Yes according to the link below Viewpoint only works with Photoshop as a plugin and in Lightroom as a filter. www.dxo.com/dxo-viewpoint/learn/#:~:text=Can%20I%20use%20DxO%20ViewPoint,directly%20from%20the%20Filters%20menu.
I tested it for you by adding Viewpoint 5 as a plugin in Affinity Photo. After I opened the jpg file in Affinity Photo, then there is a popup like this: "Your image cannot be modified with DxO Viewpoint 5. Why can't I save my DxO Viewpoint 5 edits in this host application? Unfortunately, DxO Viewpoint 5 cannot be used as a plugin for this host application. The plugin will change the dimensions of your images, which cannot be done within your current host application. You can still try out the software and its features, but you will not be able to save your changes. DxO Viewpoint 5 can also be used as a standalone application."
The perspective and lens distortion correction tools are in Photolab by default. Do I understand this correctly that you need to buy Viewpoint to enable the more advanced features like volume deformation?
Yes you do. DxO only gives full functionality when you buy PL8, VP5 and FP7. There are features you would assume are part of PL8 that only work if you buy all three apps. The controls then are activated in PL8 and you do not need to open VP5 of FP7 to get at the controls.
Excellent explanation. I have v4 and will trial v5
Thanks for the feedback
great ! Thanks a lot !!!
No problem!
It has been reported that Viewpoint 5 does not work as a plugin in Affinity Photo. Can you confirm this?
