into :) Great video as always!
Thank you!!
Hi Minnie
Thanks food sharing this info .... you mentioned that you found that with gouache the under colours pick up when over painting them -. Have you ever tried Casein as an under painting. Apparently this creates a sealed surface and you don’t get the under colour bleeding through.
Minnie you look gorgeous girl! :D
Wow that is cool! Do you think they ship to Sweden?
And theese types of videos are great! Informative, inspiring and I feel like we get closer to you as well, as we get to know you a bit more like this. (And that last little scene, those are just great and charming) keep it up :)
+Mika Lövgren Hi Mika, sorry to step in. Yes, we ship to Sweden too:)
+Aqyla Art Channel awesome!
I'm currently just working with watercolour and, since i watch your
channel, i've been wanting to try out some gouache. Which brand would
you recommend getting so as to play around with it and start knowing how
to use it?
As always i'm astonished with your work, it's really beautiful and genuine.
I would recommend the Winsor and Newton primary colours set. Nice quality and you get to experiment and push yourself with mixing colours to get what you want. I've also been using Royal Talens recently and they're just as good (if not better) and slightly more affordable (but only slightly!). Thank you Joaquin :)
It sounda like acryla/ acrylic gouache to me ( I haven't used it though, so I'm not sure). In which way does it resemble oil? Thank you for the lovely video!
This new paint looks really interesting and I'd love to give it a try at some point. I especially loved how you worked with it on glass. Does it mention anywhere in the booklets the lightfastness ratings of these paints?
I'm not sure if it does. Since it does set entirely after a month, I'm assuming it then lasts a good long while after that in the same conditions as you'd keep other paintings.
Cool.
Nice patronus. :)
Really helpful and comprehensive review - please do more.
Pleased to know I wasn't the only one thinking Expecto Patronum, Lily and Snape.
+Winchester Zombii haha I see it! And thank you :)
Excuse me while I go buy this. I don't even paint, and I want to paint with these all day! ❤
Please do more review videos, it was so interesting.
:)
Will do ;)
New to your vids. Love love! Can you tell me what pen you use in your bullet journal? Thank you❣
Thank you! I used to just use a biro, now I'm loving the Pilot Frixion pen (it's erasable!)
wowwwww that is something - might order some of these :)
They're pretty cool! Let me know how you find them if you do get yourself a set :)
Could you also test if the paints would fade in the sun?
Thank you for the review and lovely art, I really enjoyed it
if you have the time I have a question about the paint, the most important one is, Is there a color shift when the paint drys? I found that hard to deal with with regular gouache.
How is it blending on the canvas/paper? That is something I love about oils and had a hard time with acrylics
And finally do you think they would work well in a sketchbook?
Sorry for the list of questions, Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed the video. To answer your questions, the colour is pretty unmoveable after about a month, blending takes a bit of getting used to but is fine once you get the hang of it, I find it easier than acrylics. And yes I've used them in my sketchbook and it's actually probably my favourite way to use them.
hmm interesting... i like these product review kind of videos as it satisfies my inner shoppaholic lol!
Good morning,
Great review!!! Since this product embodies components of watercolor, acrylics, oil and gouache, have you tried using a wetting agent(additive) such as OX Gall for rewetting and/or for the initial painting, also have you tried using it with walnut, linseed or even sesame oil?
Looks like i will have to get this product for a project that just popped in my head...
+sscorpionbblade I haven't tried it with a wetting agent or any kind of oil, sorry about that. I wish I could tell you more but that's not really my area of expertise (I'm more of a plain ol' water kind of gal!) if you do give these paints a try, I'd love to hear how it goes for you 👍🏽👍🏽
+SemiSkimmedMin Good morning, I will be putting my order in today and I will certainly let you know how it goes.
The initial "basic" paint making process are all the same (pigment + binders + H2O) as it appears, this is before adding any type of oil or acrylic and at this stage all pigments alone are Opaque and water based , this would also be the same process for alcohol based markers.
ps. Ain't nothing wrong with being a "plain ol' water kind of gal" i like that!!!! :)
That painting is so amazing! How did you do that??
How come you don't do a lot of work with your Copic markers?
I am wanting to get into painting as its not really my strong suit but l would like it to be. When it comes to painting, one of the things that puts me off is how quickly some of the paint dries up and l would love to get myself the Aqyla paint set but its that one little thing thats put me off. Do you have any advice as to how l can work with that fault? Also l notice that with your sketchbooks you do alot of wicked painting and l was wondering if the sketchbooks you paint in are watercolour sketch pads?
Sorry for all the questions! Great video :)
Yes but what is the composition of this, basically acrylic?
the watercolor looks awsome idk why but the set i got rubs off when dry idkif thats normal?
It takes about a month for it to set completely so that might be where you're running into problems?
i'm not really sure i'll leave aside for a month and see thank you so much
Good luck I hope that works for you :)
sweet thank you so much :)
Minnie Small a month.... seriously?. You can touch oils within a week of use.. those paints don’t seem practical..
I've been considering adding acrylic medium to my gouache to make layering easier. This lead me to the thought of mixing in linseed oil to make it a bit more oil like ( i have the student grade himi Gouache and it's not my favorite medium 😉). Shouldn't it act like a retarder? Has anyone tried this?
Wait so if you use this what kind of paint would you be using? Or will Aqyla be a type of paint
Yeah, Aqyla is the type of paint. Something totally new. Very cool!
I'd like to know, since it's been kind of a problem for me as an artist, what do you do with the leftover paint in your palette? :/ It seems just a waste to wash it off
Ohhh I don't have any amazing advice for this I'm afraid. I normally just wash it off and yes, it does feel like such a waste. You can try wrapping your palette in cling film (or saran wrap some people call it?) but it depends what kind of paint you're using and how long it lasts out of the tube.
I know this is late but thanks so much for replying! :D
PATRONUS
do you think its good for beginners ?
👍👍👍👍
suffering from withdrawl symptoms. where is the next video 😭
wow u remind me of hermoine granger of how u speak and face :3
How do you get recognised and contacted?! I'd love that to happen to me!!
I noticed I was getting more offers from companies as I got to a few thousand subscribers. 9 times out of ten it'll be something irrelevant or something you're not interested in. Getting a gem like this is so rare!
+SemiSkimmedMin thank you so much, this is quite helpful
Would gesso/grounds be needed with Aqyla Paint? Or does it depend on the type of surface I use?
In my opinion, you should be fine without gesso for most surfaces.
Sadly Aqyla paint isn't shipped to Malaysia and so is Royal Talens and Winson & Newton. I settled for Reeves..
Oh I'm sorry to hear that :( Can you find any of them on sites like Amazon or Ebay?
Yea Amazon doesn't ship to Malaysia. will try the other site though.. thanks!
Hi HooiLing!
I just saw your comment and we do ship to Malaysia for sure!
Please check out our online store.
kusakabe-enogu.com

Will you be selling this original?
Ahh I doubt it, it's quite special, being my first proper Aqyla painting :P we'll see!

Haha! 👍🏽
