I’m so happy I decided on the 12.9 instead of the 11. In terms of size, it really is big, but that’s surprisingly exactly what I needed. Split screen on this iPad is so good, and because it’s bigger, I can Zoom and take notes comfortably. Watching videos on this is comfortable, and it’s really not very heavy at all. I think for students or work, the larger size is definitely a better fit.
Gotta say that I love your doggo. Listening to you patiently and well-behaved. Definitely looks like a pro hi-tech fur baby. It would be good if you treat him like your top client/buyer for any product you’re reviewing.
I just purchased the 11 pro with magic keyboard and pencil to upgrade the 10.5 pro. I really debated getting the 12.9, but then I realized I’ve been using the 10.5 for two years for video editing and photo editing along with everything else I do it with it, and picking up a 13 inch laptop for a size comparison made me realize I like the smaller device. It’s more portable , lighter weight, and is better on the lap. It also fits into the glove compartment easily when I want to take it with me. I have no issue with using the 11 for work, and the 12.9 and keyboard would have added $200 to the cost, and for something that is just bigger but not more powerful, I just couldn’t see spending the extra money. If I left the 12.9 on a desk, then I could see buying it, but I don’t. I use it all around the house, especially outside on the deck with summer coming, and the 11 is my sweet spot.
Finally a size comparison that uses REAL LIFE OBJECTS. Not being able to go to Best Buy or the Apple store sucks because you can't have the device in your hand to truly compare it. So being able to see it in comparison to household things makes a difference.

I got myself the 11 inch version because I wanted something to work, consume media, and be very portable at the same time. The 12.9 is just not meant to be moved around as much because of it's size. I totally recommend the smaller of the 2, since it is more convenient.

