The guy pranked his wife. He told her he was taking her to an average basic grocery store, but took her to the 3rd most expensive luxury/grocery store chain store in California.
This guy is a weirdo. If you watch some of his other videos on his channel You can see he's an a**hole. And his Philipina wife is not much better.
Most Americans hate the self check out. It rarely works smoothly and just about everytime requires the summoning of an attendant to solve the glitch which takes forever. It's a lot more efficient to go through the standard cashier and they bag your groceries for you.
And yes there is a lot if theft from the self checkout.
@@philmakris8507 I'm from South Dakota and we love the self-checkouts. We have cashiers primarily for retired people. But I agree with you about theft at self-checkouts.
@@philmakris8507 I love self checkouts. They get you out of the store much faster. I very rarely have an issue with them. The only time I ever needed an attendant was to remove a couple items that I decided not to buy.

That's not true about price signs. The prices are always listed. You have to know where to look.

Yup that’s not a normal grocery store in America. This is like the prices I saw at Whole Foods in Pennsylvania when I visited my uncles. For 1 lbs of precut watermelon saw over ten dollars and that was in 2003
Bro you can get alcohol almost anywhere in the US, Wal Mart, Dollar General, Gas stations, and even CVS or Walgreens Pharmacies. Not including places devoted to only selling alcohol.

Everything is double the price in California because to rent a building or buy it saying Florida one of the markets would cost $20,000 a month or $2 million or $3 million in California. It’s probably $50,000 a month and $7 million so the mortgage on the rent goes to the cost of the food it’s a fixed expense so prices for food a different in California different and Iowa and different in Florida and New York is a lot like California.
In California, all the grocery stores have liquor stores. We have liquor stores also, and there's usually a drug store in the grocery store also, and that's for like all of them.

This guy is cheap and he showing you the very expensive items you can buy champagne for seven dollars he showing in Stone crab extra large claws. The very expensive small stone crabs are $25 a pound you get six you can only eat three of them so $12 per person to eat but Stone crabs are very expensive. The average fish lower end is around $10 a pound and good fish is around $25 a pound like swordfish or the best Chilean Seabass not Seabass Chilean Seabass it’s white like the clouds and it’s about 3 inches thick. It taste like it has water inside the fish. It’s crazy good
Florida has 0% tax meeting every thousand dollars you make you pay zero tax to the state. California and New York have a state tax of around 12% meaning for every thousand dollars you make you give $120 to the state on top of the 30% you give to the government and on top of the 7% sales tax you pay on everything you buy the gas the car payment your rent your mortgage everything.
You go to different stores for different things. Walmart is great for canned foods, cereal, cheese and such as its the cheapest but I never buy meat at Wal-mart. Ive gotten rank meat from Wal mart too many times and its a family rule we dont buy meat at walmart. We go to Winn Dixie for meat ( their the beef people afterall). Then for higher quality products I go to Publix. Things at Publix are much better in quality but the hiked up price isnt always worth it. So I go to Publix when my finances are looking up and I want to treat myself.
This is not a market or a supermarket. This is a big Deli meeting. It’s a small store specialty store.
If you went somewhere like Texas, you could eat very affordably if you put aside $500 for a 10 day trip, you could probably get away with only using half of that for your food and I mean even going out to some restaurants and having a good time with some alcohol even so you just have to know how to shop and you have to remember there’s always going to be a better price at Walmart than anywhere else other than Costco but you have to pay for a $50 membership But that’s for a whole year and at that point you can get very cheap food in 5 pounds at a time
These are in nice areas people won’t steal that’s only bad areas people have the temptation of sure they try to steal something but you still save money based on paying someone $150 a day to ring the register so if they steal $100 a day you only still save $50 a day per register day after day month after month store at the store it’s in the millions. But 98% of Americans from good areas will not steal they just won’t do it now you go to California you can steal up to $1000 a day and it’s not a crime people going to close stores in Rob 10 shirts the same ones off the rack and walk out there not stealing for themselves because they pour they’re stealing cause it’s a Business.
Newport Beach is a very expensive area. Don't recall seeing a Walmart there.

While Walmart has a lot to choose from, I only buy some items there. I shop at 4 different stores for groceries and know which store to go to in order to get the best price for what I want. That wasn't a good video to watch to see what prices are like in the US. Those were high end stores where the prices are high, and everything is more expensive in California than in the rest of the US.
Bristol Farms is a high-end grocery store it's one of the most expensive grocery stores that you can shop in.😎

A lot of people won’t go to Walmart because Walmart encourages suppliers to move their manufacturing out of the country. I personally have a friend that lost his job because his company took their advice to move manufacturing plants out of America to take advantage of cheaper labor so they can sell the product cheaper

No, California is very expensive. There are plenty of places in America where you can buy everything they showed you for under four dollars each item. They just are an extremely high-end rich person grocery store where they overpriced the food to make rich people feel like they’re buying a better quality food

The price you see isn’t the final price the final price is at the checkout. Normally you can ask people what the state average tax is for goods I know here it’s 7.5% tax on goods where I live so you just basically take the total price tag number and times it by 0.075 and that is the tax that’s gonna be added onto the bill for the final place at the checkout.

Actually we have a sweet potato, and what she was holding was a yam. Which obviously is different shape? It has a different skin, but the inside tastes very similar.
I thought yam was just a synonym for sweet potato.
@@fluffylittlebear No, sweet potatoes are white on the inside and light-skinned shaped more like a potato. Yams are long, reddish brown on the outside, thick-skinned and like a pumpkin on the inside. Except they taste just like sweet potatoes and vice versa.

They're driving in the strip mall. That's what we call it a whole bunch of stores in the open so you can walk around. Not like a conventional mall where it's all inside.
