- NEW AQYLA - Impressionistic Rose Time Lapse Demonstration
Today I am using the NEW AQYLA water based resin paint from our sponsor Kusakabe. www.kusakabe-e... SAVE 10% on their products with coupon code: thefrugalcrafter
Enogu is a Japanese word that means a tool to fulfill artt! AQYLA ENOGU paint combines the look of oils, the fast drying durability of acrylics and the reworking capabilities of Gouache in one paint. It can be used on many surfaces and is very durable after it is cured (about 6 weeks after painting) You can thin it down and use it on paper to get the look of watercolor, use it over acrylics or under oil paints so it can be a handy accompaniment to the other paints you already enjoy.
New AQYLA has the following features:
Environmentally safe
7 new colors
Easier to use creamy consistency.
The color payoff is richer and denser
Paint adheres to multiple surfaces including canvas, paper, stone, metal, glass, plaster and more!
Can be used with other paints
If you want more information about AQYLA ENOGU paint please visit their RUclips channel: / @aqylaartchannel6939
This video explains the new Aqyla formulation: • New AQYLA is here!
I recommend using a stiff synthetic brush with these paints as they resemble a soft body acrylic. Clean up is with soap and water. This paint is gentle on brushes and environmentally friendly.
In this demonstration I show you how to paint roses in an impressionistic style. I hope you enjoy!

I'm in awe every time I watch a white canvas turn into a piece of art! Respect Lindsay, as an artist, teacher, mentor and business woman! Thank you
Love all the colours ..it’s still a white rose but done by an artist..an artist can see more colours in a single colour..you know what I mean..paths are not grey, grass is not just green and so on..I think this is just beautiful..love it 😀
thank you sweetheart for sending this video i thought it was brand new ,your the best
Wow! LOVE this one!
Love the information you shared in this tutorial especially about impressionists and fauvists sp? - thank you!! I would love more tutorials about how to create this beautiful look especially about techniques to effectively put colors together to create the vibrating effect.
This is one of those paintings that not only pleases my eye, but also touches my heart. Great work, Lindsay!
Beautiful!
LINDSAY THIS IS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE THE COLORS. THE BLUE YOUR WEARING IS SO PRETTY ON YOU.
I so wish that I could do the magic that you bring to all of your painting !!!!!! Thank you for your tutorials !!
Liked very much! You are great!
Very pretty
Wow I really like how it turned out. I love roses and those colors you used. There we can see that shadow is not always black and grey. Shadows are green blue red and violet, those colors look more naturally. Thanks for you video.
nice! what an interesting paint!
What a beautiful painting Lindsay. It's truly magical.
Thanks Lindsay, this was fun to watch. The paints sound interesting and I just might have to give them a go. I love the vibrant colors in this painting and the impressionistic feel. Monet has always been one of my very favorite artists since I first seen his work in an art book as a child. 💞💫
it was a fun style to paint in, I hope you give it a try!
oh my. This paint is purrfect for mixed media enthusiasts. Which means, oh dear I already spent a bunch on art supplies, thought I had everything I wanted and then... this. The largest set (54 colors) costs $107.85 for anybody who's wondering. The 36 color set might make my wish list... !!
Jasper Martin any of the sets over 18 colors are regular watercolors, not AQYLA like Lindsay used in this video.
good to know, thank you!
I just love listening and watching you. I've learned so much from you. Thanks so much for what you do.
What a pretty painting! I love the idea of these paints- they look like they are really fun to work with.
Wow Lindsay, this is gorgeous! I'm loving all the colors you used too. Thanks so much!

Hi Lindsay, been watching and enjoying your videos the last few days as I'm on leave from my job and as it's summer here in Australia its been too stinking hot to go outside. I just wanted to say how much I've been enjoying your videos - especially your watercolour paintings as that's what I'm interested in. I like that you talk in your videos you give alot of useful advice and I have been learning heaps, and get so inspired you make it look so easy! I like your long videos too they're very relaxing. Thank you for sharing. Oh and could you do a video on paint brushes
Great Video! Really enjoy watching you paint in this style, turned out beautifully! TFS
This is just lovely! That’s for the tutorial and all the information you gave...very informative!

