I have my loop level as an assign on my volume pedal so I can control the vol of all the loops with my feet whilst playing. Great set of videos. Keep them coming. 👍🏻
I recently found and subscribed to your channel. It is folks like you that really knock it out of the park in terms of helping learn how deep this product is. I can’t thank you enough and keep them coming!
Agree 100%, strange that it took me so long to FIND this channel.. -as it doesn't normally show up in search results perhaps because he still doesn't have that many views.. (but for those who have found their way here.. this gentleman's brain power is MUCH appreciated.)
I was miffed at first BUT WoW!, after watching 20 other RC-600 videos, this is starting to make sense!! And I have the other gear ( like the keyboard midi controllers) and would have never thought of using them to control the RC-600. (I'm trying to sync with Ableton Live also). So you have my ear :-) Thank you much Mr. Gallagher!!
Hey Ross thanks for your videos, so very helpful! Just wondering if there is a midi and/or keyboard that can both control the boss rc600 loop tracks and fade volumes and play sound without a laptop? Cheers :)
Absolutely! There are many MIDI keyboards that you could use, but I highly recommend the Novation Launchkey series. I owned the MK2 37 model, but I wasn't using it, so it's been pushed to the side now. Hope this helps. Ross
@@RossGallagherMusic Yes, the thing is Im bringing my mini midi keyboard to the gig, and at the moment I don’t have a foot switch that helps me to go through the 3 modes. So I was hoping that with the midi controller I could control that function. Thank you!!
Side question. It looks like you have a splitter jack going into power of your RC600. Or is that just another wire? Is that a split jack and if it is what else is getting powered at 12v. I mistakenly plugged a 9v pedal power supply into RC600 and it was working fine.
Hi Ross, the Guru of the RC 600. I programmed the buttons and faders on my MIDI keyboard. I used different buttons for start and stop of individual tracks. The only issue I am having is that I need to press the one button twice to start recording and another button twice to stop recording. Is there a way to just press the button once to enable each? Thank
Thanks, Ross. Do you know if there's a way to connect 2 controllers to one pedal? In my case I am trying to control the Boss RC-600 via both the Morningstar MC-8 (for the footswitches), and an Arturia Keylab 49 Essential (to access faders, knobs and drumpads). Since there is only one "MIDI IN" port on the RC-600, not sure if this is possible simultaneously, or needs a special connector.
Hmm, not too sure about that one to be honest. Have you asked anyone on the BOSS RC-600 Facebook group? There is a mountain of knowledge on there and I'm sure someone will be able to help you out of you haven't done so already.
little bit disappointed with the 600 as far as i can tell, please correct me if im wrong, but the fact you can only have one bank of input effects on at a time is ridiculous, considering how customizable its supposed to be whats the point of pluggin in all my instruments to the pedal if it cant serve as the necessary effects for each input? I need mic reverb, reverb for my acoustic and electirc, both plugged in seperately for easy and fast switchability, and more fx headroom for more guitar effects and such. Bass goes in too and i dont need much on it but still im disssapointed. I was trying to eliminate my sperate guitar fx pedal and mixer so that I could simplify my setup. I usually put everything into a mixer and ran the master into a loop pedal, but was trying to see if I could just use the rc 600 as the mixer too. also there isnt an option to route an input out of one of the subs with effects off, so you can get a dry signal for processing later, is this true? I couldnt find a toggable option for that.
(correct ME if I'm wrong, cuz I havn't hooked this up yet, but) Although u can only have 1 bank of input FX on at a time,, U can still program which input FX will be in each bank, and assign different FX to different inputs as "always on".. -though I'm not sure if those input specific (always on) FX need to be in the same bank or not. This is just info I've gathered from watching videos (while still figuring out what exact custom cables I will need to have made so that i can actually hook this thing up the way I want to..)
@@RossGallagherMusic hey Ross. LOL no worries.. I found it. The target is Rhythm Level. I wonder why Boss had Track Level and Track Fader? They both seem to do the same thing.

Very helpful, thank you!
You're very welcome. Glad you're finding the content helpful!
Question: can I control the RC600 with the Behringer Fcb1010 midi controller as well? Thanks in advance!
I haven't used one myself but I don't see why it wouldn't be possible.

Hi there! I was wondering if I could use my midi keyboard to act as a foot switch as well. Thanks in advance. Great video btw.
Thanks for the message. Do you mean you want to plug your keyboard into the ctrl input of the RC-600 to access those parameters?

Hi Art, have you got the RC-600 assign set to TOGGLE or MOMENTARY?
Are you able to have the low pass filter on just the instruments and not the vocals or vice versa?
Absolutely. I made a video recently on how to send FX to selected instruments and tracks if you want to check that one out.

I could not record the 5 pin midi input to rc 600 from my minilab. I can play drum kit on rc 600 from minilab but could not record? Any insights?
