Getting an ocean stretch all the way to the horizon without repetition and gigabytes of data while looking photo realistic is the challenge today in Blender.
Good video tutorial as always. You can see that it is feasible for the boat to crash into the waves and produce foam and such (spray)...There are videos on RUclips but it is easier now...Thanks for your channel..
I make it to the keyframes part but when I create keyframes they are one dot instead of 3 stacked, and blender adds a line inbetween my single keyframe dot at 1s and my keyframe at 250. no movement.
I wonder if geometry nodes could do the boat part better by just getting the mean/average of all the face normals or tangents combined and rotating the boat on the x and y axis accordingly
I don't seem to be getting any foam after doing the setup. The nodes look correct and I have the foam box checked and the right data layer and everything, but nothing happens when I move the "exponent" slider.
I appended a boat but it appears on its side...not with its keel on the shrinkwrap. I imported an . obj and converted to Blender mode. Where am I going wrong?
I made all steps but the outcome is not the same, why? Its very very different ,and the tutorial is too fast i think, you can hardly see where you are clicking :/
Thank you for always putting out quality content that is straight to the point.
What a great tutorial! I learned quite a few things I didn't know before. Thanks a lot!

There’s a superrr good tutorial on it that also uses camera culling, I wish I could remember who made it if I find it i’ll post here.
That's a great tutorial. Easy to understand and focused on the important things.
You forgot to mention in the plane's Modifier Ocean, the Foam Coverage parameter. Very useful to make the foam thinner (accept negative values)
Thanks for the tip!
how would you loop that though? foam doesnt seem to work when you try to loop it
Amazing!! Thank you for taking the time to show us how all this is done. Keep it up!
Man this is incredibly cool and useful. I wonder how someone would do this with anime style though...
Sweet! Thanks for sharing.
We needed this years ago. Thanks.

I love this I have been meaning to try to create at least one game in my life.

Your videos are so helpful and concise
Wow, that looks easy enough that I could do it, with your help of course!
nice one, how do you get the water out of the boat?
Hey, is there a way to make this type of ocean voxel based? That would be so cool
Really great tutorial ! But i still got a question, how to aviod water inside the boat ?
This is very helpful
❤ te amo. Siempre tan claro y preciso. Saludos amigo

or maybe with ray casting node)
Amazing as always! :)
Is there any way we can increase the resolution of the foam?
I wanted to do the same thing. I think it can be done with the render field in the top section of the modifier and preview it with the resolution view
Thanks! Will give it a try!@@pavidarkin9797
can you make a video for maybe curling/ crashing waves? I do not need it animated, just a static mesh for a still render
for a still render the ocean modifier can be applied and then from there you can box model and sculpt it
My boat just moves up and down, and does not tilt with the waves. What should I do?
wow amazing
Finally, easy and transparent tutorial how to make ocean.
So smart 🧠 👍🏼

Thanks.
for some reason when I copy transforms my boat is rotated 180. when I try to reduce influence it spins it

Je veux acheter le livre mais j'aimerais savoir si il y'a la version française. French version book
Hey, the book is in English only.
Wish there was a “smooth constraint” option available..
another way is to just make a vertex parent with three vertices of the ocean and parent the boat to those.
👍 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
if anyone knows of a video from an proper instructor please post link here.

99 cuts 😂😂. Pc about to go boom
I used a simple multires or subdivision modifier instead and set a lower level for the viewport.
