Since day one I've watched your videos with great interest and enjoyment - your ability to think your way through design and aesthetics issues is brilliant. Your work's getting very accomplished - you should be very proud of yourself.
I know it's a huge amount of work, but I hope you're enjoying this, too. It's starting to look very stylish on board, James. That door is beautiful--and it works, too! (There's a neat sort of door pull that's sunk into the door. It contains a ring that pulls out when it's needed but otherwise it stays nice and flat on the door.)
You've cracked on with them doors... we have pocket doors on our boat Tranquility no wheels on the bottom they just hang with u shaped guide at the bottom ...we love the space saving and convenience awesome 👍
Well James your boat is really coming along nicely... All I can say is that your videos are always interesting and informative.. anyway mate keep safe and well.
Hi James, the door is looking good. If you haven't already done so, now is the time to sort out the ironmongery. You will need finger pulls etc, which may stand slightly proud of the face. If they catch on the pocket walls it will drive you crazy!
Looking amazing! Pocket doors have a removable panel to allow access to the hangers for future adjustment, that might be worth a consideration? Once set up with the doors clear the walls the front face accepts a finishing strip to minimise the visual gap. Finger pulls recess into the door. Thanks for yet another very entertaining update
These won’t quite be accessible. I think the boat will need to be taken apart to adjust them. I’m glueing the hell out of everything to hope that doesn’t happen
Another boat I've seen has the door furthest forward in the centre of the boat - probably no use for a double bed on the side but interesting to see. Turned the boat into sleeping quarters and living quarters.
GREAT Solution for the sliding doors! I plan on using similar casters on a kitchen project for my home, too! If you want the doors, or the door trim darker - why don't you use the wax that you used on Sloe Patrol? That looks GREAT, and won't cover up the grain of the wood, either. Might match up pretty well with the trim on the Galley Cupboard doors, too.
How about a small round handed ever side of the door and when fully open sliding in to a cut out and when closing users magnetics, hope this helps Tony
Nice job on the door James, you should maybe consider glueing on a felt strip on the inner walls top and bottom to protect the door sides when you slide it, it will also stop it rattling.
That came out looking quite good, James. The door only needs to be wide enough to close the gap, plus an half an inch inside the pocket. All the best, mate. Have a good one!
James, to correct the look of the door. cut a strip from your off cuts and pin and glue into place To get the look you need. The fact that you have two strips next to each other won’t matter as it won’t be visible. In fact you could do your design with strips rather than cut pockets out of a whole sheet. Much less waste.
@@TheNarrowboatThatJamesBuilt right, I must have missed that then, did think I imagined it at first, then went back for another look, think your doing well with the layout, good work.
I saw another nb ( Elton Moss) use pocket doors, and they cut a notch in the pocket wall's opening edges to accommodate a "U" shaped pull handle on both sides. This allowed the door to fully slide into the pocket, and still have access to the handles. 👍
Hi James, just wondering when you are going to do a members only video, I have been a member for over 3 years and support your channel each month but you haven’t posted anything for over 10 months.

Lite Teak from Rustins looks good on plywood James.
Wow….very nice. You’re an expert with the jigsaw.
Haha wouldn’t say that but I can a straightish line now
Absolutely amazing jigsaw work - I've seen rougher laser cuts.
Bloody lovely ❤

Yeah I’m looking into something like that
How about putting some felt strips between the door and the wall to suppress the noise? Just a thought.
Good work as ever, James.
Ooh noise suppression with felt - that’s a sweet idea

Thanks James, enjoying the progress. Take care.

Cracking job James, well done
Just another option a small but raised ramp cannel for the doors to roll through↗️🚪↘️
Nice work!!
Excellent job James - it’s really coming together nicely. Well done 😃
Thanks so much

That was an oak colour and I want darker than that. I’ve gone for walnut and it’s looking the muts nuts mate !!
@@TheNarrowboatThatJamesBuilt Right ON! Looking GREAT!
Just varnish the door and keep it the same as the inner panel, it looks good as it is
Doors looking grand James well done hope you and the kids have a good Easter tc the oldies 👍🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
How about a small round handed ever side of the door and when fully open sliding in to a cut out and when closing users magnetics, hope this helps Tony
just finished binge watching all your previous uploads, thanks and well done so far
Jeez - that’s a feat
Add the additional 9mm 👍

Can you carry out any maintenance on that door? Just wondering if you can adjust at a later date?
What about some felt strips on the inside of the walls to stop the doors rubbing on the internal wooden walls. Just a thought?
All you need is for it to make a "hiss" sound. ;-D
💜💙💚
That came out looking quite good, James.

Thanks bud - I’m happy with it tbh.

That was my original plan and I’ve now glued in those bits - works a treat with some varnish !!
Doing good sorting that awkward shape door, just a quick question, have you cut out a foot shape in the floor? If yes, why? Or did I miss something?
Haha!! That was where the old shower drain was. My kids also think it’s a foot!!
I will be using that as an inspection hatch for the baseplate
@@TheNarrowboatThatJamesBuilt right, I must have missed that then, did think I imagined it at first, then went back for another look, think your doing well with the layout, good work.
Yeah I saw that too and had to take a closer look hahaha
Well done James you only mention trim once tonight😂😂
The door looks great- much better than I expected- have you thought about how you’re going to do the handles so they don’t foul on the pocket?
I saw another nb ( Elton Moss) use pocket doors, and they cut a notch in the pocket wall's opening edges to accommodate a "U" shaped pull handle on both sides. This allowed the door to fully slide into the pocket, and still have access to the handles. 👍
Impressed by the doors ..... But please seal the edges properly before the doors are made inaccessible within the walls?
👍👌❤️🇨🇦, hey James , what was in the Power Queen box
Hi James, just wondering when you are going to do a members only video, I have been a member for over 3 years and support your channel each month but you haven’t posted anything for over 10 months.
Don’t put any wheels on the bottom of your pocket door. It works against the head mechanism
Smashed it James 👌😎😃
