    A lot of comments focussing on - "oh hey they don't know Mahabharata, they would never be able to appreciate this masterpiece". But, their points are also valid. At times you are disengaged from the plot and the characters. The sudden transitions in scenes was not a pleasant experience. I would have loved if they focussed more on character development. Korbin was right when he said "it didn't make sense when certain people in the movie couldn't lift a person while they were stopping heavy vehicles in other scenes".

      The People in question have technology. Armour. Flying shoes. Capsule Co. type tech which makes things unfold from small to big. And then there's the divinity factor of several characters.
      (And even if not that, While watching mythology based movies where the main character controls the universe and decides its laws, one should really put their physics knowledge of the known sciences outside.)
      But in the reference of the movie, the first paragraph is enough.

      These are pieces of art. Criticizing it has a way. That one only talks about their feelings or feelings of alot of people. While watching it. One can't say it's wrongly made. One can only say what the director can tweak the next time to make their emotions feel more positive.
      There should be a way of criticizing this, if one calls themselves a critic.
      I gave ₹300 to enjoy and at every second there was something on screen to enjoy. Of course the first half will feel slow, it's an entire Franchise's world building. I remember Dune 1 to be like that entirely.

Even in the first half, the first 15 minutes of the Mahabartha episode is so good , Indians will get connected so quickly. After that movie runs very flat and I felt what's happening , then after interval boom felt it's completely different, it is so good in 2nd half .

    There weren't many characters , its based on mythology, so it was a wow moment when any extra character were introduced ! And i know people who don't know mahabharat and kalki wont enjoy this. Its not scifi for us, its a imagination of kalki purana. Its imagination of future that's already predicted. Its not new, its wow , because the stories in mind, the stories we listened since childhood , its depicted with awesome visuals. The mahabharat flashbacks were just so good, so relatable, so convincing.

Before watching this movie you should have watched the Mahabharat serial. It would have given you a grasp about our hindu mythology and the impact of characters like karna, arjuna in our life. So you didn’t get excited during the last part of the movie. The goosebumps u feel when you get to see the bow of Karna and the fight between Karna and Arjuna you won’t get it. For me the first part of the film may be weak but the 2nd part was mind blowing. The movie is nowhere near average. It’s not about the Mahabharata. If the director respected Mahabharata, it’s a sequel to Mahabharata which means you should respect Mahabharata. You don’t need rajamouli, rgv and disha patani to confirm that. It should be like Mahabharata or Ramayana or it should be like other epic stories of different yugas. But I don’t see any of that in the first half. So half of it would have just been trimmed out in the first half. The comedy and dialogue writing was shit. The animated series had better comedy. So it shouldn’t have followed the Hollywood methodology but its cultural methodology. So culture has nothing to do with the movie because it’s taken for granted for sure. So, the positive thing is Amitabh, deepika, kamal and the cinematography and vfx. It’s a step forward for Telugu film. But that’s all.

    A film that requires understanding mythology beforehand fails in storytelling. Cinema should convey its narrative clearly and engagingly, regardless of the audience's background knowledge. Directors should seamlessly integrate mythological elements into the story, enhancing rather than confusing. Relying on mythology as a prerequisite alienates viewers unfamiliar with the source material, limiting the film’s accessibility and impact. Successful films use mythological themes to enrich the narrative, not as a crutch. Ultimately, a movie should stand on its own, offering a compelling experience that invites everyone to engage without needing prior knowledge.

    • @sanal4492
      @sanal4492 Месяц назад +3

      But then how would you make such a film then? How can you possibly have enough exposition in a movie that is based on Mahabharat lore before it bogging down on the film's main narrative?

    • @uditverma
      @uditverma Месяц назад +3

      Balancing exposition with narrative flow in a film based on something as complex as Mahabharata lore requires subtle integration. Here's how:
      1. Character Focus: Highlight the core themes and conflicts through the main characters' experiences. This keeps the narrative engaging and relatable.
      2. Visual Storytelling: Use visual cues and symbolic imagery to convey backstory and mythology without lengthy explanations.
      3. Contextual Dialogue: Integrate essential exposition into natural dialogue and character interactions.
      4. Opening Narration or Text: A brief introduction or prologue can set the stage without overwhelming the audience.
      Effective storytelling can introduce and explore rich mythological elements without compromising the film’s pace or clarity.

    12:35 we have been craving this type of role for prabhas since he made bahubali mane, yeah like two jokes didn’t hit but the rest did and in telugu hearing our darling be charismatic and charming in a han solo/star lord type role is amazing. i agree with your other criticisms, still would be a platinum medal award for this film imo :))

    actually comedy dialogues were mostly rhyming in telugu so may be in subtitles it might not be that effective

    The director once said , we also see Thor in Hollywood we dont know who he is but we still enjoy it , the same way it's for Kalki and the epic Mahabharat.
    But I sugget the viewers to do enough research on Google to understand the story

    Most of the comments have not even watched the movie 😂but still saying that they didn’t understand coz they are not Indian. The flaws of the movie have nothing to do with being or not being an Indian