Honestly I like the 12.9in better, a bigger screen is always a good thing in my book. But I found that when I had the 12.9 I would use it more as a laptop, I'd need a table to comfortably use it. I was less likely to just pull it out of my backpack and use it. The 11in is smaller, it's sceen is a lot smaller. But because of it's size I was more likely to carry it around when going places. I wouldn't have to put it in my backpack. I was more likely to pull it out when I had a moment to spare. Overall while I like the 12.9in better then the 11in, I ended up using the 11in more often.
I actually got the 11' one and I really enjoy it, it's convenient, portable and practical. I'm going to be a university student, a average uni student who mainly takes notes. I did have the iPad 6 gen, but I didn't really enjoy the experience that much, so eventually i traded the old ipad and my old apple watch, as well as with the student discount, i was able to get the 2020 iPad Pro with the apple pencil for under £600. I have the 16" MacBook Pro and thought the 11" iPad Pro would be a good choice for note taking, because I am a psychology student and we have to learn a lot of stuff.., and I am a note taking - learning person. But now I am returning it, and getting the 12.9 iPad Pro tomorrow, because I tried the 11" iPad Pro like 6 month, and got so tired of zooming in and out while note taking, or reading my ebooks, or just DIN A4 sheets, and just find that I would like to have a bigger screen, it got in the way of my workflow. I tried the 12.9 from a friend and was immediately convinced, that this would be a much better choice for my needs and my studies. Thank you for your review, loved it! Greetings from Germany 😁
I stuff _everything_ major for work in my dock, so that I don't need to look at the Homescreen when I switch between apps. For that, the 12.9" size is very important.
The 11” is absolutely perfect for my needs. Who wants to transport a tv around everywhere they go? 😂 I like the 12.9. But it’s seriously just not an option for ME for my go to daily grab and go. Good video😍
I had the 12.9 inch iPad Pro and found that it was way too large. The 12.9 to me = laptop size territory for sure. I bought the 2020 11’’ iPad Pro instead this time.
It all comes down to how you use it. For me, I'm not studying so I don't need the advantage of the bigger iPad for taking notes. I do use the train to get to work and to use smaller trips through the country which the smaller iPad is perfect for. I mainly use it for entertainment (watching Netflix, gaming, reading) which is much easier with the smaller one imo. Granted for entertainment only you could argue and say if a Pro model is really necesarry for those tasks and its totally not needed. I could also do that on the basic iPad model. However, to me the screen and the boxy design is just much more appealing.
MobileReviewsEh I have a question, if I want to use it for digital art and everyday uses which one would I like better? I play Minecraft and roblox, I use the app procreate and sometimes ibisPaint x, I’m honestly confused which one to get because with the 12 inch I won’t be able to play as easily and with the 11 inch I’ll have a smaller drawing surface
Lillprincessgir :-: id go with the smaller one for you because your never going to draw in the corners of the bigger one so the smaller one is easier to handle.
Thank you so much for making this video. I’m returning to grad school at 29 a mom of three and work. I feel the iPad will be good for me with school and homeschooling kids if school doesn’t open in the fall.
I always come back to your video to rethink my decision. By using my ipad pro 11 for 8months straight everyday. I can say that for my use case scenario, Ipad 12.9 is better for me. Larger screen is better for school, watching, and gaming.
Tech youtubers have huge hands that make iPad Pro models looks average while my hands struggle to even hold the ipad mini like a phone, imagine holding an 11" which is as long as my arm from elbow up
Ok,I won’t lie,I subscribed mainly for the dog and its funny facial expressions (I can actually imagine thought bubbles as you speak),and secondly because your reviews are fun, easygoing and to the point😁
I’m so stuck tbh. The 11” makes more sense as a student who travels and commutes a lot, and it’s still an upgrade in size from my current 6th gen iPad. But then the new screen on the 12.9” looks amazing and I do watch a lot of tv on my iPad so the new screen would be amazing. Any help?
I have the 16 inch MacBook Pro...... It makes a great stand for my 11 inch iPad Pro. I use the iPad Pro for photo editing, video work, art and consuming media. I didn't feel the need to have such a massive tablet when my Mac has the big screen. What annoys me about the iPad experience is being forced to duplicate items rather than having a central filing system. That sucks. I bought the 1TB version so I didn't run out of space anytime soon. Working with RAW images takes up those precious megabytes. Having first used my fiancé's 12.9 inch, I don't miss the extra 1.9 inches, and I like that is really doesn't 'feel' much bigger than my old iPad mini, even though it clearly is.
I hear this argument all the time, but disagree. I prefer the 11” ipad pro over the 12.9” and I am an artist who draws on it, edits video & photos on it and use it as a laptop replacement. Plus I travel a lot and the 11” is just more portable. But even if I didn’t travel, i’d still prefer the 11” size. I am a big guy with big hands and i can type on the virtual screen much easier with my thumbs while holding it. To me the 11” is the perfect size for a tablet which to me, is meant to be held. The 12.9” is just too big to lug around and hold constantly. Others may disagree, but thats how i feel. I don’t find the 11” too small to be productive on. I edit video on it and it works fine. I do split screen work too no problem. It just feels more like how a tablet should feel to me. And i use it as a laptop replacement. Having said all this, i was kinda bummed the 2021 11” ipad pro didn’t get the mini LED screen. I would have updated my 2018 11” ipad pro if it had. Now I am just going to wait.
Ipad Pro 11 inch is better for gaming Ipad Pro 12.9 inch is better for work of course because it has a bigger screen and has more screen real estate, it's also better for drawing just because it's bigger The bigger the better?
I think it also really depends on hand size. I have small hands and weak wrists, so I ordered the 11". I'm perfectly happy. Plus, I already have a laptop. I didn't want another one, I wanted an iPad.
I disagree... Because I have small hands and weak wrists but I got the 12.9 although it maybe different from you .... maybe you hold it .... I just use it one my lap / desk / while I’m laying on bed ...
I have the 12.9in with the magic keyboard. My setup causes me to use it almost exclusively like a laptop which means it never leaves the magic keyboard case.

Simple solution... buy both! ;) Back to reality... For the 12.9".. it's almost a desktop replacement for some but very pricey just for note taking. For the 11".. it's the better size for traveling, entertainment and note taking and it cost much Less! :) Starting price for 128Gb wifi versions: 11" is $799 & the 12.9" is $1,099; difference of $300 is a Lot of money for lots of people! Not everyone has the money so buy based on your needs AND your cashflow. There's nothing wrong with the 11" version. It's more than sufficient for the average user who'll be using it for emails, texting, online viewing, some gaming and note taking.

