I have my mothers wooden darning egg. I used it in high school when we had to actually darn a sock. I think it was probably her mothers or grandmothers.

The thing you called a bodkin - could that be a shuttle that you hook your yarn or thread to when you're weaving on one of those big looms where you work the pedals with your feet and it switches the warp and weft threads? (That may be totally wrong terminology....). Regardless, junking is fun! Thanks for the video!
