  • Close to Pooley Bridge in the Lake District is Waterfoot Park, we have stayed in our motorhome many times over the years and thought it would be great to check it out and see if it still has its quaint and quiet charm. We stayed 2 nights in the campervan in the touring area and also visited the Manor House as well as a wander on part of the Ullswater Way.
While we were there, we also took the Ullswater Bus to the Inn on the Lake at Glenridding where we had a luxury afternoon tea which was a lovely birthday present from last year - delicious!
We also wandered into Pooley Bridge for a tasty breakfast.

Hi David Rachel and Roxy what a smashing site that is caters from every needs. The weather was good for you guys. Watching this now looking out of living room window all we can see is more rain. It's all changed since Sunday. Last Thursday in the early hours of the morning at Carlisle Castle car park some people had to be rescued from their motorhome's and campervans by the fire brigade with a boat heavy rain had flooded the car park about 2 feet of water one was a German couple on a overnight stay before heading into Scotland. Unfortunately for them they were going no further There was also 2 holiday coaches stranded We never get 2 days the same now
Keep up the good work from us in Workington
    Malcolm and Sheila.

Hi guys it was such a lovely site and much quieter than those on the other side of the lake. It’s with it only having g a small touring area with allocated pitches. The Mansion house was lovely and a great little potter into Pooley Bridge. 💕
We have just left our site for last night in pouring rain and heading into sun now!
Carlisle doesn’t need any more rain! Dad said it had been bad.
He is back out selling tomatoes 🍅 @ Silloth and Wigton if you happen upon him 😘💕

Loving the vlog guys staggering scenery. Sorry to hear that is not keen on sheep!! Personally we love them, particularly with roast potatoes and mint sauce 😋 🤣🤣 and we don't believe for a moment that was water in Rachel's glass. Stay safe guys. Sid and Nicola.

It was beautiful scenery wasn’t it!
      😂😂😂 I had lamb today 😂😂😂
I just think they look at me all shifty 😂😂
Honestly I can 1000% confirm it was water. It was poured for me by the waiter - I wouldn’t normally get a glass of water! 💦

Hi David and Rachel another lovely video and we really must go to the Lake District the scenery looks absolutely lovely it’s an area we have only visited once before but been all around it! Pooley Bridge looks a great base with lots of things to see and do. That afternoon tea looked wonderful and what a view to enjoy it with! Definitely jam first on scones the Cornish way! Another fantastic site and can see why you like it it looks well maintained and to have lots of facilities just the kind of place to get away from it all all the best to you both Daniel

Waterfoot is a great site, so much more peaceful than Park Foot and Waterside. We are over there for three nights week after next. Looking forward to your Sykeside vlog David, never stayed on that one.

Hi Richard yes it is so much quieter than the sites on the other side of the lake. A bit further to walk into Pooley Bridge but not much.
Sykeside is very different again. A lot of tents 🏕️

Thanks for the comment. Most of the time we go the sun goes into hiding too - but when it shines it’s amazing isn’t it? Whilst the weather was a bit mixed, we did feel we got lucky! Hope you’ve had a great bank holiday weekend - all the best, David & Rachel 👍

This site looks just our cup of tea. Some of the Pooley Bridge sites are too big for us, we prefer a bit of peace and quiet! If you don't mind us asking, what are they charging per night as some of the Lake District sites are eye wateringly expensive.

    • @LeisureBit
      @LeisureBit  Месяц назад +1

It is a much more structured site. So only allocated pitches and there are only a few pitches so it doesn’t get rowdy at all.
Mis season £31 per night which isn’t bad for the lakes but with it being small and quieter it does get booked up. Well worth it though
      Thank you for your comments

@@LeisureBit That's very reasonable for the Lake District. Think we'll give it a try at the back end when it's quieter.😊
