Last week was my first time getting lip filler and immediately got a hematoma. Thank goodness I went to a great office who were well versed in exactly what to do if a VO occurred. She immediately dissolved my filler, gave me a tab of Nitro, gave me heat, and I also took some baby aspirin that I happened to have in my purse. Had bruising and swelling as well as tenderness over the next few days but nothing horrible. I was so thankful for their quick thinking and action! Went back for a check up and now they have a kit prepared for if this happens to another patient.
@@coolied2865 hyalnex hylaurandais. People don't have allergy to this it's more expensive hylaurandais but it's the best. Hylanex Recombinant. Shelf life 24mths. You can use it to dissolve a correction, fill-in migration, or a VO and you don't need to throw it away
Images are not enough alone. A sound clinical background of how the treatment went, capillary refill times and pain levels are all required to make and effective and appropriate diagnosis. Kind regards Mary. Clinical advisor for Dr Tim. We have many videos in our collection that will show imagery of Vessel occlusion and it’s different stages.
TY Dr Pierce, I have your books on Complications for Neurotoxins and fillers. other then Hyaluronidase, what else should I keep at my office? I am a somewhat new injector. Thank You
Lots of clients now are getting lip Blush via semi permanent makeup which makes capillary refill checks difficult. Have you come across these clients with Lip Blush and how can we work around this?
I had a threadlift under my eyes a little over a month ago. I got a horrible black eye on one side, and after it healed my skin was stained! I went back to my practitioner who was very surprised that it happened. We did a session of fractional co2 laser to get rid of it the darkening of the skin. I can still see darkness and my skin is pink. Dr Pearce, have you ever seen anything like that? Do you think it will heal?
Hi Nadine. Thanks for your question. Using a cannula decreases the chance of bruising, but you can still bruise someone with the pilot hole, and you can still bruise someone with a cannula. It's just a bit less frequent. If you do get a bruise, you're in the same situation of having to differentiate between a VO and a haematoma, and both cannula and needle can cause occlusions. But, I suspect it's vastly less frequent to cause an occlusion with a cannula than with a needle. But, if you do get an occlusion from a cannula, they tend to be much worse. Hope that helps, Tim.
So if its a hematoma and you put hyaluronidase on it and he literally said it can help a haematoma, just use the hyaluronidase anyway, he makes it sound overly complicated., you can always refill 2 weeks later better to be safe then sorry, basically use hyaluronidase either way.
My story for the records: I´m from Argentina. I was injecting myself for 3 years, without any problem before meeting Belotero syringes and cannulas. I got my first hematoma in October 2020 in my tear drop and my first malar festoon 2 months ago when my belotero syringe exploded with air. Then, I added more hyaluronic to support my festoon. I got another bruise. I saw 6 doctors.. 3 surgeons, and 4 dermatologist. Surgeons wanted me to put Hialuronidase to ´´dissolve´´ my festoon, and the other 3 dermatologists said NO. I was sure there was no VO because I saw all your videos, hands-on, read papers etc. I decided to do drain massages. Nowadays, 3 months later you cannot even notice my festoon, is everything ok, only a bit puffy...but nothing wrong. I´ve learned a lot, first of all: Never inject myself again. You can go ok 3 years ,2, 1 but also if you´re a doctor, you have bad days. 2 In Argentina doctors have a lot to learn.. they need to know english to access those papers. 3 ´´The bigger the needel cannula less chances but bigger probems 4: Listen to your body and this podcast :) Cheers

@@DrTimPearce I had my tear trough filler 4 weeks ago and l still have bruising, should I be concerned that this is a delayed onset of necrosis? ( I have black skin and don't usually bruise like this)
So...I had my tear troughs and cheeks done, then a few weeks later (today) got 10mm threads around my eye, he pulled out one of them and instantly boom filled up! I can't even...I'm so mad🤬😭 so we dissolved. And I have the biggest black eye I've ever seen😟😲I could see a 🏔️ growing in seconds....so the thread pushed filler in or a hematoma? Don't go to "med spa" unless you know who you're dealing with...I'd upload a picture if I could, it's ridiculous!
I cant believe someone is given all this precious information for free. We usually pay for this.

Would high dose niacinamide help a v. o ?
Wouldn't using a cannula help decrease this happening? With filler at least.

Hi doc, I had bruised it already fades away but there are times that it hurts.
Is it possible that it is hematoma?
Thank you
In what case would you give the patient a nitrate to treat a VO?
Can a hematoma develop immediately?
yes- usually it starts immediately and then gets worse over 24hrs, but the first stage is immediate.
What if the lip is dark red with a bit of purple and doesn’t blanch at all, even when you press very hard on it ?
What was it I have that

Hi Macy, it's quite normal to still have bruising
