It's great to see such traditional Japanese restaurants trying hard to accommodate foreign diners. I think this is a huge step forward for Japanese tourism and thanks to byFoods for promoting these places in all the right ways. This is my first video from Japan by Food, but like everyone else is saying, Stephanie's commentary is very entertaining and informative. I can't wait for more videos to come.
I loved to see the enthusiasm from Stephanie; it's a great and positive change from some of the previous videos! I thought the sushi lab was better since they understood speaking in english and had the pictures of the fish to show you also. That really seems like a more complete experience for a foodie.
Wow, Stephanie really knows how to find hidden gems!❤ I love how these places offer top-notch sushi without the hefty price tag. Can’t wait to check them out! Thank you for sharing this amazing content! ❤
We went to Sushi Labo on our trip to Tokyo this past October and had the same sushi chef! He was very pleasant and showed us the fish on his iPad too. Delicious sushi and the service was impeccable!
Thank you for the cool sushi video Stephanie! Both sushi restaurants looked so good. When I go back to Japan, I'll try both restaurants. Thanks again and kanpai!🍶
Would like to try them both, different ambience, style and cuts. Like yourself, one plate and i'd be done especially with the other options. Nice to see you Steph, looking forward to your next video and hair colour. Japan by food, great vids, great filming, great locations, lovely girls and film staff.
Basashi next time, summer on the south west... that is the real challenge for the new presenter ;) Jokes aside, I love the energy, reminds me when I was briefly working in Tokyo.
It looks like a lovely meal and I appreciate the video. I have to say that the translation of Omakase is not quite correct because the intention of "chefs choice" or "I lea e it up to you" is more nuanced in that the true intention is that the chef knows you and what you like and don't like? So the idea originally was you would be a patron at a restaurant where the chef knows you really well, and you would basically, over time, get to know that chef and he would get to know you and then be able to create a meal based on not just what was fresh, but on what he knew your tastes and predilections were. What's happening now is that Omakase has become a marketing strategy because it allows for a fixed menu to be sold as chef's choice. The problem is that it's not really Omakase if the chef doesn't know me. It's just a fixed menu and the prices that come with that don't always reflect the quality of the meal or the experience. In my opinion, I would rather go to a good sushi bar where the chef knows me and have him prepare a meal for me then go to a restaurant and pay premium prices to have a meal where I may or may not like what's being served in the order it's being served in. Thank you for the fun video and your lovely energy. I look forward to coming back to japan soon. If you want to try a really amazing sushi bar in Tokyo go to the standing sushi bar in Tokyo station near the imperial Palace. It's one of the best sushi experiences in TOKYO because of the quality of the sushi and the uniqueness of the experience. In my opinion…
4378yen for all you can eat Sushi is a good price in case you can eat more than 20pcs. If you eat just 20pcs, the price is higher than a good Sushi converter belt restaurant where you can get 1 piece for 120~170yen. But you have the side dishes included, which is a good thing. But how about drinks? You have to pay extra for drinks (except water), right? But the first place looks really awesome. I prefer the first place to the second place. I am not a fan of all you can eat.
I think she said it's around 10k. I think the chef was saying that it usually ranges between 30k-50k. If you click on the link that's provided in the description, it shows a range between 10k-15k for dinner. It ranges between 8k-10k for lunch
Absolutely! I'd love to grab a drink with you in March 2025. I'm free most of the month, so just let me know what dates work best for you and we can figure out a time. I'm open to trying new places or sticking to old favorites, so feel free to make suggestions. I'm really looking forward to it!
We ate at the first place place was great !! thank you Japan by food sometimes its better left unknown to what you are eating we got cod sperm ….. It tasted better before he figured out what to call it in English but the the patron next to me gladly ate his so I ate mine and the wifes too😂😂😂
Omakase is always top quality sushi and JP¥10,000 is currently $65.00 USD. For twenty-two items that is ridiculously affordable. The two-hour all-you-can-eat sushi was ¥4378, less than $30. Perhaps you are confusing Chinese yuan for Japanese yen? Currently CH¥1= JP¥21.
Aussie English has evolved into an shape where an offensive amalgamation of extra vowels are pronounced when only one should have been. Strangely, it still sounds frightfully cute when it's spoken by Asian people.
How much ?? You should speak up the price in English not in Japanese language because hold video you speak English Go watch your video again what your mistake hehe
I'm a bit of a germophobe, watching someone paw my food before serving it to me is disgusting. When I'm in Japan, I always eat at restaurants where I can't see the cook make my food.
Loving your energy Stephanie. Well done! You're a great host. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Stephanie great video! I absolutely love sushi, if I could eat it every day I would. 🍣
another great episode. good job Steph!
Good job Stephanie, I enjoyed your video and looking forward to see more from you!

Stephanie, you're so fun in this one! So happy you landed this gig at ByFood!
Stephanie made everything look so delicious! Can't wait to visit Japan again, hopefully very soon!
We need more Stephanie vids!
I'll be solo traveling Japan next year so this was incredibly informative and i'm adding these restaurants to my ever growing potential itinerary
Thank you for watching! Glad this information was useful in your planning!
that platter at the end, wow. Stunning.
Hooray! Great to hear Steph’s Aussie accent on JBF again! Did I spot a missed opportunity earlier on to tell the chef you’re on a seafood diet?
I loved to see the enthusiasm from Stephanie; it's a great and positive change from some of the previous videos!
I thought the sushi lab was better since they understood speaking in english and had the pictures of the fish to show you also. That really seems like a more complete experience for a foodie.
It's very nice to see you again, especially when my day starts with it. Have a good time.🌹🌻🌻
Stephanie’s red hair looks so good! 🔥
Wow, Stephanie really knows how to find hidden gems!❤ I love how these places offer top-notch sushi without the hefty price tag. Can’t wait to check them out! Thank you for sharing this amazing content! ❤

