Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

I’ve gotta give credit where credit is due. Randy the Master Pipe Layer is an excellent interviewer and host. I’ve noticed he really takes the lead on most of these podcasts. He asks really good questions and clearly takes the time to listen and respond.

Hey Zach: You, Becky, and Randy are making a huge impact in 2 groups. First, non farmers are connecting to you guys and learning about farming; Second- People like me grew up on a farm, had a non-farm career, retired and getting back up to speed with current farm technologies. Great Work! Captain Al from Tampa 😎

Also he's connecting to farmers too that might or might not know the technologies and/or the companies out there to get seed and chemicals or just interested how other farmers are doing and how they do it

This was really cool to listen to. My father grew up on a potato farm in michigan. I always wondered how it would be to grow up on a farm back in the 70s. I hear stories of how my great grandfather could back up a tractor with two wagons in tandem in a straight line with his Minneapolis Moline!

By 10 my dad had taught me to back 2 at a time into the barn with an International 706 with a narrow front while he kept the baler running by 14 the old Farmall M came out of semi-retirement to mow rake and haul hay to the barn instead of just running the buzz saw to cut firewood because the narrow front 706 was running the baler and the 766 the wide front 706 got traded for was working ground I missed powersteerig when I had to use the M I recently bought the M 706 and 766 with the Koyker K5 loaded on it from my dad since he retired (he said if I bought the tractor he'd give me the loader since it had been welded back together so many times and dug round bottom trenches) that old loader hauled heavy round bales (at speeds it shouldn't have) and cleared the was for building fence popping stumps it had no business messing with I had to keep the memories with the tractor or it would've became scrap iron if he sold it on his auction

Zach may i make a suggestion?
These farm history pieces with your dad are good.Would it be possible to do one on the last 10-15 years? I get the impression there have been some big changes over the years!
I think most would find it interesting.
Possible things to include: How the farmed area has grown. How and when tech has changed things. The different machinery you've used. Any particularly good or bad years.
Maybe even describe how a son (or daughter) takes over from their father - if its not too personal.

so glad you share the triumphs and trials of farm life, there is nothing like the "fuzzy warm" at the end of a day drilling, slight dust hanging in the still of the headland at sunset, 15 years of the best work for the soul, 1% here in CA know that, keep the young ones knowing its overall joy and freedom of a farm life that takes the work mother nature demands, that freedom is so overlooked by being a butt in the seat demand at planting and especially harvestings "windows", MF 190 and a set of rakes, they never find joy in that umbrella. the 75% run after high school, Albin and Harry Bionda, 3rd gen. Dave stayed his two brothers and as Harry would say "I would have drowned him at birth if I'd known" cousin who blew $275,000 propagating wallstreet, when Harry passed his wish to the family, keep farming, his oldest liquidated the D7, ,D6's, Bushog, Squeeze, Swathers, Drills, 10,000lb electric press, especially sweet for the push outs on a 1,800 bail day when AC was out,, had sheriffs on xmas day serve Dave removal papers, sold the mill and ranch, that was some mighty bitter dust from childhood days, in 15 years I saw his brother once brought a pick up load of gravel from shamrock cement where he worked for the drive way, what I'm saying is Nate is somebody worth knowing as you, inspire that with the 6Th gen, dream about row farming now and than still, 10 years removed, I said dream not nightmare, those happen but you still need to sleep, good job sharing the passion, toil, family and friends, of an American family farm looking to the future
