Deep fried typically means a batter is placed on the food you are frying to protect the integrity of the food. Then the item is completely submerged in the super hot oil. The food is placed in a basket (typically) that allows it to be submerged. A good example, most french fries/donuts are deep fried. But most of what she's talking about is food from fairs where everything is deep fried to make it easier to cook. So like burgers or chicken is typically fried in a pan with a little oil, but once you add a batter or flour (fried chicken), you submerge at least 1/2 of it at a time.
She is the best example of someone who just knows a little info then decides she knows the subject well enough to speak on it. She misinforms people nonstop....😢😮😢
We had an exchange a few years ago about her video that parents in the US want their kids to move out at 18, I told her she had it backwards, it's the kids that want to move out at 18, not their parents demanding it and she was like "really???."
i don't think anybody is obsessed with peanut butter. there are simply many products with it, because it's cheap in the US. deep fried means fried in a vat of oil, not fried twice. and deep fried weird things are mostly at fairs. not at home or restaurants. it's just a novelty item.
Hamburgers on donuts are regional and most Americans have never seen one let alone eaten one. Pineapple pizza is a Canadian creation that made its way to America. Sloppy joes, biscuits and gravy, and hamburger gravy are poor people creations to make a little bit of meat stretch to feed a lot of people they just happen to taste good. The canned cake and canned hotdogs are UK foods not found in America just as the canned bananas are a Thai food not found in America. The majority of fried foods are only found at fairs or are regional and not eaten by most Americans. The deep fried snickers bar came to America from Scotland. While a lot of Americans drink coffee, most do not walk around with a coffee in their hand. America has far more of a choice of dressings than Ireland does and a lot of Americans don't like mayo or ranch dressing. Peanut butter is an American favorite but isn't as common a flavor of food as she claims. Japanese pancakes are a lot thicker than American pancakes. My favorite sweet and savory dishes come from East Asian cuisine so sweet and savory is not just an American thing.
Saucy, beefy and so satisfying. We’re convinced this is the BEST recipe for a homemade Sloppy Joe. Ground beef in a hearty tomato sauce served on toasted hamburger buns is a great idea for lunch or dinner.
I think she exaggerated everything except for the ice and the coffee. You don’t see all of that deep fried stuff everywhere. Go to a state fair and you see it. But it’s not any everyday thing. I like pancakes and biscuits and gravy but that’s a rare breakfast for me. Some pizza chains have a stuffed crust option but I would say 99% of the pizza in America is not stuffed crust and doesn’t have pineapple on it.
She always does, she sees one person doing something and then she claims it's an American tradition. Even though she has videos about how big the US is, she seems to think a popular dish in say NYC is going to be popular in a Cuban neighborhood in Miami.
These things might sound weird but I actually really enjoy how in America we aren't afraid to try and create new things. We don't feel like we have to follow the exact rules for cooking. We also have many different cultures that also influence cooking styles and recipes that it makes our food a unique experience. Meatloaf and sloppy joes are unique because they were both created during the Great Depression so they were made to be cheap meals for people who still wanted to get meat in their diet but couldn't afford anything else.
Diane was the very first creator I watched reaction videos about America from, but she gets a lot of things wrong. We had an exchange about her video that parents in the US want their kids to move out at 18, I told her she had it backwards, it's the kids that want to move out at 18, not their parents demanding it and she was like "really???."
Sloppy Joe are minced beef with onions and peppers and tomatoes in a tomato base sauce and you put it on a hamburger bun and it’s really good and biscuits and gravy is good too
Ice Coffee black with no cream/sugar is the best any time of the year and especially in the winter where here it can go as low as 20 degrees F. You can get ice everywhere around here.
