If the Prabhas's intro was done in a more COOLER or SWAGGY way with less comedy and also with the fight after his intro , I would have loved the 1st half
I think the first half was equally important as in explaining why Prabhas craved to enter the complex or what the common humans have been denied in the future .. As he for the first time gets to breathe fresh air or view a sea or similar experiences .
@bishaldas8624 sry to tell but those unnecessary characters are for only telugu state people😊 ,because in our telugu states due to world building in first half telugu people get easily bored so thats y they introduced telugu cameos in the mv so when evr the mv feels stretched a new cameo will came out of nowhere and so audience will scream and chant for that new character entrance this will engage audience in watching intrstingly, and As compared to north people they can easily watch those world building and but they little bit feel stretched but they will ignore it easily that part😊 ,

i think "Nagi Mawa" opened up the discussion of Mahabaratha , our epic and scriptures again, and it is a really good time we talk about it, to be honest ,we didn't had our version of Mahabarata and Ramayana either as a TV show or franchise, Our previous generations has legendary actors played the roles and it was more stage drama style and the epicness comes from their dialoage delivery , poetry and amazing drama. Now we have the tools to show the scale and epicness of the war , the power scaling too . And "Nagi Mawa" opened up that domain , and most important thing is the possibility of writing a continuation to the epics , its a pandoras box just opens up the possibilities to an insane level. If just imagination , I can think that Marvels whole franchise will look smaller if we could visualize our epics
I Don’t Know If People Noticed It Or Not, The Way Nag Ashwin Set Up Prabhas Reveal Was So Good. First THE SETUP Where He Says To The Kid That The Stick Isn’t Just Normal It Belongs To His Great Warrior Friend Which Only Works In His Presence. Then THE BUILDUP The Fighting Sequence Leading Him Be Unconscious Near The Stick and On The Verge Of Losing The Battle The Stick Get The Physical Contact With Prabhas. Finally THE REVEAL Going Back To Mahabharatam Scene & Revealing That It Belonged To Karn and It’s None Other Than Prabhas. No One Could Write A Better Sequence Than This.
"No one could write a better sequence than this" could be an overstatement because I have seen many "anime" that I have watched follow this kind of sequence. Anyways I am glad that you loved it
And also that one of the leaves of the ONLY two of the DYING TREE adding weight to the stick to make contact with prabhas ( implying mother nature helping ) 🗿🔥🔥

Indian Mahabharat story mixed with modern day cinema would be difficult for foreigners to understand. This one, I don't believe that even Achara will be able to tell what's new and what's a part of Mahabharat.

Just watched the movie. First, as many have commented here, Amitabh Bachchan was well-utilised and did a phenomenal job per his usual. Prabhas is certainly a brilliant actor, but the 'chats' between him and Bhujji seemed forced and trite. Certain actors (e.g. Brahmanandam) seemed wasted in their roles, but almost all of them did a great job regardless of the sizes of their roles. Except for the first one, all action sequences were pretty good too, especially the ones involving 'Aswathama'. Most of the white guns did seem very light and toy-like, but that's about my only criticism about that. Also, the 'effects' created during the flashbacks when the "two warriors" (trying to avoid spoilers) used their godly bows were especially nice to watch. As Andrew mentioned we couldn't help thinking about certain English movies as we watched it... the movie certainly paid homage to many of those, but in a good way. Now, it may be because of the language in which I watched it, but the movie itself was only good in 'patches' and my friends and I were fidgety, even bored at times. Like most Indians, I've been immersed in the Mahabharata from a very young age through various sources, so I am quite familiar with the whole saga. The concept of the movie is a good one, to be sure, but a bit more stringent editing would have helped. If nothing else, some of the dialogues and scenes could have been cut out. I look forward to part 2 though. PS: I didn't recognise SSR's cameo at first and was wondering what the whole 5-year, 10-year bit was about. It was when my friend nudged me and pointed out the director that I realised what that dialogue meant. Nice touch!
19:00 he isn't aswathama's brother he was his war companion they fought from the same side the one they were against was Arjun who actually is Karn's Blood related sibling.
1st half was good, not great but still good, every movie needs it...the elevation scenes is like a trade mark of Indian cinemas 😅 we cannot remove that...and when they visit the complex, man what a scene it's a literal heaven...you should see it from the POV of people living below.
20:30 even after watching the entire movie these two guys have no odea why Aswasthama (Amitabh Bachchan) is shown 7/8 feet taller. Smooth talking idiots did not spend even 10 mins googling about the story of the movie. But they'll chear up about Superman (a copy/inspired from Hanuman), Batman, Dr Strange (trains in Hindu/Buddist temples), multiverse (from Ramayan and Mahabharat), Great Archer (Green Arrow, Hawkeye (Arjun/Karna) etc......but they'll never acknowledge the original........USA has always been about stealing from others.
The excitement on Micheal and Andrew's face and voice really shows how epic this movie is and how much they loved it... These two can never hide or fake their excitement.... We must thank director to show Amitabh sir as he did... Nag ashwin and Amitabh sir casually raised the Indian cinema standards...
17:25 totally agree with andrew. They should have showed that scene very earlier. It was not suspensful.. also i think they should have give prabhas more depth. @@warrioryuvraj4311 I agree BR Chopra is a classic. But we need to understand that they are foreigners and don't have access to any knowledge on our History and God. With time, perspectives change and people find those content easy to understand which they can relate. Star Plus Mahabharat is more relatable to the new generation through the portrayal and direction of characters, and the faster pace of story. So, I think if they need to react on something, it should be this one. For us Indians, the nostalgic and connected feeling that BR Chopra's Mahabharat gives, it can never be felt by foreigners of new generation. I won't recommend any other Mahabharat show except these two. Otherwise they better read books.
Many VFX houses from Dune, Mad Max and other movies worked on Kalki. The director said they took inspiration from such dystopian movies especially star Wars. About lasers and weapons. The only thing that can differentiate is India's original story of Mahabharat and Vedic philosophy of gods and evolution.
People who wanna go see this movie has to know about Mahabharata: the epic war of mankind. You must see or learn or read about the ancient war before you watch the movie to give its WOW, DAMN! moments. There are soooo many places where you miss out the MIND BLOWING scenes if you don't remember or know anything of Mahabharat. So please do it, that makes the movie 100× worth it; EYE OPENING and Mind Blowing. I think this is a great way to make people know of their history. Amazing work and script, hats off!
Just to be clear, Karna is not the brother of Ashwatthama. He is actually a sibling of the Pandavas. But he was looked down by his brothers as he was given birth not by their biological father but the Sun God. As a result he ended up on the wrong side.

