Fantastic job! Not only do the instruments sound amazing, the controls have great depth, and the interface has a useful graphical reference. Very pleased to have this unique set of instruments in my arsenal!

Thanks! But how do you play a 7#9 chord (the "Jimi Hendrix-Chord")? Maybe a stupid question, sorry...

Not a stupid question! The answer is that you can only play the chord types we sampled. I picked the chord qualities that are most common to the bossa nova style, and that particular chord didn't make the list. There are definitely some tunes that use it, but it's not a "bread a butter" chord type in the style. I have had decent results just using the dom7 b9 even if the rest of the band is playing a #9 - since both the b9 and #9 come from either a diminished scale or altered scale sound.

Great! Would it be possible to add a feature for legato mode 2 that does not trigger the landing note, but just gives you the initial note and the slide?

      Hi Peter,
Thanks for the feedback! We seriously considered recording an option like that, but you can't do everything and in the end, we decided on doing the two options that are included as they give the most contrast between each other. Mode 1 is more understated/bread-and-butter and Mode 2 is more "flashy" and stands out more.
It might be possible, through scripting, to blend the mode 2 transition portion with a regular sustain, but I think we'd really need to record new samples to have it sound good. That's something we could do, and I'll add it to a feature-request list.
In the meantime-while it doesn't sound exactly like a slide-you could try playing a quick chromatic run in legato mode 1 (with mid/low velocities) it does produce a similar effect. Perhaps that would allow you to get close to the sound you're going for.

@@authenticsoundware Cool - could one way of doing it be to just "edit/fade out" the landing note? You have recorded the glissando/slide after all, so the information is there in a way.

@@PeterHarket In some cases, it can be done that way. However, for maximum realism, we didn't record the transitions as one short sample and then crossfade in one of the sustain samples at the end. We recorded one performance that includes both the slide and the re-attacked sustain with its full ring-out. (It took about 10x longer to record it this way, but that's why it sounds so good!) So, while the information is kind of there, we didn't record it with the crossfade approach in mind and we don't have recordings of the isolated transition sample with a natural decay. To do it the crossfade way, I'd need to re-edit all the transitions and re-script the legato as a one-off for this new articulation. (I'd also need to change the UI, and key switch script). My gut says I could get it out quicker and better by recording new samples. I'm definitely adding this to the top of the feature request list, and really appreciate the feedback!
