    There are many variations of sinigang. Sinigang sa sampalok is the most common. Other variations are sinigang sa miso, sinigang sa bayabas, sinigang sa santol and so on and so forth. For me, the best fish is sinigang sa bayabas. Its good to see you like eating Filipino dishes.

    You can still make sinigang with chicken but we filipinos doesn't called that like "chicken sinigang".. we call it "Sinampalukan na manok". It is also sour but we usually put real tamarind fruit or the leaves rather than the instant one and it aso has ginger.😀

  • @aldrinaldrin4618
    @aldrinaldrin4618 2 года назад +9

    I haven't tried that one.
    More common one is Sinigang sa Miso using Salmon.
    The main difference is.. you use ginger, Mustard leaves instead of Kang Kong, some Salmon bellies then lots of miso (the orange ones) until it's thick enough.
    It's like my ultimate dish.. unfortunately Salmon is too expensive in PH.
    Oh yea, as someone mentioned here, the fish version of Sinigang is Sinigang na Bangus (Milkfish instead of Salmon)

    • @Thigsy
      @Thigsy 2 года назад

      Yes salmon is expensive in the Philippines... if you buy the meaty part. But if you buy the Head and the belly... It's cheaper and the soup more flavorful! Belly has fats... And fats is flavor! Hahahaha

    Sinigang na salmon is not unknown to Filipinos. Actually, many kinds of big fishes in the Philippines can be sinigang. And the famous one is Bangus (Milkfish) Sinigang. Though you should put some ginger to remove the fishy smell. I love your reaction sylvia with moys cooking.

Salmon is cheaper here in the U.S. if you earn dollars so finally we used Salmon. It is really good specially with knorr sinigang mix!