So in Mahabharata, Karna and Ashwadhama arent brothers. I dont know if this was implied there were "brothers in war" as in they fought for the same side (the bad side - Kauravas).
Just to make it clear, Karan is not real brother of aswathama, they just fought on the same side( which was loosing side ) in kurukshetra war in mahabharath. So they just greet eachother like brothers.
Those who donno anything about Mahabharat and it's iconic characters in details, for them it will be like watching avengers endgame without watching any previous marvel superhero movies! So if you donno about Mahabharat avoid ths movie or learn about Mahabharat first!
In "Kalki 2898 AD," I didn't like the name of the evil organization, "COMPLEX," and the name of the character, "Supreme Yaskin." These are two key titles that could have been better thought out and named.
KALKI is based on "The mother of all wars, the epitome of all rivalries, the cauldron of emotions, insecurities, jealousies, and power play - Mahabharat!" These are the stories most Indians grew up listening to. If you want to understand the kalki arc you need to watch/read or listen to Mahabharata and if possible dashavatharas of Vishnu.
Vfx and everything was good but story plot was not very good I feel. Definetly a step higher for Indian cinema but I feel they neglected proper story and focused on vfx. Overall it was a ok movie
Just for your info knowing the lore makes movie watching experience 10 times better Movie starting statement in background during Kurukshetra war: "Ashwathama hataha, iti, Narova Kunjarova," Translation: Ashwathama is dead, but I am not sure if it is a man or an elephant This phrase was used by Yudhishthira to deceive Dronacharya, the commander of the Kaurava army, the father of Ashwathama, almost invincible warrior, who caused significant losses to the Pandava army during the Kurukshetra war. The first part of the statement, “Ashwathama hataha” (“Ashwathama is dead”), was said out loud by Yudhishthira. The second part, “Narova Kunjarova” (“but I am not sure if it is a man or an elephant”), was spoken softly or mumbled under his breath, so it was not clearly heard by Dronacharya. Dronacharya, upon hearing this from the truthful Yudhishthira, was shattered and lost his will to fight, leading to his eventual death. This is the reason why Ashwathama shows deep resentment and anger towards Krishna in the movie. Ashwathama used the Brahmastra in response to his father’s death. Unable to retract his weapon, Ashwathama redirected his Brahmastra towards the wombs of the Pandava women The core concept of the movie starts just with this one line in Mahabharata scripture. All the characters in the movies are demigods in indian mythology Ashwathama(Amithabachan) The gem on his forehead grants him protection from hunger, thirst, and fatigue, and makes him nearly invincible in battle. Arjuna(Vijay devarkonda) is considered the greatest archer of his time, excelling in the use of the bow and arrow. He possess Gandhiva, the bow that kamal haasan possesses at the end was given to arjuna by agni (god of fire), His chariot is protected by Lord Hanuman and driven by Krishna, making it nearly invincible. Karna(Prabhas) At birth is endowed with a natural armor (Kavacha) and earrings (Kundala) that make him invulnerable and unparalleled warrior. Karna’s loss against Arjuna in the Mahabharata, despite his immense power, is attributed to a combination of factors that highlight the complex interplay of fate, curses, and moral choices he has. And Krishna(casted no one yet), he is avatar of lord vishnu himself. In religious scriptures, Kalki is prophesied to be born in the village of Shambala to Sumati (SUM-80, deepika in movie), Director took origin of krishna as inspiration to origin of kalki. (Interval sequence) When Krishna was born, the heavy prison doors miraculously opened, allowing Vasudeva to carry the newborn out of the prison cell without hindrance, while in movie power-surge helps to escape from complex prison. As Vasudeva approached the Yamuna River carrying baby Krishna, the waters of the river parted, creating a safe path for him to cross. In movie a gush of wind paved the path to deepika to come out of complex from fire. One more reference from mahabharata, Duryodhana(Dulqer salman) selfish, gambler, and influencer of karna(prabhas). So, Amtiabachan character is not copy of Jarvis. Prabhas is not starlord. Most of the people in india go to this movie just to watch the lore of mahabaratha and it’s beautiful adaptation to characters in movie world. As rajamouli said, making a movie on mahabaratha will be his final project and he think he doesn’t have proper skills to capture the intensity, visuals and emotion of the great mahabaratha from his mind to big screen.

