Someone wake me up when Adobe adds something actually interesting.
I 100% agree with you, trouble is we're probably looking at decades rather than years
@@strengthbydesign True. Every now and then we do get something good though. It just shouldn't take this long.
Hey! Swinging by from the Adobe team to say love the tutorial! The new intertwine feature is my favorite and is going to make my own workflow so much quicker!
Hey thanks Kelsey, appreciate it 😊
The intertwine objects are dope and I'm glad they improved the images performance.
Love that intertwine tool! And I've been using the quick actions in photoshop since they added them more than I thought I would, so it's nice to see them bringing that to illustrator too!
Ah that’s good to know they’re useful! Hopefully they’ll add more in future 😊
Hey friend where is the pen tool stroke width altering option in new one SOS
Wishing positivity!!
@@askashutosh8667 Just type Width in a searchbar and the tool will be highlighted in the toolbar.
@@inkfr0 thankyou so much!!! ❤️
WOW adobe you have REALLY outdone yourself -- a whole three features for a year of development ! WOW
As a student going through school (MFA) keeping properties editable between Ai and Id is so helpful
I’m having a hard time saying Money well spent when given ”updates” like this 😂 Adobe could learn quite a bit from companies like Blender and Affinity when it comes to taking care of their users.
I was just thinkin the same before finding your comment. It makes you wonder where all millions are being spent,
probably on the CEO's yachts.
Thanks for the quick review! Cheers from Germany!
The intertwine is so cool!
I love the new intertwine feature! I like how speedy this video is.
Beat me too it 🤣Nice updates bro!
The intertwine should work like applying a layer mask and using the brush tool to erase some parts or reveal some on Photoshop.
Love the first feature, intertwine, great tool .
Thank you Dani 👍
always amazing ❤️
Had to do workarounds for years for that intertwine tool so excited to see that, but honestly just copying the txt formatting across is the single one i cant believe has taken so long.
love it the second feature amazing
Great 🙏🙏
Wow cool 😍😍
Thanks for sharing
Intertwine is nice, but for the rest, Affinity will do just as well.
I think Affinity does a lot of tasks better than illustrator, being able to copy and paste any shape inside another to mask it is revolutionary. I use it on iPad and the way you access a tools attributes is far superior
@@paulnicholas7393 agree.. with the latest Affinity V2, with measure and shape builder it got even better.
Thanks
👏🏾👏🏾
Greattt
Graphic styles have definitely been there for ages, and there are loads of presets as well.
thanks
Those transitions are great. Do you fancy making a tutorial on how to make them?
Commenting for dump, been looking for that for a while!
Been waiting for years now to have the brush or pencil or blob brush actually come to a fine point or actually behave like a real brush without multitudes of points if I put it on the accurate setting, but hey, guess I waited 20 years for them to rotate canvas. They might make a decent brush setting before I'm dead.
These are all very cool updates but I was really hoping for a midjourney plugin for tracing.
Apparently, it takes them a year to come up with that. I feel like adobe developers sit on their arses most of the year spinning their chairs around.
I really like the Intertwine feature, and to be honest was hoping for more of the same.
@@ForeverDansky I guess I am showing a bit of frustration. More related to InDesign to be honest which is where I spend most of my time and the year upon year of ignoring simple fixes to issues that have been in existence for ever. I just want to know what they actually do and why they don't fix the problems. I guess the flow of money is too good, just drip feed the muppets a couple of things each year happy days.
@@garethsnaim8174 Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign updates are all very weak this year. Intertwine is nice but how many times will you ever really use it? Beyond that, nothing compelling at all. Photoshop's updates are far too reliant on hit and miss AI tools.
@@garethsnaim8174 will this version have bugs as the previous upgrades ? :S
love
Well explained! I needed this video. The only thing I would ask is that each new version could be less heavy. It seems to me a program that overloads the computer's memory too much
For such a mature product illustrator is not at all optimized. When importing svg paths from mapping software with lots of points illustrator grinds to a halt, it's not good enough really for software aimed at a professional market.
I deal with Illustrator-InDesign transitions DAILY so the ability to finally move text between them will be a time saver.
Same here. It's also worth noting that it's more than just text. Object Styles and Gradients are also preserved. That's game changing for me as I no longer need to save the illustrator object as an ai file and import it into InDesign as a link. I can just copy-paste from illustrator directly into ID and the vector points are preserved and I can scale it without breaking the gradients. This feature almost makes up for me losing my Pantone books...almost.