WHYYYYYY must you make me want even MORE art supplies! 😂 Awesome demo as always, you're my favorite art tutor on YT
I love your roses!
Wow Lindsay! This is so beautiful!!! I think I'll try this project with acrylics and gouache, it looks fun. Thank you for the demo :)
that will totally work:)
Wow. I wasn't familiar with these paints. Thank you.
It came out so dreamy 😍 thanks for sharing -Faith
Thanks for the video, Lindsay! Nope, they don't ship to the Dutch Caribbean.I was already halfway checking out when I got the pop up telling me this. So I had it sent to my old address in The Netherlands, (with a 24-pack Neo watercolour set) and then had it sent to me on the Dutch Caribbean island of Curaçao. I love the vibrancy, it really is a very nice hybrid product. I have not found a way to order loose colours yet, though, as this is not possible from their site. Whenever I do find the way to do it, I will have the paint sent to a freight forwarder in the U.S.
This is sooo pretty!!! I love impressionism! Thank you for your perspective on painting white flowers by exaggerating any hints of color you see! I'd love to see more videos on these paints. Do you think they might be a good fit for a watercolorist who's currently struggling to love water mixable oils?
they would be a nice bridge medium for sure.
thanks Lindsay!!
Love this!!! ❤️
thanks!
That's good I like it :-)
Hello, Lindsay. Your roses are beautiful. Thanks for the art ed on Impressionism and Fauvism (I'd never heard of the latter.) I believe on another Aqyla test painting of your pot of brushes, being frugal, you were saddened when there were left-over paints. I saw another of your videos where you made acrylic skins (cool!) and I wonder -- will this paint make skins given it is a resin hybrid? It might be interesting to use the leftovers as skins, especially easy if your palette has a plastic surface. Forgive me if my comment is way off-subject. I learn so much from listening that I get to thinking.... :-) Best, --nina from Chicago.
My goodness Lindsay! Every video you look younger and younger :) it's like you age in reverse
+S Oteri awww, you are too kind:)
Thank you for the demo! At the beginning I thought it was Hoibelt Arcyla Gouache. I wonder if they produce similar effect
Very interesting. TFS
it's ME!!!!!!😭😭😭😭😭😆🤩
Lindsay, I love this painting, are you selling it?
it is a bit much to ship. will think about ordering though! Is there any mediums to make it impasto more like oils when you need them to be? Like cold wax since it has damar resin in it?
oh wow, I never thought about shipping. Have to pass in that case. Although... maybe they'll show up on Amazon with better shipping rates.
Lindsay, beautiful painting. One question - I have a real issue with solvents, etc. Do these paints have a strong smell?
Beautifully done! I'll have to try these because I love the playability of oil but dry time of acrylics. My question is, since you said its resin, does the paint ruin paintbrushes? Thanks Lindsay!
+felineaddict nope, it is modified to me water based. I washed them in soap and water. I used my acrylic paint brushes for this and it worked great.
Paints aren't easy to get. American stores are sold out. The Japan store you linked to isn't that bad a price but shipping is where my problem comes in. I would love to try this medium, but I'm gonna have to wait for it to become easier to purchase.
There are some Aqyla sellers on Ebay. It's not ideal, but simply the best until this paint becomes more mainstream
Is this still on the market? Did they change the name or tubes?
great vid Lindsey are these liKE ATELIER INTERACTIVE ACRYLICS? I just started using a teller says I bought a little trial kit from Jerry's art A Rama and they carry some of these at our local little art store in the desert here. My problem is finding an actual honest reliable source like you would be to actually try these out and say can you use these with other acrylics can you use these with the mediums with acrylics medium like Golden's so far mine are creamy like oil and a tiny bit goes a long way. hurt Onna XoXo
@onna addis - They are a new product called resin paint. Their website says "do not mix with other paints" but you can use it OVER some. Go & read their website, it has plenty of info in English & a free manual too if you want it.
Photography technique of focusing on a subject with blurred background = aperture
ahhh, thank you:)
PS I love your videos by the way! Always gets me inspired to make time for my art!
I can't say I have any understanding of what this paint is or does. I started painting with acrylics, but soon switched to watercolors, which is my passion. This new product confuses me! lol
It doesn't look like they sell individual tubes. Is that correct or can I just not navigate the site correctly?
That's my poblem too, apart from living in a place out-of-this-world, because they do not ship here. They say you can mail with any extra questions, though. All I would like is some open stock, because if the chart I got with the paint is correct, there are some beautiful colours in the collection.
So pretty how did you convert they pricing being Canada US currency doesn't help me :).
I think the set of 18 would be about $65 canadian dollars
Love your picture but the cost of the paint is too expensive $52 for 18 paints wow.
Argh! I get so annoyed I cannot order the stuff you try - Amazon UK is rubbish compared to Amazon USA! Still love watching all your posts 💜
+Helena G. The Aqyla site ships worldwide I believe.
Amazon UK has them as Kusakabe Aqira, and you can order this 18-color set thru Amazon from a 3rd party seller called Beee. I'm in Scotland so I looked:) . It takes a couple of weeks to get them, because they are coming from Japan.
Actually from Japan to The Netherlands, it only took 4 days.To get it to the Caribbean from there (because they do not ship here) took another 5 weeks.....
I priced those paints way to expensive for me 😟
50 or 15 US dollars? I didn't quite catch it.
+Maria Rev 50 ($15 would be nice tho! Still not bad for artist grade paint)
thefrugalcrafter Lindsay Weirich I thought it was 50, but wanted to make sure. It isn't a bad price for the product, that's true.
Is that the 18-color set?
Thanks...not that’s! Hehe
nice! what an interesting paint!
Wow! Beautiful!