It looks like her jelly on pie is actually a strawberry topping on cheesecake. One of the local restaurants offered the donut burger and one of my coworkers said it wasn’t bad. Never seen canned cake but almost anything can be canned and once done can last go years in storage. Sloppy joes are just minced hamburger with a tomato sauce. You can ask for any dressing you prefer and they will put it in a condiment cup , and if you don’t like mayonnaise just ask for none. My granddaughters don’t like onions and I simply ask for them to be left off.
This is a huge misrepresentation of what Americans eat. She's gone out of her way to find the most ridicules food ideas some corporations have tried, AND FAILED, to market. Pineapple pizza is a controversial subject among any group of two or more.
So called "Hawaiian Pizza" was created by a Greek immigrant to Canada. On behalf of all Greeks worldwide we sincerely apologize for this abomination. Please forgive us 🙏. 🇬🇷 🇺🇸
We have more than just mayonnaise and ranch dressing. We have thousands of sauces and dips and dressing to choose from. like sweet curry sauce to pico de gallo to dill dip
Diane is a nice lady, but she is a good example of the American stereotype of the Sanctimonious European... They like making lots of rules and feel safe in their conformity.
We do like sweet and salty foods and we do have maple bacon donuts and bacon dipped in chocolate and potato chips covered in chocolate. Etc but not everyone likes them it’s always a choice
She is the most hated creator in the reaction genre. She is far too negative and annoying. She gets things so wrong and makes ridiculous obnoxious generalizations. She's just bitter She moved to Hollywood to tried to make it as an actress and failed miserably. She only lived in the U.S. for maybe 90 days total. She doesn't even live in Ireland, she lives in Spain.
I'm confused by her confusion because she's reacted positively to all these things in the past and suddenly they're strange. Her foreigner shocked by America videos seem to need clickbiat now
You haven't lived till you've had a Hawaiian Pizza. Hawaiian Pizza = Ham/Pineapple. However, make sure the toppings are on top of the cheese. This brings out the salty flavor of the Ham against the sweet/acidic flavor of the pineapple. Its really good. Some people just can't get behind it, but those people haven't tried it. Cooking the toppings on top of the cheese keeps the crust from getting soggy.
Deep fried is just submerging a batter covered food in to a pot full of hot oil. French fries are made thru deep frying. Where she came up with canned hot dogs is beyond this american, never saw a can of them inmy lifetime. We do have little vienna sausages in a tiny can but those are served as horderves or mini snacks while watching a game or something. Sloppy Joes are just seasoned ground beef in a seasoned tomato based sauce with chopped onion and pickles mixed in and served on a bun. They are called sloppy joes because its messy to eat, so most folks use a untensil instead to save from the mess. She missed on this video, most is very vague and not to well described. Biscuits and breakfast sausage gravy is AWESOME.
I’m sorry but a donut on a burger is not something we do to my knowledge out of all the places I been that serve burgers I’ve never in my life seen a donut on a burger 🍔 much less deep fried watermelon that’s totally not a true statement
sloppy Joe's are good. you experiment to make and create new things. what has Ireland contributed to the culinary community? not everything is good. but some things are awesome!
Pancakes is definitely a breakfast food in Canada as well, but you can eat them anytime. Sloppy Joes are great!!! This woman is full of stereotypes and something else as well. 🇨🇦🖖🏻
While I agree some of the stuff we eat and drink might be weird to her, but she's taking an awfully condescending tone for a person who comes from a place where they eat beans on toast and call it good.
Ooooo, she done went too far talking about biscuits and gravy! TBH, I'm from the north and did not try them until I was in my 30's. There is a time when I would have agreed with her. Those were my ante-biiscuit and gravy days. I offer this link to further make my point; ruclips.net/video/KzdbFnv4yWQ/видео.htmlfeature=shared