Amazing
Thank you! Cheers!
Great video! I wished they bring more features to Illustrator for iPad too. Also on a not-so-much related opinion I think Xd is either dead or entered maintenance mode and this is sad.
Figma has destroyed it and dominated the UI/UX space
إنها ميزات مفيدة وجيدة
👍👍
Обзор огонь!!!
They also added a feature like this; The filenames "x.psd" and "y.tif" are "x.psd.psd" and "y.tif.tif" after making packages. They just didn't touch the JPGs.
Great video, there are many aspects to improve, though. Does anyone know if there are bugs -as always- in this latest version? I am still with the 2017 version due to the continuous problems that I read each year with the latest versions.
What frustrated me the most was how Adobe messed up the Gradient Tool. On the one hand, useful features were added, and on the other hand, the tool began to give unpredictable errors. Working in 2018 version
for intertwine make sure u dont touch part of the strokes otherwise u get artifacts.
Linked IMG lagged never been a big problem... a big problem is when you apply effect onto those IMGs and try to move them around then it will load until nextweek
I love Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop and have built my career off using them, but I think performance, performance, performance, needs to be their focus at this point. I love all the new features and I've built my career off Adobe but there's never been a time when I wasn't complaining about performance in almost 30 years. I suppose this is something about Adobe that is never going to change.
Exactly, feel like if you don't have 1000+ dollars computer you still have problem with adobe software
cries in Inkscape. They are just starting work on OpenGL hardware acceleration thankfully. The whole time it's been CPU-limited.
I'm sure they will apply features from figma to illustrator.
Any discerning palettes out there?
They need to update more for their ipad version
amazing , but some fonts is not works anymore in this version any way to fix this issue
where do you get the QUICK ACTIONS menu? when i go into my search i dont see any of those...
Was the thumb nail created in Illustrator? If so, what brushes were used? Looks like a pallet knife.
Please what method of transition do you put in this video 🌷
Ah the animated title cards? The animations are a pack of 2D FX downloaded from Envato Elements and then masked in Premiere Pro!
Great Update. You forgot the new bullet and numbering tool
Is that in the contextual Properties panel? If so, that’s been there a while now 👍
@@ForeverDansky They presented it as a new thing in the Adobe Max Keynote
@@waxmaster-c because not too many people knew about, especially when they just mentioned it for Indesign users, letting them know look you can do it in illustrator as well. Thanks for the quick posting, I watched the whole 2 hour event.🙏
Hahahahahahahaha!!!! I love humour!
What, you mean working with a format (png) that has been around for decades, actually works now? Way to get on top,of that one in a jiffy!!!
What'd be nice is if they'd fix some of the bugs that have gone unaddressed since they bought Flash and tried to cram it into every other product they had.
Also... How did you do that at 1:14 when you switched between the apps? 👀
Command + TAB on MacOS 👍
@@ForeverDansky amazing! Thank you so much! 🥰
Thanks. Great video.
However I wish Adobe would go back to single license pricing instead of milking users with CC subscription
I have upgraded to version 2023, please tell me how to get Quick Actions feature. I tried in Discover but it doesn't work, plsss!
The properties panel is contextual, so whether the 'Quick Actions' appears or not, will depend on what you do or don't have selected 👍
Quick action not showing 🤔 why?
I am unable to find the Blur effect on Illustrator, please help
This should be tiled the single new feature in Adobe Illustrator 2023 - Remember when Illustrator had a competitor? long time ago, they used to actually introduce some good features, the App hasn't really changed in years has it. I know the intertwine is quite nice but not wow. An intermediate to advanced user wouldn't even need it, everything else introduced is a snooze fest this year. Let’s face it, already existed in the app but very slightly tweaked/fixed. Really, a whole year for intertwine? I can't wait till next year for the next slightly useful single feature. I really don't know how they get away with this. I've been using Illustrator since 1989 (Illustrator 88) and seen the introduction of most features and still the most useful one after all these years is layers. I remember when it didn't even have layers. To confirm, all the other features "introduced this year" apart from Intertwine are old features that should have worked properly in the first place, such as text from InDesign, they have the gall to introduce it again, in other words "fix" it and have the nerve to call it a new feature! Do you really buy that? or quick actions, (graphic styles) affectively already had them for years, so this just makes the interface even more confused and complicated for new users or a couple of new export options for 3D art and placed graphic slightly sped up, is that really it for 2023 and my years Subscription for just intertwine. ?, Snoooozze Fest.