Hey, which size would you recommend for university lecture note taking? I want to be able to put it in my backpack and travel around lots with it whilst it being effective for working on however, I do have a desktop pc at home. Many Thanks
No matter how many of these comparison vids I watch, I still can't decide between these 2 sizes. Have to go somewhere & hold them, I guess... I do know that if I go with the smaller one, I'll get the Air 4 instead of the pro. I wish Apple would make some pads with *no* back cameras and knock a few hundred off the price. I use my phone or actual camera for any photo taking.
I’ve got a Pro 11. Got it last summer and replaced MacBook Air. If you want to replace a laptop, I would recommend the 12.9. That’s what I’m getting next. 11 inch screen is enough for most things, but I still miss a little bigger screen, especially when multitasking. I also am getting the LTE version. GPS and internet are very useful when traveling and if you want to use it for navigation and music/podcast at the same time. A magnetically mounted 12.9 inch screen in your car looks pretty cool too.
You know it's funny. I always liked the form factor of the iPad mini, but when Apple stopped updating it I started buying the bigger iPads. I bought the 9.7" iPad Pro and loved it. I was a little irritated it was called "Pro," not because of the name, but rather because Apple felt justified in raising the price from the normal $500 because it was now a "pro" device. The next iPad I bought was the 12.9" 2018 iPad Pro, and I love it. I don't do real work on it, but I do multitask. That is, I watch youtube videos while doing other stuff....i do like the bigger screen for that. It's also nice to stand up and play games on with a PS4 controller...my daughter is a fan of that so of course now I have to subscriber to yet another thing, apple arcade. Anyway, I'm only a minute into the video so I'll shut up now and watch the rest of it!
Thanks for the comment! The bigger screen is pretty awesome. Oddly enough, I’m writing this comment on a Zagg keyboard case and the entire setup makes it feel like an old iBook...

Thanks for the video!! I ended up buying a dog and my family loves him!!!
😆 lol
I went with 11 and soon regretted it and sold it! Went with 12.9 and wow!! Love it!! Use it everyday almost all day!!
Good for you! I’m honestly a big dude (6’7 and 230 pounds) and I still feel that 12.9 is an overkill for an iPad, but that’s just my opinion.
That dog shows more humanity in his eyes than other randoms pals I see around sometimes...
I stuff _everything_ major for work in my dock, so that I don't need to look at the Homescreen when I switch between apps. For that, the 12.9" size is very important.
It's been over 2 years and i am still confused between 11 and 12.9"...xd
Same, the money is ready to be spent but I can't choose XD
Same here 😖
I'd grab the 12.9 because if i'm going through the effort of taking a tablet around, i might as well have the bigger screen.
Nice.
Omg this is so convincing 😯 that’s it i’m going for the 12.9 👏🏻👏🏻
Make sense
This dog is extra complementary to your already very good video :)
The 11” is absolutely perfect for my needs. Who wants to transport a tv around everywhere they go? 😂 I like the 12.9. But it’s seriously just not an option for ME for my go to daily grab and go. Good video😍
smh
I had the 12.9 inch iPad Pro and found that it was way too large. The 12.9 to me = laptop size territory for sure. I bought the 2020 11’’ iPad Pro instead this time.
Thanks for the comment!
Has changing to a smaller one made you feel less productive or found studying/drawing harder?
SOPHIE POODLE this is my question as well

I’m so glad they made the iPad Pro 11inch. It’s the perfect travel tablet computer. If I’m going to have a 12.9 tablet, I’d rather just carry a laptop
OMG your fur baby is so adorable 😍 love him & that tie such a proper little dude... he’s like okay dad calm down... too much excitement 😂
The dog is the purest soul.... Must be the 1st subscriber 🐶🤔😊

