Thanky you Serena. I started my flower farm at 59 4 yrs ago. I was doing good, then last year I had health probems and could not grow my flowers. I plan to try to restart this year. Your channel and you were one of the main reasons why I started flower farming. I come from a long line of farmers in my family so farming seemed natural. Before the farm i was a teacher and had a food truck in the summer. I know travel camp a lot too. Thank you I learned so much from you and your channel. You are awesome!
Lennie Larkin was my professor at a greenhouse class I took during Covid at the junior college! She’s awesome! She is the one who got me interested in flower farming and turned me on to YCETG! I must buy!
When I started watching your videos, initially I was not the biggest fan of how much focus you put on profit and the business side of things. I still liked watching your content though and I'm happy I didn't stop watching as over time started to understand that, yes indeed, one can't survive on passion alone. You NEED profit to survive and eventually grow. So thank you for helping me realize that! Adding this book to my list!
Loved the flashbacks of Sam and Leah as infants (and when Sam was a work in progress). Hope you can squeeze in a video of your experiences marketing your flower portfolio to wholesalers Looking forward to hearing about the potential for this next venture.
Serena I love how you explain everything so clearly,we all can learn from your experience! Thanks for all you do and that is why I keep watching your channel!Happy New Year to you and your family from Ontario!😄
I am super excited for this book! I preordered a copy yesterday through growing for market! Just like you, I have been looking for a book that dives into the business side of running a flower farm. Here’s to 2024 and becoming profitable flower farmers thanks to Lennie’s experience, wealth of knowledge, her love of flowers and teaching. 💚
Yay! I preordered this book and it’s too arrive Jan 26! Thank you Serena! You and Ian have been invaluable in the info you share. Q- what kind of tiller do y’all have?
Happy new year, friends! I hope you are feeling rested and rejuvenated for the coming spring. Much like you, I'm desperate to see flowers again! At least we have the old videos... 🐈❤️🐈❤️
Just found your channel and this is exactly what I needed right now. SAHM looking for a home based business that I can ramp up as my son get older. Thank you for sharing this info.😊
You are going into your 6th year farming, but it is not your 6th year as a flower farmer. The first couple years were as a vegetable farmer that also sold some flowers. I do wonder if you should be introducing yourself in the next month to those businesses you want to wholesale to (including the local grocery stores) rather than waiting until spring. Wouldn't they already have been lining up their wholesalers? Fabulous video! I loved seeing the kids in progress and as itty bitties! Keep up the great videos! Are you going to make a poster of pertinent points to hang in the flower studio so you can see it during the season?! Be well and Happy New Year!
I am not going into flower farming. not really but this book does sound like a good read. I need a book like that in my library because ideas and tips are universal. I am a trained gardener and I wish I could pursue that dream but my health and garden size say no. but other business, yes. a hobby is for fun, a business is for money. flower gardening is just my hobby.
*waves* I sent you a message via Facebook about varieties I had success with, maybe a month or two back. I don't think you ever saw it. Also...I wish I had of had access to books like that back then.