Looks good! Thank you! I miss Japan!
Go Steph! Great video and that food looks incredible. I don't even know if I could get through the first 20 pieces!
Thanks for the amazing recommendations ❤
Thank YOU for watching! 😄

Let's go! Let's go to eat....Yeah! Keep being awesome
Awesome video Legend 😁
Great video Stephanie! You need to go practice eating with Shizuka lol! Just kidding, keep up the great work and look forward to the next video! Bye
Went to sushi lab over the summer. Can confirm that it was delicious!
Wow these places are amazing quality and ... such great prices!!
That's what we were going for! Highly recommend both!
100% pinned down on my next trip plan 🤩
I don't like sushi but Stephanie is so much fun to watch of course I stayed til the end!
It's true that sushi isn't for everyone! Thank you for watching nonetheless 🥹
I love 🍣. Great work team😊
Stephanie has a great personality. Great accent as well.
Great job, I know what I'm having for lunch tomorrow.
very nice video, the longer the vid the whackier steph got which is entertaining haha
I wish I had seen this video when I was Japan a month ago! I'm gonna need to book another trip
would love to see shizuka and stephanie in a heyzo debut!
amazing, I need to get to Japan asap!
Dining with Stephanie at a japanese restaurant must be fun and amusing when she ends up ordering everything on the menu. Bring your stomach! 😋😂
Basashi next time, summer on the south west... that is the real challenge for the new presenter ;) Jokes aside, I love the energy, reminds me when I was briefly working in Tokyo.
Excellent job, Stephanie! The all-you-can-eat restaurant would be my pick but I doubt you would be wrong if you liked the others.
Love Stephanie 🩶🩶
Great to see Stephanie back, more from her in 2025 please 💜
Let's gooooo! it's time to eat!

The buffet hands down.

LOVE YOUR RED HAIR STEPH!
Love her fashion
Sooooo oishii. デリシャス.

Yay, you still work for Japan by Food.
Some day Stephanie and Shizuka should collab!
Hello beautiful Stephanie, I love your opalescent nails in this video
What happen to Shizuka Anderson? Is she no longer hosting this show?
Next time on, Steph in Black.
how is 30K yen cheap?
I think she said it's around 10k. I think the chef was saying that it usually ranges between 30k-50k. If you click on the link that's provided in the description, it shows a range between 10k-15k for dinner. It ranges between 8k-10k for lunch
She said ¥10,000 JPY. That's currently $65.00 USD for twenty-two items, ridiculously affordable for omakase.
I like this new presenter. Enthusiastic, colourful, enjoyable to listen to... and 20 decibels quieter than the "other" presenter.
Ok, when I first looked at the thumbnail pic, I was wondering what happened to Shizuka?
Yen is so weak right now, how are they able to keep running like this?
Hope Stephanie didn't end up drinking all that daiginjo 🤣
Cool content! Thank you. Fyi.
lets gurrr
I'll be in Tokyo in March 2025, wanna go out for a drink?
Absolutely! I'd love to grab a drink with you in March 2025. I'm free most of the month, so just let me know what dates work best for you and we can figure out a time. I'm open to trying new places or sticking to old favorites, so feel free to make suggestions. I'm really looking forward to it!
Creepy…
🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
Aussie accent big time
...Onya mate...
We ate at the first place
place was great !! thank you Japan by food
sometimes its better left unknown to what you are eating
we got cod sperm …..
It tasted better before he figured out what to call it in English but the the patron next to me gladly ate his so I ate mine and the wifes too😂😂😂
Glad you had a good time despite the... surprise 😅
🙂
Bruh Japanese really put that 😅extra on it huh, bruh if u do something long enough you will get good at it
Your enthusiasm is infectious. Have you ever tried talking with your hands tied behind your back? Could you do it? 😉
that's not "affordable"!
Do they force Stephanie to eat everything or does she feel like she's living in the shadow of the other person so she needs to work harder?
forget all that. just go find the nearest standing sushi spot. it's just as good
This girl is so much more attractive than Shizuka Anderson, I think she should be doing a lot more videos than Shizuka
neither, go to conveyor belt sushi like Kura Sushi Global Flagship Store Asakusa. Just being inside is already a unique experience.
I thought Stephanie did a great job!!! But where is Shizuka? Did she quit or just taking a break?
Aussie English has evolved into an shape where an offensive amalgamation of extra vowels are pronounced when only one should have been. Strangely, it still sounds frightfully cute when it's spoken by Asian people.
What's with the hair?
How much ??
You should speak up the price in English not in Japanese language
because hold video you speak English
Go watch your video again what your mistake hehe
I'm a bit of a germophobe, watching someone paw my food before serving it to me is disgusting. When I'm in Japan, I always eat at restaurants where I can't see the cook make my food.
I like that concept, yet I hate when I leave it to the chef and he decides to blow on my food with his mouth at 00:41, that's disgusting.
yo i like the other host way more than steph
This girl doesn’t even speak Japanese!
Of course, she doesn't. This is an English channel for international people.
first
where is shizuka?
She's in some other videos.
Where is Shizuka?
Can we ditch the mouth covering while eating? Youre in a restaurant on a food show- nobody cares if youre scarfing food.
In Japan it’s customary to cover your mouth while eating and talking. You know how Americans offensively chew with their mouth open.
@dbwatx931 yep you got us, literally every American chews with their mouth open.
Americans also talk loudly while chewing food, spewing out bit and pieces with their spit at the same time. EWWW.
Drama ni Inday Sara 😂
Shizuka😢😢😢
W/out shizuka this channel is very boring😢
