I have to admit, he is much, much better than I thought he would be. And a perfect fit in OKC. Wemby will have to play better to get the ROY this season.
Usually the ROY is just based on stats but in this case with SAS losing 19 of 20 with a worse record than last year and OKC being the #2 seed in the conference and a much better record this year Chet can definitely win it despite averaging slightly less pts and rebs. Chet also has a higher FG%, 3PT% and FT% and seems to impact winning more than Victor at this time and plays with more dog in him. It will be a close race but I just don't won't them to gift wrap it to Wemby just because of the hype and it fits the narrative, the right player should win it.
@@itshihoAt this point, even though I think Chet has been better I wouldn't be mad if Wemby won. They've both been ridiculous, I'm not sure people fully understand how abnormal it is what they're doing (myself included!).
@@ctoaun23 Yeah I can't remember the last time a ROTY candidate was on a team in real contention at or near the top of the conference. Magic, Bird and Duncan did but it's rare. Maybe Duncan was the last one

Tell me one thing he can’t do? He can shoot efficiently, great handles for his size, elite defense, has great vision, effective at setting screens, help defense recovery to get back to his man is insane. He can play perimeter defense also due to his mobility. Maybe just his ability to post someone down??
His first official year... Imagine him in 4-5 to years? I might be stretching it but I think if he develops right he becomes your 1B to Shai.
Timing is impeccable. Looks to pass and focus on one-on-one. Most impressive to me: really covers a lot of ground when switching on defense.

Also, maybe players do refreign more shots against Wemby expecting what's to come ? 😅I did not watch much Holgrem tho, only 2 games, the 2 against Spurs preseason and season, so I don't know how they play against him.

Rookie of the Year no question. OKC playing better and good shot at playoffs since Chet's arrival, while Spurs playing worse since Wemby's arrival and no chance for playoffs. Chet's stats hold better weight compared to Wemby's.
Unfortunately the league is rigged and wemby will win it although Chet is real winner of the roty race currently.

Team record is non sense in ROY campaign, because not everyone has the same situatuon. Chet has SGA mvp caliber, dort and williams all defense potential this year, giddey maybe the 5th best on this team is better than all playmakers of the spurs (if there is one). While wemby has a experimental PG 😭