Literally came back from the movie like an hour ago and came on here cuz I wanted to see what one of my favourite channels had to say XD I personally enjoyed the movie but if I had to nitpick, I'd say the first half was kinda slow (apart from the cool Mahabharatam scenes) and there were definitely some really cringey scenes which I honestly thought could have been omitted or done differently. There were also a few fight scenes in the first half that could have been waaaay shorter in my opinion. However, apart from those things, the movie was definitely an epic story and the worldbuilding was amazing! The second half was my favourite for sure--everything just became more intense and elevated! Also, those Mahabharatam scenes!!! AHHHHH HOW COOL WERE THEY?! The adrenaline rush was so high whenever we saw glimpses of them XD Overall it was a really nice movie and I couldn't believe it ended when it did and am now eagerly anticipating Part 2! :D

Its okay to comapare, andrew Nag ashwin has himself said it that he was heavily inspired from the sci-fi movies the hollywood makes. Most of us understand (except a few) why you guys are comparing so you guys dont need to keep apologizing.
Let me explain why Indian audience is damn eager for this: In Hinduism, there are 4 Yugas (Eras). Satya Yuga (Golden Age) Treta Yuga (Silver Age) Dwapar Yuga (Copper Age) and Kali Yuga (Iron Age). The level of wickedness, badness and misery in world increases in every consecutive Yuga. As years pass, one Yug ends and another begins. Ramayan happened in Treta Yug. Mahabharat happened in Dwapar Yug. Currently we are in the Kali Yug (2024 AD). Now the interesting part, The Yugas aren't linear, they are in a circle like a clock, the end of Kali Yug would begin the Satya Yug. But as Satya Yuga is the holiest of all and Kaliyug the unholiest, the transition of these two Yugas won't be the same as the other pairs. When this happens, the Universe will face an entire wipe out and only the good souls will survive that will carry on the Satya Yuga once again. It is like a circle of life. What begins will end, and the end will bring a new beginning! There are more details of each Yuga, how they were, what were the timelines, how were the humans then, etc. Now, coming to the movie... You need to know that in these four Yugas, to maintain the balance and prove the victory of goodness vs evil (Dharma vs Adharma), Lord Vishnu, the Proprietor of the Universe incarnates in the mortal world for 10 times, called the 10 Avatars or Dashavatar. Avatar is an Indian word. [Dharma means righteousness and not religion here!]. I won't speak about all the Incarnations in detail here, but you guys must have heard about Shree Ram and Shree Krishn. They were the 7th and 8th Avatars of Lord Vishnu. Depending on necessities, He incarnated with different qualities and forms. In Treta Yug, Shree Ram established Dharma by defeating Ravan and establishing Ram Rajya, the rule of peace. In Dwapar Yug, Shree Krishn defeated Kans to protect his region, and his role in the Great Mahabharat to establish Dharm is known by you. Interestingly, till today, only 9 Avatars have been born and completed their goals. The 10th and last avatar of Lord Vishnu was prophecised to come at the end of Kali Yug to establish Dharm once again and this destruction will start the Satya Yuga once again. The name of this Avatar will be Kalki. Even the birthplace and names of parents are mentioned in the Holy books of Hinduism. This movie is based on the place, where Shambhapur will see the birth of Kalki (in the womb of Deepika). Amitabh Bachchan's character is of Ashwatthama, one of the 8 immortals of the world, who was cursed by Shree Krishn at the end of Mahabharat to be immortal and suffer. He and the other 7 Chiranjeevi (immortals) including Hanuman will pave the way for Kalki to reach his destination to defeat Kali, the demon. This movie has the backdrop of a very core subject which is close to us Indians and that's why, people will definitely appreciate it. I'll say a very interesting fact at the last: 1. It is believed that in Satya Yuga, good and evil were in different worlds, Devta (Demigods) in Devlok ans Asuras (demons) in Asurlok... 2. In Treta Yug, good and evil were in same world, Shree Ram and Ravan 3. In Dwapar Yug, good and evil were in the same family, Pandavas and Kauravas. 4. In Kali Yug, good and evil are in the same person, our own thoughts! THIS IS A VERY BIG LESSON I BELIEVE!

