    The queen in the first colony in the bottom box you inspected, since you added two frames, could stay down there in the bottom box until she lays on those two frames. The nurse bees will move up into the added box with frames, noting if there wasn't already enough on the frames you moved up. By neutralizing the brood between your two colonies, and, moving honey frames from honeybound top box of first colony, you could have achieved the same objective without adding another box in between on the first honey bound colony, but it works, but you will have to reduce back to two boxes for the winter. By putting the honey bound honey frames on outside of the second colony you inspected, means the bees in the second colony wouldn't have to use any more honey to draw out those outside frames. Always use drawn out frames so bees don't have to use resources late in the season to draw the comb. Thanks for sharing.

      Can I mix honey frames from one colony to another one?

    • @spirestocksnotification6710
      @spirestocksnotification6710 11 месяцев назад

      @MVitorino1962 You can mix any frames without the bees. Just take a turkey feather or very fine brush and gently scrape off the bees into the middle of open box where the bees came from, then take the smoker and smoke both sides of now the empty frame to neutralize smell, then immediately put in a nuc and cover until you are ready to put in other hive, you have to quickly but gently scrape off bees, may take four or five swipes each side and smoke to get them off and brush across and down at an angle not to damage the brood. It is better to scrape the frames that do NOT have the queen, so you do not damage queen

    You can also harvest honey and bring back the harvested frames for the bees to clean up and then use for her to lay or for more stores. You also get some honey also which is of course a bonus. That is what I did this year my bees were doing the same thing.

    Watch Ian Stepeler and That Bee Mann videos for timing. Some of the best advice i ever got was from The Pink Pages that George Imrie used to write. Crowd them in the fall and give them lots of extra room in the spring! This winter look up Pink Pages. He had a funny style of writing and was super knowledgeable.

    Doing great! Just a suggestion about scrap wax, do not through it on the ground, just keep a jar with you when you go for inspection and collect it all. You can use that wax later for your bees. If you have new frames, you can melt that wax and smudge it with brush , to make bees build comb faster.

    Auguast seems really late to be adding supers in North America. Most beeks are ending their honey extraction and preparing for winter. Bees should be storing nectar in brood boxes for winter.

    I pulled my last supers yesterday. I put Formic Pro on as i pull supers if temperatures cooperate. I go back and hit thme with OAV in November and December after brood laying has ceased.

    Marking your queen...not sure what method you plan on using, but you can practice on a few drones.

    Did I see an uncapped queen cell on the bottom of the frame at 26:53 ?

    If you see eggs close the box. The more you have it open the more you set them back.

    If ypu take the supers off now they will back fill brood boxes and you will not need to feed as much if any.
