my neighbor knows someone who can weld, I paid for the metal and time of fabrication. So maybe trying to do the same, ask around, see if someone that can weld steel can help.
@@lagrangebees welcome I am interested in the life of bees and even passionate about it. I want to modernize this profession in the apiary in which I work. If you could please tell me how to make this box for melting the wax, I know how to solder, types of iron, and the like. So whoever has an idea, let me write the method and I will contact him. Peace be upon you, my friend. I hope you are well. Today is the Muslim holiday and we have Friday prayers. I will pray to God to forgive your sins and guide you to the true path. On this day there will be an hour of answer from God Almighty. I hope it will be an hour of answer, God willing.
It's in the bottom of my storage shed so I'm not gonna dig it out for photos, but I can give you rough dimensions. I painted it in heat resistant paint meant for BBQs of fireplaces. It's made of steel and is roughly 2 inches wider and longer than a standard bottom board, I would recommend you make it at least 4-6 inches taller than your deepest super type. Some brackets were welded to the cover to push the boxes down below the wax. Walls are 1/8th inch thick bottom is 1/4 inch thick. A ball valve was added should I need to purge the tank.
Bought the 50/50 pre-blended blocks and it took about ~200$ (Canadian) to initially fill this tub. After that the consumption is much lower another ~200$ of wax blend covered 40-ish boxes? Numbers aren't precise it's been almost 4 years since i bought the wax, but that's a rough estimate
@@EthanJones08 I don't remember the exact size, but it is roughly 24 inch long, 20 inch wide and ~16 inch deep. Basically added took the measurements of a deep super and added 4 inches to each, you could make it ~32 - 34 inches deep to treat 2 supers at the same time, but I needed something I could move alone.
did you ever have an issue with it not being deep enough and boiling over? I was thinking pretty much the same thing about expanding the dimensions of a 10 frame deep. @@lagrangebees
@@EthanJones08 Only had too much wax at the first time I filled it, didn't account for the wax's thermal expansion. Also my earlier statement about the depth was probably a little high (I'll edit that). it's probably ~16 inch deep but I would recommend maybe 18. just have pusher brackets welded on the cover that take that into account
I saw you in Castle Hives live. Hello from Texas. I find bee keeping fascinating. Have a blessed evening!
Hello Der! Thank you for dropping by! :)
Welcome, I want to buy a large pot for melting wax like the one you have. Can you please tell me how to buy or make it? Thank you

Hello sir: I ask you to give me some pictures of a wax boiling box to get an idea of how it works or is manufactured. Thank you

@@lagrangebees Welcome, this is new valuable and beautiful information that I dealt with a good person like you. Thank you, dear friend
Great video! How are you heating the tank?
I use a propane burner meant for outdoor cooking (say for boiling large pots of corn cobs for example)
How much did the wax cost to fill the tank. I have been checking around here in Tennessee, seems expensive to do the 1/2 paraffin, 1/2 microcrystallin

Trying to find a tank like that is very difficult. Where did you get yours?
I had it made, my neighbor knows a welder and made it out of scrap metal for 400$ canadian
what are the dimensions for it?@@lagrangebees

you have to atleast dip for 5 min. not being a dick but this is not right
I'm wondering if you watched beyond the first 30 seconds before making a snap judgment... Because I clearly state at 1:19 "wait 10 minutes" ...
@@lagrangebees yah sorry was watching a few videos at once mixed up my comment. any one wax dipping is a hero i only got about 50 tiny burns today lol
