Thanks for another review. For $250, Freewell offers something that Fuji offers for $700, if I'm not mistaken. Plus a macro lens. Fuji has its advantages, but at this price it's unbeatable. I just noticed that for some photos from the teleconverter, the exif data shows 19mm, so the camera menu has been switched to wide angle converter. It might be worth using the same little hack for these lenses that is used on the first generation of Fuji converters - i.e. sticking a little magnet on the inside, so that the camera itself detects the type of converter and adjusts the settings, line alignment, etc.
That's strange, I had the camera set to teleconverter... Now I'm wondering if I made a mistake somewhere. I haven't looked at the hack yet because I'm convinced I would screw it up. :)
@@BoorayPerryI don't think there should be a problem with the hack if there's space on the freewell lenses for that tiny magnet - but I think there is. It's just a matter of polarity - one side of the magnet shows wide, the other side tele. Just try driving the magnet near the X100 lens and see for yourself how it reacts and how the camera adjusts the settings. I think it's worth a try because you often forget to switch some settings and when it's automatic, it's better.
Otherwise, in general, about converters. Some people say they are unnecessary and that the X100 series is all about that single 35mm focal length. But I think the converters give you a huge opportunity to have the whole kit very small and relatively light - it fits in one small shoulder bag. But the photographer gets a range of about 26-105mm in one device at a relatively very good aperture without having to change glass in the field and risk dusting the chip. The camera is completely weather sealed. The alternative would mean some very bright and expensive zoom lens, or several separate glasses, the changing of which already increases the risk of dusting the chip in the field. It would also mean more weight than the X100 with two converters.
Hey Booray, I learned a new word in photography, Concave. I liked the Black and White photos and I'm impressed with The image stabilisation. You will enjoy using it, and at $149 it will make a good Birthday or Christmas present. Thanks Booray I enjoyed watching what this Freefell Teleconver can do. 😊📸.
Received mine today and I have an issue straight out of the box. With the teleconverter attached when you try to focus on the minimum focus distance camera gives a focus error. So it looks like the tcl is touching front lens element of X100VI
@ it happens with filters if you screw them without adapter (backwards). I have contacted Freewell and they confirmed that it is that adapter ring problem and they will send a replacement
@@caterinadisalvo1477 Yes although you can probably see the end of the lens. I'm sorry but I don't have my camera in my hand right now and I wanted to get back to you
Hi,,, just seen this vlog,,, Just a thought for you,,, since this wasn't a comparison video,,, wouldn't it of been possible to of rented a Fuji compatible lens to make the comparison,,, it would of been more of a win win situation to your followers,,, My thought process being,,, if the Fuji lens is only the same or not that much better,,, then you would of saved 200$,, However if your only hooked on the Fuji brand,,, it wouldn't even matter if the lens was better,,, you would still get the Fuji comparison,,, (Just sayin)

I noticed that with the wide angle but I also had that happen with filters on my X100V.

Have you compared rings from wide and tele? Looks like one of them is shorter and the front lens element touches the adapter with it
@@zblsk Oh, good to know. Now I'll have to check mine. :)

Is there only in silver?
Comes in black too. :)
@BoorayPerry where do I find it? Thanks ✨

@caterinadisalvo1477 there's a link in the description to Amazon. The black model is on the same page