Exactly!!!
How many new feature in InDesign?
question : i, accidentally rotate my pasteboard. how to undo it? it happened twice. thank you
Ah yes! Go to "View --> Rotate View" and you can either reset or select a different rotation 🙂
Where is pen tool stroke width change option in new ai 23 help community.
Thankyou in advance
Wishing positivity!!
Can I open illustrator 2023 oni5 4590. 16gb ram. Intel hd graphic 4600
Can it run on
pc i5 4590
12 gb ram. ssd .intel hd graphics 4600
Not so much updates. I like the first one
First one 🔥
So intertwine is basically masking without the all the jazz that we had to do until now, like it. Everything else you mentioned is meh... I use adobe since cs3, nothing much changed over the years, bunch of quality of life improvements here and there, ok as im writing the comment i recall that i use adobe for at least 15 years, actually there are pretty cool stuff included over the years. Oh yeah here's a video idea, highlight the most important updates and features for the last 15 years of adobe (insert your tool of trade here). If you already did that, i challenge you to do it in 2:30 min :)
And Affinity Designer!!! It is dream compared to Illustrator. Affinity Publisher is a dream compared to InDesign! The only thing I love about Adobe are Lightroom Classic and Photoshop. Adobe Express is intetesting in a way. XD is a catastrophy!
@@peterwilson9699, hate to break it to you, but if you scroll down in Dansky's video history, you will come to realization that he's an expert with adobe, and the majority of his expertise is with adobe's tools. Your idea is great, but you should find someone who's content is made for both audience, affinity and adobe. So they can make fair comparison. I'd watch that too honestly.
Is this version 27?
I pay for this feature but Adobe felt like I wasn't ready for it yet... or something
I get an error message EVERY TIME I try to use 3D - both new 3D and legacy. It works fine on my work computer but not my own iMac. Doesn’t even work on a brand new file with nothing but a single square that I’m trying to extrude. To trouble shoot, I re-installed Ai - still no luck. Any ideas? Adobe Forum useless on the matter.
iMac, well get a machine with more horsepower.
That’s it?!
0:23 - these are things that Adobe will never tell you when they come out with their new "amazing" features.
Intertwine will be a gamechanger for lazy logo designers !
How do I downgrade back to older version?
From the Creative Cloud desktop app, click three dots next to Illustrator icon to download older versions 👍
Nobody noticing the bug at 0:35?
u need to make a selection that doesnt touch the stroke, kinda hard to explain, he does it right after the bugged one then it works fine.
Okay.
Wow new features with a new big price :(
Unfortunately, RUclips no longer show number of “don’t likes” anymore - but I’ll just do it here, although it’s probably just a matter of time until they start stopping negative comments too - such is freedom of speech! So here it goes - I love illustrator and Adobe, but this update 2023 is really scanty and niggardy. The 3D Tools haven’t changed much since illustrator 3.0, about 20 odd years ago!
haha!
the new features: Look at this shiny nothing burger. Dig in boys! lol.
Intertwine is good... the rest is meh, boring. Ai is becoming even more of a laggard at Adobe :(
Yea, would of liked to see a few more new features that made me go "oooOOOooo"
Thx Dansky but boring new features… As many years.
It's only October!
Great copy text from one App to another - big deal - what is so special about that? That’s been around for years in other App
I wish they would stop being lazy and implement what we saw in project Lincoln with the graphs. That tool hasn't been updated in 20 years!
im not very impressed lol. This is basically no updates
Well those are disappointing
When its Ai, but not AI
2023 and u still cant create easy bevel effect, what a shame
Most of the new features are completely useless garbage. It would be better to spend time developing tools for working with textures, as they did in affinity designer
What’s new is the inability to work in large format and export as tiff without losing your work while the program crashes. When I work in 2022 it’s totally fine though. Spent days on the phone with Adobe and they can’t fix it.
Wow, three or four dumb-ass features and you have a new version... Thanks, I will wait until the 2099 release, I hope it will be worth it then.
You should include the new feature that adobe doesn't allow you to update pantone colors . 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
thanks