A 150 million americans can't be wrong about how good biscuits and gravy is.
She is the best example of someone who just knows a little info then decides she knows the subject well enough to speak on it. She misinforms people nonstop....😢😮😢
Deep fried is not as popular as Diane says, though it is in fairs, and she is confusing regional foods as the standard for everywhere in the US.
Relying on this woman to provide accurate information on anything, would be a real stretch
We had an exchange a few years ago about her video that parents in the US want their kids to move out at 18, I told her she had it backwards, it's the kids that want to move out at 18, not their parents demanding it and she was like "really???."
Deep frying isn't that popular...and only in Europe do they put hot dog's in a can, I don't think we have canned cake in the U.S. either not sure...
Home made biscuits and gravy is great.

Try deep fried oreos and deep fried snickers
Deep fried Mars bar, too.

Biscuits and gravy this morning for breakfast. so good!

Sorry but she's never had real biscuits and gravy since it is amazing!
It looks like her jelly on pie is actually a strawberry topping on cheesecake.

6:49 pancake is a breakfast dish. We Indians eat it as snacks. Muffins are breakfast dish. We eat it as a snack.
She need to vist more places
She needs to stay in europe.
So called "Hawaiian Pizza" was created by a Greek immigrant to Canada. On behalf of all Greeks worldwide we sincerely apologize for this abomination. Please forgive us 🙏.
🇬🇷 🇺🇸
I forgive you
Still, pineapple pizza is disgusting
Biscuits and sausage gravy is amazing
We have more than just mayonnaise and ranch dressing. We have thousands of sauces and dips and dressing to choose from. like sweet curry sauce to pico de gallo to dill dip
I think Deep fry means a deeper pot to fry food in with more oil to fry chicken, fish, shrimp etc.
She is the ultimate Karen 😂😂.
Diane is a nice lady, but she is a good example of the American stereotype of the Sanctimonious European... They like making lots of rules and feel safe in their conformity.
Don’t knock it until you try it
There are no mayonnaise eating contests.
We do like sweet and salty foods and we do have maple bacon donuts and bacon dipped in chocolate and potato chips covered in chocolate. Etc but not everyone likes them it’s always a choice
I am an American and I can't do ice in coffee unless it is a hot day. Even then my first cup of coffee in the morning has to be hot and no ice.
We even have coffee ice cream.

Weird!
I don’t like her very much at all
I made it 45 seconds into her talking before I had to shut it off.
Yeah, I feel the same. Was disappointed as soon as I saw it was her.
I dont care for her too much either. Her only defense is she did a descent gun video recently.
Can't watch her. Sorry.
I'm confused by her confusion because she's reacted positively to all these things in the past and suddenly they're strange. Her foreigner shocked by America videos seem to need clickbiat now

Canadian bacon pineapple and shrimp is how I've Done Hawaiian pizza since the 70s. It's delicious!
She is way off.. Lol

I wanna know where the hell she saw canned cake and deep-fried watermelon.
I’m sorry but a donut on a burger is not something we do to my knowledge out of all the places I been that serve burgers I’ve never in my life seen a donut on a burger 🍔 much less deep fried watermelon that’s totally not a true statement
Again sweet and savory pineapple pizza only a certain number of people eat this, I guess she has no idea of what taste buds are 😂😂.
I agree with her on sloppy joes and mayonnaise, but biscuits and gravy is breakfast of the gods.
More people are using air fryers now and choosing healthier options when they can …
You have never ate a homemade sloppy Joe but I have to agree store bought sloppy Joes are not the best
Deep fried oreos are amazing!
Hahaha! I'm drinking coffee as I watch this! With Caramel Macchiato creamer!
I live in Florida, so ice coffee forever.
Pineapple,Canadian bacon and shrimp, the best pizza you'll ever eat!
Peanut butter is from the depression cheap and healthy easy way to get protein
It was a luxury health food. it first came about in 1884. It wasn't until sliced bread that both peanut butter and jam/jelly/preserves became cheap
I have nothing against her, but she’s wrong about most of the things on this list
sloppy Joe's are good. you experiment to make and create new things. what has Ireland contributed to the culinary community? not everything is good. but some things are awesome!
We like biscuits and gravy because it is so DELICIOUS!
Pancakes is definitely a breakfast food in Canada as well, but you can eat them anytime. Sloppy Joes are great!!! This woman is full of stereotypes and something else as well. 🇨🇦🖖🏻
Hey those donut burgers are amazing 😍