That’s what I’m here for. No one does this comparison for some reason... Thanks!
I think... I really like how you compared the ipad 12.9 inch to a sheet of paper. Thats was really helpful.
I love it that the dog is hanging on his every word... puppy want attention or something because holy crap that dog is so patient it’s adorable 🥰
If you often need to use split view function, go with 12.9inch!
i got the 12.9 coz i do artwork. it was the obvious choice. i love it. totally worth it.
I’m the crazy person that gets the smaller iPad, then uses it for both work and play 🧐.
Take the plunge with the bigger iPad the next time you upgrade?
@@corneliussmith5875 oh boi press f
Yes so true like I need to play but also im working on my drawing soo idk
Just purchased the 12.9 and as much as I love it it’s no longer an iPad it’s a computer running iPad os. it’s massive.
that cute dog cracks me up staring at his dad the entire time, great listener
Tech youtubers have huge hands that make iPad Pro models looks average while my hands struggle to even hold the ipad mini like a phone, imagine holding an 11" which is as long as my arm from elbow up
I was watching at the dog and had to rewatch again to listen to the actual review.
I love how ur dog looks at u like every minute and the dog is so cute I can't help it I just love dogs especially that dog that u have
Sorry, been watching the dog for the whole video. I love how he stares at you. 😂
Ok,I won’t lie,I subscribed mainly for the dog and its funny facial expressions (I can actually imagine thought bubbles as you speak),and secondly because your reviews are fun, easygoing and to the point😁
Just bought 12.9 can’t wait to get it.. Thanks for the amazing review
Hope you enjoy it!
I love it absolutely no regrets also got the Zulu case it’s amazing worth every cent paid..
Dude! We love your dog soooooo much! Such a cutie.
My 12.9 inch 2020 ipad pro is arriving tomorrow thx for making me feel good about my purchase. Your doggie is adorable btw.
Any help?
I have an 11 inch, and it works just fine for both work and play
Great video . . . the dog steals the show!
I dont have any regret that choose the ipad pro 12.9” love it❤️
I love how captain America is the sidekick of Ironman... Approved👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I just bought the 12.9, and I was unprepared for how BIG this thing is. I can’t believe I’m considering returning it for the 11.
@T3K iplay well, after almost a year with it, I love it!
@T3K iplay I just bought 12.9 for full gyro it’s not bad if your hands are big enough I love it extra enemy view
Ipad Pro 11 inch is better for gaming
Ipad Pro 12.9 inch is better for work of course because it has a bigger screen and has more screen real estate, it's also better for drawing just because it's bigger
The bigger the better?
Quickly becoming one of my favourite RUclipsrs.
So enthralled with the dog I forgot this was an iPad review 🤣. Appreciate this, great info and well done video
You what’s really crazy??? The dog is just sitting there so quietly and listening to the guy 😂 the perfect student! 😂😂😂
I have the 12.9in with the magic keyboard. My setup causes me to use it almost exclusively like a laptop which means it never leaves the magic keyboard case.
i was staring at your dog watching him almost all the video ...so cute...❤️🌸❤️🌸❤️🌸do a channel for your cute dog if your dog dont mind .. because some dogs don't like to be filmed by the cameras... so ask him plz ...!?!...
So “worth it in the end”. My first time ever seeing one of your vids. Congrats on your personal everyday challenge. I’m going to subscribe and see how it is planning out.
So buying a new 11 inch ipad pro 2020 better or buying amazon renewed 12.9 ipad pro 2018 ?
Wait, did you just call Captain America Iron Man's sidekick? And i thought the review was going so well ;)
Simple solution... buy both! ;)
Back to reality...
For the 12.9".. it's almost a desktop replacement for some but very pricey just for note taking.
For the 11".. it's the better size for traveling, entertainment and note taking and it cost much Less! :)
Starting price for 128Gb wifi versions: 11" is $799 & the 12.9" is $1,099; difference of $300 is a Lot of money for lots of people!
Not everyone has the money so buy based on your needs AND your cashflow.
There's nothing wrong with the 11" version.
It's more than sufficient for the average user who'll be using it for emails, texting, online viewing, some gaming and note taking.
I just loved it when he said " Monty doesn't need me" 😂😂
probably one of the best comparison videos/reviews I've seen so far. Very helpful. Thanks
I have both 2018 iPad Pro gaming and work, iPad pro 11 2021 same with other iPad both are great to use. Awesome video
🤣 the dog has that look like"what the fuck is this idiot doing, shaking his hands and making sounds" 😂👍 love the dog
Hi
As new M1 iPad Pro 2021 launched
Make us ready with good cases and screen protectors
is magnetic ESR cases are good ?
Or without magnet casing ...
Make us ready with this stuff before iPad 12.9" is live
Violation: Captain America is NOBODY’S sidekick. ;-) That said, fantastic video!
Hey, which size would you recommend for university lecture note taking? I want to be able to put it in my backpack and travel around lots with it whilst it being effective for working on however, I do have a desktop pc at home. Many Thanks
Your dog is so ❤️Sweet❤️ especially when he looks at you while doing your videos. 😊
Thanks for the comment.
Can you give me an iPad
Can you give me an iPad Pro 11 11
Can you give me the
The big sites and can you give me a iPhone 11 Pro Max 3
After I watch this video I think I want more a cutie dog like him than an ipad hahaha so adorable!! 😍
Which color do you recommend??
Omg that pup in the vid just got you a new subscriber.
