piecesfit Those words like you said are so true...My husband of 42 years went home to his Heavenly Father 2016.I am a firm believer that God doesn't make mistakes, through him the first year or so after music,(literally played songs literally 6- 8 hours a day and night,) became my saving grace.Memories of every old song and a few of the new ones coming out help me to go on with a little more courage a little more strength and a whole lot of comfort.
This song reminds me of my grandson who is full of a bridge 🌉 of water that he can get the comfort of annoying it then of knowing his family and his girlfriend 🤣 I wish you knew his dad and I will never get to 😊 tell him who is and that breaks my heart ❤️ tell everybody all about somebody who saved him Jesus did 🙏🏻💞
Okay, gents. I'm 60 years old this May. I could feel the sincerity in your song. Please keep the emotions real in your music. I'm hooked. Hope to see you in Sacramento sometime. Love what you are playing - Rex
This song has stuck with me ever since I heard it at Carnival of Madness Birmingham. The best gig of my life to date. Standing there crying at Things my Father Said, grown men crying all around me. I'm so glad you've released this song. That night will stick with me forever and you made it happen BSC.
One of the very best ballads. Chris, I can understand why this song makes you emotional. It touches my heart too. Thanks for being so genuine! BLACK STONE CHERRY ROCKS!!!✌✌
There’s something about how much power music has when this made me cry the first time I listened to it and i have nothing to feel sad for, genuinely made me feel like I’d lost someone really close to me
When I first listened to this song upon buying the album, I already knew this was the most beautiful and emotional song on Kentucky. This video, with the imagery included, gives a good perspective on what this song is really about. Thank you, Black Stone Cherry. Keep up the good work!
Song reminds me of a beautiful little girl I had the pleasure of being a step father to from 4 months to 2 years old. I loved her as my own. Haven't seen her in many years. I wonder if she will ever remember me.
was at the carnival of madness show in cardiff if i remember rightly it was things my father said then the rambler straight after never stood a chance i was crying like a baby so much dam soul in those tunes amazing dudes amazing band

They almost lost who they were and went back to there roots before they lost who they were!! Big big!! Props to them for not losing the reserves throughout the fame and shit dude!!

Amazing song and video! Love, love, love all the beautiful kids, but Henry gets to me the most! My wife and I love our furbaby Chevy the Corgi so much! He just turned 7 yesterday, and he is the greatest. The homeplace for BSC and the Kentucky Headhunters reminds me of going to my grandparents house in rural Arkansas. It has an older house, barn, pasture woods, and all that. Walked all over that place when I was a kid. It is still in the family, but it hurts to go back and not see my grandparents there. Boy my eyes were leaking after watching this.... These guys are the real deal. They treat you like long lost friends when you talk to them even if they've never seen you before. Got to meet them in Tunica,MS in 2013!
How great this song is for me, I just moved away from Lexington, KY after living there for 2.5 years, lots of memories and a girl I loved there, really hard not to cry during this song. Kudos guys
To see how far these guys have come I still remember when the plaza in our town first re-opened and we were doing a Christmas musical and they came on afterwards I’ve always listened to them since I was little and looked up to them for guidance they are truly a blessing to this small town in Kentucky
Man, saw them at Wembley arena a couple of weeks ago, they dedicated an acoustic version of "Things My Father Said" to everyone who has lost someone, then managed to get the entire audience in a stunned silence as they played this. Absolutely beautiful, and a highlight of a spectacular gig...
This song is just beautiful. I was adopted at the age of five and this reminds me of the search for my biological family. now I sing this to my son every day.
I love stories like this... It's amazing how music can touch your soul and give you perspective. I hope you find your biological family and hold your son tight; they don't stay young for long and will make families of their own before you know it. Best wishes.
Don’t bother . They turned us away when we needed them . Now your adopted parents have done the heavy lifting the bios come crawling out of the woodwork . When you have a kid you realise what pos you bios were

Met my 30 year old Daughter to celebrate her Birthday today. Her mother finally let her know who I was last September. We made first contact on New Year's Day. This has broken me down since the first time I heard it. Parts of this beautiful, heartfelt tune are very relevant to my situation. I was already a fan and have attended multiple shows. The last was at the Blind Tiger in Greensboro on Memorial Day Weekend. Thanks for the music. Keep it real. Much Love & Respect.
