They'd just swim right back onto their beds after release, so as long as you minimize the amount of time you keep them out of the water the impact is pretty minimal. That’s the main thing I like about bed fishing is the opportunity to put a camera in front of where you know they’ll strike! It’s always interesting to see how they react to lures, and random things like the shadow of a bird flying by I’ve seen startle them off the bed. The craw is definitely deadly that time of year! I tried a worm a few years back and got most of the fish I put it in front of. There were a few that just wouldn’t go for the worm though and it only took a cast or two for a craw to get them to react.

Awesome video! Really appreciate the time you put into setting up the underwater shots and how methodical you are with all the fish. No need to be ripping lips to land the big ones!

I love the underwater shots man! I find that watching them teaches me how to present the bait in the water. Great job!

I bought a 10 ft pontoon and used it for the first time last week. You make paddling look so easy, mad respect for you. Great video as always.

Just started doing this this year and it's a ton of fun. A little trick I picked up of they aren't interested is to tap your pole 3 times when it's on the nest and they spin right around to look at it. It triggers a bite or at least gets their attention almost every time

Interesting to see how plain the patterns look when they're on the bed, then you reel them in and they're gorgeous! Colors must come out when they get all pissy

You can stick a little filter on the gopro (or any camera) so they capture color/contrast correctly underwater.

I used to have Oscar fish multi colors like albino or white with orange colors and brown with also orange and bright colors and almost dark brown/black with same patterns and when they get aggressive when they know your about to dump in a bunch of goldfish, they literally go nuts in happiness and raging, and their colors go from bland no patterns colorfully showing to bright ass colors and patterns while they are eating and excited! It is super interesting for sure and want to have a few again in an aquarium so I can record them now days

Its a defence mechanism, tht wards of larger apex predators.....
Redbreast panfish do the same....they get super bright orange the moment you pull them out the water....it's a "warning" sign to not touch, but it doesn't work lol 😆😅

I’ve noticed largemouth do the same. They change their green color and their spots get much darker. It’s cool if you can get them in quick, they change color in your hand