I think the first half was equally important as in explaining why Prabhas craved to enter the complex or what the common humans have been denied in the future .. As he for the first time gets to breathe fresh air or view a sea or similar experiences .
@bishaldas8624 sry to tell but those unnecessary characters are for only telugu state people😊 ,because in our telugu states due to world building in first half telugu people get easily bored so thats y they introduced telugu cameos in the mv so when evr the mv feels stretched a new cameo will came out of nowhere and so audience will scream and chant for that new character entrance this will engage audience in watching intrstingly, and As compared to north people they can easily watch those world building and but they little bit feel stretched but they will ignore it easily that part😊 ,

i think "Nagi Mawa" opened up the discussion of Mahabaratha , our epic and scriptures again, and it is a really good time we talk about it,
to be honest ,we didn't had our version of Mahabarata and Ramayana either as a TV show or franchise, Our previous generations has legendary actors played the roles and it was more stage drama style and the epicness comes from their dialoage delivery , poetry and amazing drama. Now we have the tools to show the scale and epicness of the war , the power scaling too .
And "Nagi Mawa" opened up that domain , and
most important thing is the possibility of writing a continuation to the epics , its a pandoras box just opens up the possibilities to an insane level.
If just imagination , I can think that Marvels whole franchise will look smaller if we could visualize our epics

Nice touch!
Nagi isn't a veteran director. Still he was able to pull this off. I hope he will learn from the little mistakes and make Part 2 even better

@@warrioryuvraj4311 I agree BR Chopra is a classic. But we need to understand that they are foreigners and don't have access to any knowledge on our History and God. With time, perspectives change and people find those content easy to understand which they can relate. Just for your info knowing the lore makes movie watching experience 10 times better
Movie starting statement in background during Kurukshetra war:
"Ashwathama hataha, iti, Narova Kunjarova,"
Translation: Ashwathama is dead, but I am not sure if it is a man or an elephant
This phrase was used by Yudhishthira to deceive Dronacharya, the commander of the Kaurava army, the father of Ashwathama, almost invincible warrior, who caused significant losses to the Pandava army during the Kurukshetra war.
Unable to retract his weapon, Ashwathama redirected his Brahmastra towards the wombs of the Pandava women
The core concept of the movie starts just with this one line in Mahabharata scripture.
All the characters in the movies are demigods in indian mythology
Ashwathama(Amithabachan) The gem on his forehead grants him protection from hunger, thirst, and fatigue, and makes him nearly invincible in battle.
In religious scriptures, Kalki is prophesied to be born in the village of Shambala to Sumati (SUM-80, deepika in movie),
Director took origin of krishna as inspiration to origin of kalki. (Interval sequence)
When Krishna was born, the heavy prison doors miraculously opened, allowing Vasudeva to carry the newborn out of the prison cell without hindrance, while in movie power-surge helps to escape from complex prison.

This movie could be very confusing to non-indians due to mythological references.
Prabhas is an amazing actor, love you prabhas sir ❤
I'll say a very interesting fact at the last:
1. It is believed that in Satya Yuga, good and evil were in different worlds, Devta (Demigods) in Devlok ans Asuras (demons) in Asurlok...
2. In Treta Yug, good and evil were in same world, Shree Ram and Ravan
3. In Dwapar Yug, good and evil were in the same family, Pandavas and Kauravas.
4. In Kali Yug, good and evil are in the same person, our own thoughts! THIS IS A VERY BIG LESSON I BELIEVE!
Where is your boss?😂
In Japan
Guys let’s be real, first half of movie was dragging in some parts. They are buttering up us the Indian audience way too much… and that’s why I love Jaby because at least he is blunt about his opinions…🙂
Not their channel. Everyone can feel different about the movie.
